    No full text
In this study, Smederevka and Vranec wines from V. vinifera L. cv., the most important and dominant varieties in Macedonia, have been produced in 6 (six) consecutive years applying traditional fermentation methods, in order to study the influence of variety and vintage on the general basic wine quality. The physico-chemical parameters that confirm the basic wine quality have been determined, including alcohol, specific gravity at 20°C, dry extract, reducing sugars, total and volatile acidity, pH, free and total SO2. The results showed that variety significantly affected the chemical composition of wines, presenting higher contents of alcohol, density and dry extract for Vranec wines, while Smederevka wines were richer with total acids and contained higher amount of total SO2. In addition, slight influence of vintage was noticed for both varieties, especially on the alcohol, specific gravity and dry extract contents, for which highest values were noticed in vintage 2017 in Vranec wines, while for Smederevka wines, values were highest in vintage 2020. Principal component analysis showed a clear separation of the wines according to the variety.    &nbsp

    No full text
Pectobacterium carotovorum subsp. carotovorum (formerly Erwinia carotovora subsp. carotovora) is a plant pathogen that causes soft and stem rot diseases in several economically important vegetables such as carrot, cabbage, cucumber, eggplant, garlic, onion, pepper, potato, radish, sweet potato, squash and tomato, where the disease can be detected in the field, transmit, storage and market. Agricultural producers face many challenges in trying to grow crops and ensure stable, high-quality yields. The risk factors involved in agricultural production include climatic conditions, the occurrence of diseases, pests, and weeds. During our field observation, we examined the production of pepper, its economic and nutritional value, and the factors contributing to its decline. Our primary focus is the present status of diseases in pepper, specifically the occurrence of Pectobacterium carotovorum subsp. carotovorum, the causative agent of bacterial soft rot. P. carotovorum subsp. carotovorum is a well-known plant pathogen that causes severe soft rot disease in various crops, resulting in significant economic loss. The aim of this study is to highlight the economic importance of the bacterial agent responsible for soft rot in peppers grown in the open fields in Strumica region. For this purpose, standard bacteriological tests were performed. These tests confirmed the pathogenic, morphological, biochemical, physiological, and growth properties of the pathogen, compared with the control strain KFB85 from the Republic of Serbia

AN ATTEMPT TO INTRODUCE SOUND IMPROVISATION IN PRE-SERVICE TEACHERS’ MUSIC EDUCATION

    No full text
It is widely recognized that the sound of vibrational percussive instruments could contribute to relaxation, mindfulness, and stress reduction. We attempted to introduce these instruments in the pre-service teacher music education. Workshops were designed to include listening instruments, improvisation, sound production and expression of the experience through drawing. A total sample of 130 students from two universities Faculty of Educational Sciences Sarajevo, the Academy of Fine Arts Sarajevo, and the Faculty of Education at the University of Ljubljana, were enrolled in the study. The study aims to explore how students perceived our attempt and if their perceptions are related to the use of music in everyday life. Before the workshop students reported how they regulated mood through music (The Brief Music in Mood Regulation scale (B-MMR). Students’ experiences of the workshops were measured through three-dimensional (affective, cognitive, and conative) Connotative differential scales (CD-9). Results reveal that student’s workshop experiences have a positive meaning in the semantic space. The differences between students from different universities were not statistically significant. Positive affective- evaluative adjectives (pleasant, attractive, and good) have the most important role in describing experiences. Also, highly engaged music users who regulate different moods through music had a stronger tendency to describe workshops’ experiences with positive affective adjectives. The implications of the results for the future use of the introduction sound play and improvisation in teachers’ music education will be discussed

MONITORING OF AC MOTOR SPEED CONTROLLER PARAMETERS TO IoT NETWORK

    No full text
Today\u27s development of electronics mainly takes place in two directions. One direction is based on the technological development of semiconductor elements that will work in a larger current, voltage and frequency range. The other direction is based on the development of information bases and systems that will ensure the collection, visualization, processing and transport of process parameters. The first direction will enable applications in power electronics for higher powers and process speeds, and the second local and remote transmission of process data and their availability in intranet and internet networks. Taking this into account in the paper, an electronic system is designed and implemented that measures, stores and transmits the parameters of a 1-phase AC motor speed controller in an IoT network. The solution enables the visualization of input and output parameters locally on two LCD displays and remotely on an IoT device. A data log file is also provided for the measured values on a local computer and on an IoT cloud computer

THE PRISON OF LUXURY AND FAME. FICTITIOUS IDENTITY FROM FITZGERALD TO DIGITAL CONTEMPORANEITY

    No full text
The paper aims to analyze the construction of identity through luxury and the dynamics of social recognition, comparing the works of F. Scott Fitzgerald with contemporary representations of fame and digital visibility. The intention is to investigate how, in different cultural and media contexts, the symbolic devices linked to material luxury and digital celebrity contribute to the definition and negotiation of personal and collective identity. The research is based on a qualitative and comparative methodology, through the thematic and symbolic analysis of works belonging to different narrative contexts: The Great Gatsby, Tender Is the Night and This Side of Paradise by F. S. Fitzgerald, in which the protagonists pursue material luxury; The Circle by Dave Eggers and Influence by Sara Shepard, in which the need for media approval emerges. The analysis highlights how luxury is not just an external mask, but a strategy to navigate and survive in a society that rewards appearance over substance. The search for social visibility thus becomes a form of self-separation, and fame and public identity become prismatic connotations that destroy human authenticity. The contribution is placed within the scope of Cultural Studies, in a theoretical framework that interprets identities as cultural and historically situated productions, determined by power relations and symbolic devices of inclusion, exclusion and distinction. Particular attention is paid to the mechanisms of visibility and practices of social recognition that regulate access to prestige and symbolic value in contemporary society. Keywords: appearance; celebrity; identity; luxury; mask; visibility

    No full text
A number of studies have investigated the connection between students’ proficiency level and their speaking anxiety, for which mixed results have been presented. Namely, some claim that the more proficient the learner, the lower their anxiety level and vice versa, however, some disagree. This study aims to investigate the possible relationship between language proficiency level and speaking anxiety, contributing to the existing literature for better understanding of the core issues that top and average students experience. Results revealed that the more proficient participants (C1 level) are more relaxed compared to the less proficient participants (B1 level) with the former classified as experiencing “low anxiety” while the latter - “moderate anxiety”. The main issue of the less proficient participants is found to be low self-confidence during speaking activities, which further supports the majority of the past findings, while grammatical correctness is something that high proficient participants are most aware of during speaking activities. The results also showed that both groups do not feel particularly frightened to speak right after receiving corrective feedback. Keywords: proficiency; anxiety; speaking; self-confidence; feedback
