Modelación morfodinámica de un cauce trenzado en Colombia (Río Cusiana)
El presente trabajo analiza la morfodinámica de un tramo trenzado del Río Cusiana, de aproximadamente 6,5 km, ubicado en la transición de la cuenca alta a la cuenca media, aguas abajo del Puente Tauramena-Aguazul en el departamento de Casanare, Colombia, mediante la modelación con Telemac 2D and Sisyphe®, iRIC® e Iber®, con el objeto de identificar el modelo de mejor representatividad para ríos con comportamiento morfodinámico trenzado.
Para el desarrollo de este proyecto se realizó una revisión de la literatura sobre los modelos morfodinámicos que se utilizan alrededor del mundo y en Colombia, para lo que se generó una matriz de modelos y se eligieron los tres más representativos: Telemac 2D and Sisyphe®, iRIC® e Iber®. Posterior a esto, se definió el tramo de estudio, se realizó la investigación de campo (aforos, levantamientos topobatimétricos y recolección de datos) y se calibró los parámetros de cada uno de los modelos para determinar el más adecuado y realizar la correspondiente validación
Implementación de herramientas tecnológicas de geolocalización para mejorar la gestión de residuos sólidos en la fase de recolección para la Universidad de la Salle Sede Candelaria
La gestión de residuos sólidos en la Universidad de la Salle, juega un papel particularmente importante dada la diversidad de temáticas abordadas por las carreras que en su mayoría tienen un componente práctico. Esto ha desencadenado un flujo considerable de personas en la sede Candelaria (que es la más compacta), y por ende requiere de la optimización y sistematización sobre todo de la fase de recolección de residuos.
La gestión de residuos es de gran importancia ya que de esto depende su aprovechamiento adecuado y por ende la segregación. Cabe resaltar que por el aumento de elementos de protección personal (tapabocas, caretas y guantes) a raíz del covid 19, en la Sede Candelaria de la Universidad de La Salle se ubicaron contenedores de disposición temporal donde primaba el criterio del espacio disponible sin una automatización que permita considerar de manera directa puntos críticos, adicional a ello los estudiantes no tienen en cuenta su existencia, motivo por el cual se hace necesario la implementación de herramientas tecnológicas

Considering that what is measured influences what is sought collectively (and vice versa), i.e., that the positioning of certain indicators can influence the way in which societies are perceived and in public policies, the design of a social justice index (SJI) that captures intersectionality is underscored. Testfrom march ofsix minutes in caninepatients with illness chronic valve in great height
The objective of the present study was to recognize the relationship between the variation in plasma lactate concentrations and the arterial pressure of canine patients with chronic valvular heart disease undergoing the 6-minute walk test in high altitude conditions (2650 m.a.s.l.). Seven animals were selected and diagnosed at the cardiology service of the Veterinary Clinic of the University of La Salle, being classified as stage B2 patients according to the classification of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM). Lactate concentration and blood pressure were compared before and after the 6 minutes WT. An average distance walked of 356.14 +/- 92.13 meters was found, which is considerably less than the distances reported in healthy patients under the same environmental conditions. Likewise, a reduction in systolic blood pressure was observed after the walk test (112.71 +/- 31.83 mmHg) compared to the initial values (132.14 +/- 26.67 mmHg) p\u3c0.05. This suggests the presentation of a post-exercise hypotension phenomenon of which so far not many reports have been found in the canine species
Bayesian spatial modeling of COVID-19 case-fatality rate inequalities
The ongoing outbreak of COVID-19 challenges the health systems and epidemiological responses of all countries worldwide. Although preventive measures have been globally considered, the spatial heterogeneity of its effectiveness is evident, underscoring global health inequalities. Using Bayesian-based Markov chain Monte Carlo simulations, we identify the spatial association of socioeconomic factors and the risk for dying from COVID-19 in Colombia. We confirm that from March 16 to October 04, 2020, the COVID-19 case-fatality rate and the multidimensional poverty index have a heterogeneous spatial distribution. Spatial analysis reveals that the risk of dying from COVID-19 increases in regions with a higher proportion of poor people with dwelling (RR 1.74 95%CI = 1.54–9.75), educational (RR 1.69 95%CI = 1.36–5.94), childhood/youth (RR 1.35 95%CI = 1.08–4.03), and health (RR 1.16 95%CI = 1.06–2.04) deprivations. These findings evidence the vulnerability of most disadvantaged members of society to dying in a pandemic and assist the spatial planning of preventive strategies focused on vulnerable communities
