THE CHALLENGES FOR THE ‘PAX EUROPAEA’ CONCEPT IN CONDITIONS OF SECURITY ESCALATION
In delicate security conditions, the European continent is once again confronted with the possibility of greater war. The insecurity and sheer destruction in Ukraine inevitably contributed to fundamental changes in the geopolitical and geostrategic context that existed on the continent during a longer period of so-called relative peace and stability. Namely, the processes of integration and cooperation between the states in Europe, embodied in an international entity which by its nature is Sui Generis, naturally evolved into a supranational institution where the members delegate part of their sovereignty with an emphasis on law, foreign policy and the economy. The concept of Pax Europaea implies an era of relative peace and stability leading to prosperity. The factors mentioned above generated conditions in which we can talk about positive peace, meaning far more than absence of direct violence, i.e. different from the know concept of negative peace, which many researchers in the field of peace studies would immediately detect in the current constellation of relations. The military aggression against Ukraine re-actualized long know historical differences and interpretations of the past. It is especially important to detect the causality of the change that generates numerous challenges that will be faced by Europe and the world as a whole. Perhaps the end of the Pax Europaea concept is already in sight. The security dilemma is a product that, at the very least, contributes to an increased degree of insecurity, resulting in increased militarization and mistrust
OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF WINE TOURISM IN THE DOURO RIVER REGION
Portugal is one of the largest producers of wine in Europe and the world. This is a good prerequisite for the development of wine tourism. There are 8 wine-growing regions and 11 tourist routes in the country. The Douro region is the oldest demarcated wine region in the world. Since the 18th century, Port wine has been world-renowned for its quality. This long tradition of viticulture creates a cultural landscape of exceptional beauty and opportunities for tourism development. Since 2001, the region has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO
SOCIO-DEMOGRAPHIC CHARACTERISTICS AS A FACTOR FOR CUSTOMERS’ SATISFACTION
This research was conducted with the purpose to determine the impact of socio-demographic characteristics on the satisfaction of service users in restaurants. Online questionnaire was conducted through the Google forms including the entire restaurant management, and the satisfaction of the service users was measured through the questions asked. The 152 questionnaires were fully analysed. The analysed socio-demographic characteristics included: gender, age, monthly income, employment status, and education. The data was analysed with the variance analysis (AHOVA) and t-test. Statistically significant differences were noted in age, education, and work status (p<0.05). In order for restaurants to be competitive in the market, their management needs to focus on the problems and find a way to solve them in order to improve the satisfaction of the visitors
APPLICATION OF THE AGGLOMERATIVE CLUSTERING PROCEDURE FOR ASSESSING THE CIRCULARITY OF THE EUROPEAN UNION COUNTRIES
The circular economy represents a regenerative concept of the functioning of the economy and society, which aims at a more efficient allocation of resources and their use with the application of the principles of recycling and reducing the rate of waste generation to protect the environment. At the same time, the circular economy transforms and absorbs the existing industrial waste generation to create energy that encourages the further sustainable development of industrial ecosystems by directing processes to improve general business conditions. The primary methodological framework of this research is based on the selection of circular economy indicators and their performance at the level of the European Union for the five years 2017-2021, based on the latest available data from the Eurostat Database. By analyzing the five-year average values of circular economy indicators, using hierarchical cluster analysis using the agglomerative procedure, the European Union members are grouped by similarity into six clusters. Descriptive statistics within a cluster can determine the dominance of a particular cluster and progress in the area of the circular economy. Based on the results obtained, the most significant progress in circular performance was achieved by Croatia, Estonia and Latvia
TECHNO-ECONOMIC EVALUATON OF RETROFITTING A 210 MW THERMAL HEAVY-OIL POWER PLANT WITH A PHOTOVOLTAIC SOLAR THERMAL ENERGY STORAGE SYSTEM USING MOLTEN SALT: A CASE STUDY OF TEC NEGOTINO
