EXPLORING THE CHALLENGES FOR UNDERGRADUATES IN LEARNING ESSAY WRITING ONLINE DURING THE PANDEMIC: A CASE STUDY
Writing is a very essential skill given that undergraduates have to write a lot during their degree programs. An essay is one of the written products that students are supposed to produce. Usually, students seek teachers’ help, peer assistance, and library aid to master this skill of essay writing. However, due to COVID-19, students lost access to all these benefits as this novel disease affected education, and all educational institutions were closed around the world. Higher Education Commission (HEC) Pakistan instructed the higher education institutes to switch to online mode of learning. Thus, universities started online classes using different learning management systems. Since the online mode of learning is practiced only in a few universities in Pakistan, it was pretty difficult for all stakeholders (administration, teachers, and students) in other universities to switch to a new mode of teaching and learning. This study explored the challenges undergraduates faced in learning essay writing online during the pandemic. The data was collected through semi-structured interviews which were conducted from six participants of essay writing class. Thematic analysis of the data from purposively chosen participants revealed that lack of and unfamiliarity with technological gadgets, unavailability of or poor internet, house chore, attitude of family members, feedback (whether written or oral) from the teachers, and limited interaction with peers or other resources hampered their learning in essay writing class. The study will have implications for teachers and university administrators. The study concludes with directions for future research.

ADDRESSING AND MACEDONIAN GENDER SENSITIVE LANGUAGE
In the recent years, the gender sensitive language (GSL) issues become an interest topic in substantial amount of domestic and foreign research, which indicates that its usage reduces the gender stereotypes and increases the gender equality between man and women. In this sense, the role of the media is especially important. This qualitative research is oriented toward the use of the forms for addressing with nouns that denotes profession/function towards females, with the aim to perceive the way the contact with a female interlocutor is established, i.e. the use of these nouns when address a females. The sample consists of 10 video interviews with public females (doctors, professors, politicians) which are available on Youtube, and the analysis rests upon the coding and the qualitative-interpretative method. The results showcase that there are forms for addressing females with nouns denoting profession/function, both in feminine and masculine with the vocative form or without it. DOWRY TRADİTİON AND TRANSFORMATİON İN MACEDONİAN IMMİGRANTS LİVİNG İN IZMİR
This study analyzes the dowry cultures of individuals who migrated to Izmir, Turkey, through "free migration" from various settlements (Zivegor, Dırjılova, Rostuşa) in Yugoslavia—now North Macedonia—between 1950 and 1960. The analysis highlights the intergenerational changes in dowry practices. The author conducted a field research document dowry elements, with visits to Izmir at different intervals. This approach was chosen in order to provide a detailed and consistent examination of dowry elements, as well as interpretations shaped by migrants\u27 memories over time. The study focused on the Çamdibi and Altındağ neighborhoods in the Bornova district of Izmir, where 17 informants were interviewed. The subject of research of this study is the dowry culture of migrant women living in these two neighbourhoods. A review of the literature revealed that there are no prior studies on these areas and the findings emphasize that dowry serves both, memory-related and identity roles for this community. In the light of the data obtained from the field research revealed that sewing machines and looms, known as razboys, were brought along during the migration. These tools played a significant role in preserving the dowry tradition, enabling its transmission from the first generation of migrants to the second through the memory-related practices of women after migration.

CHRISTIANA DE CALDAS BRITO: BETWEEN SAUDADE AND REVERSE ART
The contribution aims to investigate saudade and reverse art in the Christiana de Caldas Brito’s literary production, a Brazilian writer living in Italy. Saudade, a concept dense of semantic layers, represents a cross-cutting thread, defining a ‘suspended’ existential condition between the memory of a lost past, the tension toward an imaginary future and a present steeped in incompleteness. In the writer\u27s works, the characters embody a condition of perpetual oscillation, carrying with them a sense of lack that is not only deprivation, but also a space of potential transformation. Saudade manifests itself in their experiences as a constructive melancholy, paving the way for the discovery of a more authentic dimension of their existence. The mirror, a key element in the novel The Impatients, becomes a place of access to the unconscious and the ‘reverse’ of reality, an enigmatic territory where a process of identity recomposition takes place. The theme of mending serves as a paradigm for the recovery and reworking of inner lacerations, in a path that recalls the practice of tailoring as a metaphor of the psychological repair. Ecìla discovers herself only after crossing the mirror, a symbol of the boundary between conscious and unconscious, to access the ‘reverse’ of reality, a dimension where the sense of self is revealed in its complexity and depth. Writing, a Bergsonian space of duration, becomes the way of giving voice to a polysemic emotional experience, in which the past, present and future intertwine and blur, creating a plural and dynamic identity.

THE LEGAL REGIME OF INTERNATIONAL COMMERCIAL USAGES IN ROMANIAN LAW
As a result of practice, usages are placed, in international trade, on the border between temptation and
uncertainty. The temptation to resort to them is explained by the non-existence or, as the case may be, the
lacunae nature of the applicable international regulations, as well as by the inadequate nature of the national
regulations. The uncertainty is mainly determined by their unwritten character and, consequently, by the
evidential difficulties.
In this context, the objectives of the present scientific approach propose the outlining of their legal regime,
aiming, on the one hand, at their legal force, and, on the other hand, at identifying the means of overcoming
evidential obstacles. The first perspective evoked aims to identify the legal basis for the application of
customs, investigating in this sense the applicable legal system and the agreement of the parties. The second
perspective, starting from the premise of applying usages, aims to find that written support that would give
them predictability and certainty about the content.
The research is carried out starting from the provisions of the international conventions to which Romania
is a party and, as a subsidiary, the Romanian law possibly applicable to the legal relationship with the title
of lex causae
USE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN THE PUBLIC SECTOR: LEGAL FRAMEWORK AND EXPERIENCES OF THE EU AND THE REPUBLIC OF SERBIA
Artificial intelligence is slowly becoming a general-purpose technology applicable in all areas of social life.
Social existence in a certain territory is determined by the connection of citizens and state institutions, that
is, public exposure and work in favor of the general interest of citizens through various branches of the state
or services known as the public sector. We are thus witnessing the penetration or gradual introduction of
artificial intelligence in the public sector or public administration with the aim of easier servicing and
improvement of the benefits that the state should provide to citizens. The benefits are reflected in the
realization of certain rights of citizens as well as in the improvement of economic activities in which citizens
and society are very interested.
In the paper, we analyze the introduction and use of certain artificial intelligence systems in the public sector,
i.e. in its individual parts, we look at its disjointed elements that vary from country to country, attempts to
establish common terms and patterns, and we investigate sensitive and critical areas of public services based
on the taxonomy EU. In this context, the connection between digitization and the creation of e
administration, which potentially includes artificial intelligence systems, is interesting, requiring capacity
building and the acquisition of new skills and knowledge for public administration employees. The emphasis
in the paper is on the legal framework for their use provided by the EU Regulation on artificial intelligence,
especially on the categorization of certain artificial intelligence systems into prohibited and high-risk
systems that could be used in the public sector. A special part of the paper is devoted to the assessment of
the anticipated use of artificial intelligence systems in the public sector in the Republic of Serbia by
establishing a legal framework with soft law norms such as the Strategy for the Development of Artificial
Intelligence in the Republic of Serbia for the period 2020-2025. which was adopted in 2019 and the Ethical
guidelines for the development, implementation and use of reliable and responsible Artificial Intelligence
from 2023