Social Entrepreneurship and Colombian Social Work. Case Analysis
Introduction: the social entrepreneurship developed by social work professionals in Colombia poses several challenges in the academic community, highlighting the emergence of social entrepreneurship as new channels to achieve results from addressing problems. Objective: to ask about the characteristics of social entrepreneurs who graduated in social work in Bogotá. Material and methods: a qualitative research are carried out through a case study analysis, using the semi-structured interview technique, in which the main categories of the relationship with the community, relations with the country, resources and management-organization have been studied classified. Results: in community relations, it is essential that social entrepreneurs interact directly with the communities and strengthen the social fabric. In relations with the country, the importance of strengthening the active participation and responsibility of the country, as well as of other actors, is identified. For resource management, social workers identify the importance of working in teams or other skills for the development and implementation of the company. Finally, in management-organization, the importance of poor management of economic and human resources is highlighted, as well as the selfsustainability of social entrepreneurship. Conclusion: there is a need for training in social entrepreneurship processes for social work in Colombia, which allows a change through social impact, such as professional training and alternative employment
Three-Phase Flow Tomography System in Upward-Vertical High-Viscous-Oil/Water/Gas Flow
A new three-phase flow tomography system is presented in this work. The system was developed to be applied in high-viscous-oil/water/gas flow arranged in different flow patterns, with the three fluids present simultaneously in a crossing point. The primary measurement is based on a simpler and reliable digital in-phase/quadrature (IQ) demodulator and a wire-mesh sensor (WMS), but the system is capable of including different types of primary measurements. Dynamic three-phase flow tests were carried out to verify the system performance and compare its results with the ones obtained by quick-closing valves (QCVs) and a high-speed video camera. In situ volumetric fractions and flow patterns were compared. The experiments were conducted in a vertical glass pipe of 50-mm i.d. and 12-m height. The observed three-phase flow patterns were water-continuous churn flow with dispersed bubbles and oil drops (WChBoDo), water-continuous slug flow with Taylor bubbles, spherical bubbles, and oil drops (WPiBoDo), and oil-continuous slug flow with Taylor bubbles, spherical bubbles, and water drops (OPiBoDi). Compared with the measurements using QCVs, the average relative errors of the measured volumetric phase fractions were 12% for water, 13% for air, and 22% for oil. The experimental results, including the details of the flow inside the pipe, the phase distributions, and the objective characterization of flow patterns, suggest that the proposed system is a promising option for three-phase flow-related studies and developments. Un nuevo paradigma está emergiendo con fuerza en el ámbito de la investigación y de la producción empresarial: la economía circular (CE por sus siglas en inglés). La economía circular se está erigiendo como un sistema empresarial y de producción alternativo al tradicional, caracterizado por un ciclo lineal basado en “tomar, fabricar y tirar”. Evaluación del proceso de implementación de la transformación digital en la Jurisdicción Especial para la Paz
La presente investigación se propone como objetivo “evaluar la implementación de trasformación digital en la Jurisdicción Especial para la Paz”. Considerando para ello como principales referentes, en principio, los relacionados con el contexto legal colombiano, así como los aportes de autores como Curbelo, J. (2017), Cuenca-Fontbona, J. M.-P. (2020), Ochoa, L. (2016), la Organización para la Cooperación y el Desarrollo Económico. (2020), Scheller, K. (2020), Zapata, C. (2011), entre otros. Se enmarca en una metodología de enfoque cualitativo, de tipo descriptivo y como método el estudio de caso, al ser aplicado en la Jurisdicción Especial para la Paz de Colombia. Entre los principales resultados se destacan: 1. Existe suficiente legislación, normatividad y documentos técnicos por parte del MinTIC que dan acompañamiento a la transformación digital en las entidades. 2. El modelo de madurez arroja 9 puntos críticos que son susceptibles de incorporar en el plan de mejoras y se relacionan con Habilidades duras; habilidades blandas; cultura digital del personal; cultura de los ciudadanos; necesidades de los usuarios; necesidades de interacción; conocimiento sobre las tecnologías emergentes; brecha entre tecnologías actuales y punteras en el mercado; implementación de nuevas tecnologías. En el plan de mejoras se plantean las estrategias y actividades para mejorar los puntos críticos identificados
