THE IMPACT OF DIGITALIZATION ON STRESS AND WELL-BEING AMONG TOURISM EMPLOYEES

    No full text
In the contemporary tourism industry, digitalization has become an inevitable part of everyday processes — from online reservations to automated shift management. Although digital tools have the potential to facilitate work processes, they simultaneously bring new challenges, such as constant exposure to online reviews and the feeling of 24/7 availability. The aim of this paper is to examine how digitalization affects the level of stress and well-being of employees in tourism. The research is conducted through a quantitative method — a survey designed to measure sources of stress, perceptions of digitalization, and the level of job satisfaction. The results will provide insight into which digital solutions reduce and which increase stress among personnel. Based on the findings, recommendations will be proposed to improve work organization and strengthen the mental well-being of employees. The paper aims to contribute to the creation of more sustainable and human-centered working conditions in tourism in the digital era

    No full text
This paper examines the impact of light pollution on energy efficiency with a focus on the European context. Light pollution, caused by excessive and mismanaged artificial lighting, contributes not only to ecological degradation but also to unnecessary energy waste and increased greenhouse gas emissions. The analysis draws on existing literature, case studies, and European policy frameworks to identify effective strategies for addressing this issue. Results highlight three main areas: the potential of reducing electricity demand through efficient lighting design and smart management systems, the integration of renewable energy sources such as solar power into urban lighting infrastructures, and the role of technological advancements in LEDs and adaptive control systems. Case studies from European cities, along with projects in environmentally sensitive regions, demonstrate measurable energy savings and ecological benefits. Policy directives provide the regulatory basis, though challenges in implementation and public awareness remain. Overall, the findings suggest that mitigating light pollution represents both an environmental necessity and an economic opportunity, supporting sustainable urban development and improved quality of life

TOURISM AS AN OPEN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

    No full text
Considering tourism as an open communication system is justified and necessary in the conditions of revolutionary transformations in processes, products, relationships, technologies and strategies. The Tourism system acts as an open and complex structure, consisting of many and functionally dissimilar subsystems. These are independent, relatively separate parts with their own structures, their own mission and field of activity. However, the building blocks of this system cannot be considered as autonomous, internally homogeneous parts, united around a single goal. They are opposing subsystems with deeply different interests, often leading to conflicts in terms of goals. Nevertheless, the foundations of the Tourism system are the unity that represents and objectifies it through a fundamental social law - the law of synergy, requiring integration of efforts and one-sidedness of actions (with a direct impact on the final result). The application of this law is possible only through communication. To achieve the effect of synergy in a communication system, it is necessary to direct, distribute and coordinate (unite) the energy, actions and behavior of people in its constituent units. Since all subsystems are interconnected and dependent on each other, the malfunctioning of even the smallest component in any of them can affect the system as a whole. Therefore, the communication performance of each of its units, of each collaborator, is important for the overall success of the organic whole
