The Antinomy of The Application of The Principle of Premium Remedium in Enforcing the Criminal Act of Corruption For State Financial Loss

Premium Remedium as a legal principle, with regard to prioritizing the imposition of criminal sanctions, should not be a form of application of absolute theory but as a form of application of expanded integrative theory in the aim of punishment as a guarantee of legal protection and certainty for every citizen seeking justice, in accordance with the mandate of Article 28 D of the 1945 Constitution. The application of the principle of premium remedium in law enforcement for criminal acts of corruption causing losses to state finances, is faced with positive law which places the function of administrative law as a premium remedium in law enforcement for acts that are detrimental to state finances, which is a reality of legal antinomy. The issue raised is what legal principles are the basis for the implementation of the provisions of Law Number 31 of 1999 (UUPTPK) concerning the Eradication of Premium Remdium Corruption Crimes. The type of research used is normative research, namely research that primarily examines positive legal provisions, legal principles, legal principles and legal doctrine in order to answer the legal issues faced using a problem approach, statutory regulation approach, conceptual approach, philosophical approach. The legal materials used are primary legal materials and secondary legal materials. The research results show that the functionalization of the Corruption Eradication Law is Premium Remedium in law enforcement for offenses involving state financial losses, which is in contradiction with the Premium Remedium nature which is explicitly normatively attached to administrative law as a means of resolving state financial losses based on the provisions of Article 14 UUPTPK. The Premium Remedium principle attached to the a quo Eradication of Corruption Crimes is based on the principle of retributive justice or absolute theory which is not commensurate with the aim of expanded integrative punishment as contained in Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code which has restorative justice as its core. Balanced fertilizer application is an important management practice to improve soil fertility and quality in the agricultural lands. In present study, we examined the effects of nine different rates of blended NPSB fertilizer rates on soil pH, soil organic carbon (SOC), total nitrogen, available sulphur (ava.S), available boron (ava.B) and available phosphorus (ava.P) in the plowed layer (0-20cm). The results obtained from this study indicated that, the values of soil pH obtained from all treatments are lower than that of soil pH before fertilizer application. The application of fertilizer have remarkably improved soil organic carbon (SOC) and total nitrogen (TN) values compared with soil organic carbon (SOC) and total nitrogen (TN) recorded before fertilization. Except soil total nitrogen (TN) and soil organic carbon (SOC), application of different rates of blended NPSB fertilizer were highly significantly affected the values of soil pH, available phosphorus (ava.P), available sulphur (ava.S), and available boron (ava.B). The highest values of available phosphorus (ava.P), available sulphur (ava.S), and available boron (ava.B) were obtained from the plot treated with the highest (300kg/ha) fertilizer rate, were as the lowest was recorded from the control plot. Unlike available phosphorus (ava.P), available sulphur (ava.S), and available boron (ava.B), the values of soil pH recorded after fertilizer application becomes declined as the rate of fertilizer applied to the soil is increased dramatically. Thus, these indicated that, as the rate of blended NPSB fertilizer increased soil acidity becomes increased due to the presence of soil acidifying compounds such as nitrate, sulphate and boric acid in blended form. A low-carbon pathway for proppants production using solid waste recycling

The growing need for sustainable hydraulic fracturing requires the development of proppants that align operational efficiency with environmental management. This paper analyses advances in low-carbon propping technologies, such as ultra-low-density proppants (ULDPs), multifunctional proppants, and traditional ceramic proppants. Integrating industrial by-products such as fly ash, slag, and drilling cuttings has resulted in substantial energy and carbon emissions savings. For example, microwave sintering techniques reduced energy consumption by 30%, while life cycle CO2 emissions were reduced by 55% to 68% compared to conventional proppants. Mechanical tests confirm that these alternative promoters meet API standards for closing stress at 52 MPa, with a crushing resistance of ≤ 8% and a fracture conductivity of more than 90%, aided by self-healing coatings. In addition, non-combustion methods, including geopolymerisation and additive sintering, have allowed temperature reductions of up to 300ºC. This enhances the sustainability of fuel production. Despite these promising advances, challenges remain in standardising feedstock quality and adapting to evolving regulatory frameworks. However, the annual conversion of 1.1 billion tonnes of industrial by-products into high-performance proppants offers an opportunity for decarbonisation. To achieve this potential, we must continue to address critical gaps in field validation and standardisation of life cycle assessment. This underlines the need for interdisciplinary collaboration to integrate circular economy principles into unconventional resource extraction practices. Full text link
This study systematically reviewed the literature to examine non-pharmacological interventions for attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), a prevalent neurodevelopmental disorder that significantly impacts children’s academic performance, social interactions, and emotional development. While pharmacological treatments remain the primary approach for managing ADHD symptoms, an increasing body of research highlights the potential benefits of alternative, non-pharmacological strategies. Through a comprehensive analysis of existing studies, this review synthesizes findings to provide a holistic understanding of the current landscape of non-pharmacological interventions. It identifies key trends, such as the growing emphasis on behavioral therapies, parent training programs, and school-based interventions, while also highlighting critical gaps in the research, including a lack of diversity in study populations and limited exploration of long-term outcomes. The findings suggest that these interventions hold promise as effective complements or alternatives to medication, particularly for addressing the unique needs of different developmental stages and population groups. However, the review emphasizes the need for larger, more rigorous studies to validate their efficacy and generalizability. By outlining these trends and gaps, this study offers valuable insights for researchers, clinicians, and policymakers, paving the way for future research and more inclusive, evidence-based treatment approaches for ADHD. This study investigates the contribution of event marketing on customer purchase intention, focusing on BGI Beer Factory in Hawassa, Ethiopia. Event marketing has emerged as a powerful promotional strategy, yet its influence on consumer behavior in emerging markets remains underexplored. The research examines five core variables—brand awareness, customer engagement, customer attitude toward the event, event-sponsor fit, and brand image—to assess their impact on customers’ intention to purchase. A mixed research approach was employed, integrating both quantitative and qualitative data to ensure a comprehensive analysis. The research design combined descriptive and explanatory methods to not only depict the current status of event marketing practices but also explain the causal relationships between the identified variables and purchase intention. A cross-sectional survey of 368 respondents was conducted through structured questionnaires. Data were gathered through a convenience sampling technique, involving 368 respondents who attended BGI-sponsored events, along with in-depth interviews conducted with key marketing personnel of the factory. Quantitative data were analyzed using statistical tools such as regression analysis and SPSS, while qualitative insights were thematically analyzed to enrich the findings. Regression analysis reveals that these factors collectively explain 93.1% of the variance. The results reveal that brand awareness, event-sponsor fit, and brand image have a statistically significant positive impact on purchase intention. Meanwhile, customer engagement and attitude toward the event serve as strong factors enhancing this effect. Furthermore, the study highlights how culturally relevant and emotionally resonant event experiences significantly shape brand perception and loyalty in the Ethiopian context. The findings suggest that companies like BGI can leverage well-structured event marketing strategies to cultivate deeper consumer relationships and drive purchase behavior.