This study evaluates the techno-economic feasibility of retrofitting a 210 MW thermal heavy-oil power plant, TEC Negotino, with a photovoltaic solar thermal energy storage system using molten salt. The analysis includes a sensitivity analysis of key parameters such as discharging duration, thermal storage and electric salt heater capacity, and charging duration to assess their impact on the annual energy yield, load factor, total investment cost (CapEx), and operational expenditure (OpEx). The results demonstrate that retrofitting the power plant with the proposed system can significantly improve its sustainability and economic viability. The sensitivity analysis highlights the importance of carefully considering these key parameters in the techno-economic evaluation of renewable energy (solar photovoltaic) technology and thermal energy storage systems (using molten salt) for retrofitting existing power plants. Moreover, the study\u27s findings can provide valuable insights for decision-making in the planning and implementation of greenfield projects, underscoring the potential benefits of incorporating renewable energy technologies into the design and construction of new power plants. The assessment of both CAPEX and OPEX ensures a comprehensive understanding of the financial implications of the retrofitting process, aiding in the successful integration of renewable energy solutions into existing power infrastructure
VALUES AND SKILLS GAINED BY STUDENTS IN TEACHING FOLK LITERATURE
Globalization puts national ideology and national reality, national identity and national development, the basic sources of statism and other important issues in danger. In the era of globalization, national ideology is going through an extremely complex process. In this context, it is important to protect national and moral values and protect national identity and national differences in the face of globalization. The "National Profile" we have developed aims to foster a strong cultural and moral environment both in the education system and for children and young people, thus increasing the resistance of this environment to external factors. Emphasizing national values is significant for middle and high school students, enabling them to critically assess the national and cultural values of other nations accurately. The education system of the Republic of Azerbaijan attaches great importance to school education (primary school, secondary school, high school). Literature courses are taught in 4443 schools at the secondary and high school levels. The course content consists of distinguished examples from Azerbaijani and world literature. At a time when global calls and threats show how important it is to protect our national identity, we emphasized the teaching of oral folk literature examples, which constitute the content of the literature course, with new methods. As a result, we expressed the necessity of a comprehensive, targeted and systematic arrangement of national, cultural and human values in the Literature course with new content, a new structure and a new perspective, and the implementation of this new method in the school was approved. Particularly in the preface, the importance of using correct tenses in terms of grammar should be emphasized.

EXTRAORDINARY BELIEFS IN THE TURKS OF NORTH MACEDONIA AND THE PRACTICES THAT ARISE RELATED TO THEM
In almost every period of history, Turkish living spaces have witnessed many beliefs and these beliefs have brought about many practices. These practices and rituals, which are considered cultural values, were and still are considered the most important treasure that forms the basis of Turkish heritage. This study reveals some extraordinary beliefs that two neighbouring people living in Anatolia and the Balkans maintain with the help of similar cultural elements from the past, and some practices around these beliefs, with the help of compilations made with source persons from the North Macedonian Turks. As a result of the compilation studies conducted with Turks from North Macedonia, information obtained from oral and written sources is used to discuss how the extraordinary beliefs in North Macedonian Turkish culture and the resulting practices are continued among the North Macedonian Turks. The aim is to determine the unifying features of Turkish culture and to reveal where the differences lie by examining the extraordinary beliefs of the North Macedonian T urks, along with some practices and rituals that continue to be kept alive in parallel.

RETEX AND GUERILLA DESIGN AS PROMOTERS OF SUSTAINABILITY
Furniture design is a complex triangulation, balancing ergonomics, structure, and form. Guerilla furniture design builds upon these fundamental principles, layering in the use of salvaged materials and unconventional building techniques in the pursuit of inexpensive, sustainable solutions. The city is a fertile environment for the design guerilla, offering visual inspiration, cultural resources, and abundant foraging grounds. Like the reuse of existing buildings, guerilla design also uses existing materials for its designs. It\u27s fascinating to see how guerilla furniture design incorporates salvaged materials and unconventional techniques to create sustainable and affordable solutions. This paper focuses on the results by the project ReTex, European project by the architect Ekaterina Namicheva Todorovska and fashion designer Aleksandra Jovanovska which are reusing existing materials and focusing on energy efficiency while promoting sustainability. Overall, ReTex stands as a testament to the power of design to create positive change and promote sustainability in everyday practices. By reimagining the potential of existing materials and transforming them into something new and innovative, we demonstrate the value of conscious design choices in fostering a more sustainable future.
