    ANSWERING READING TEXTS ON ENGLISH TRYOUT TEST BASED ON THE 12TH GRADE STUDENTS' STRATEGIES AT SMA NEGERI1 KURIPAN LOMBOK BARAT

    The purpose of this study was to find out the answering reading text on English Tryout Test based on the 12th Grade students' Strategies at SMA Negeri1 Kuripan Lombok Barat in the Academic Year of 2018/2019. The population was 329 students and the sample was XII. A class that consists of 31 students were involved in this study. This study was designed as a descriptive study in analyzing the data. The data was obtained through the questionnaire.  It was to find out which was the mostly strategies used by students among meta-cognitive and cognitive strategies. The result of this study showed that there were two kinds of strategy used by the students: meta-cognitive (80.31%) and cognitive (89.37%) strategies. Moreover, the most dominant meta-cognitive strategies used by students were; setting plans on how to complete the test, aware of the objective of the reading tasks, correct mistakes immediately, and checking the answers of reading tasks carefully before submitting the test. While the most dominant cognitive strategies used by the students were: guessing, scanning, and skimming. The reason why guessing, scanning, and skimming get the highest percentage and being the most dominant strategies chosen was that they were very easy and simple strategies to apply when facing such a reading text. They did not need much time to identify the text. In addition, the reason guessing also got a high percentage because it was the most effective way to use during the test by using a dictionary was not allowed

    Effect of Inquiry Creative Process Learning Models on Improving the Critical Thinking Ability of Prospective Science Teachers

    Critical thinking has become a very important part as one of the goals of learning at the level of higher education in Indonesia and globally, and learning based on inquiry activities is recommended as a teaching foundation for training learners' critical thinking ability. Teaching inventions towards critical thinking must be trained to prospective teacher for better education in the future. This study aims to determine the effect of the Inquiry Creative Learning (ICP) learning model on improving the critical thinking ability of prospective science teachers. This research is an experimental study with the design of "one group pretest-posttest design". The subject of implementation as a research sample were 20 prospective science teacher who is currently studying at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), Mataram University, Indonesia. The data of critical thinking ability were analyzed descriptively and statistically, in which homogeneity test, normality test, and t-test were conducted. The results showed that the ICP learning model had an effect on improving critical thinking ability of prospective science teachers

    INOVASI merupakan lembaga kemitraan Indonesia - Australia yang fokus pada literasi dan numerasi. Salah satu program intervensi yang dijalankan di Kabupaten Sumbawa adalah implementasi pendekatan PDIA di SDN 2 Pungkit. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengetahui bagaimana proses penerapan pendekatan Problem Driven Iterative Adaptation (PDIA) di kelas 1 SDN 2 Pungkit dalam mengatasi kesulitan belajar matematika siswa. PDIA merupakan sebuah pendekatan yang digunakan oleh INOVASI dalam mencari tahu bagaimana meningkatkan kualitas proses dan hasil pembelajaran dalam numerasi dengan menggunakan pendekatan yang dirancang untuk mencari solusi lokal dalam mengatasi masalah-masalah lokal dan khusus dalam pembelajaran. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus tentang bagaimana penerapan PDIA dalam mengatasi kesulitan belajar siswa. Subjek penelitian ini terdiri dari satu orang guru kelas 1 SDN 2 Pungkit. Metode pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara observasi dan kajian literatur. Teknik analisis data dilakukan dalam empat tahapan yaitu, koleksi data, reduksi data, menyajikan data dan verifikasi atau kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa implementasi pendekatan PDIA dilaksanakan dalam lima tahapan yaitu, 1) eksplorasi, 2) sintesis, 3) perancangan, 4) coba gagasan, 5) kaji ulang. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan PDIA mampu membuat siswa lebih aktif melalui pemanfaatan media konkrit dan metode diskusi. Hasil lainnya juga menunjukkan bahwa hasil belajar semua siswa tuntas terhadap KKM

    Soap is a necessity for daily life, such as for bathing, washing, and cleaning other necessities. Normally various kinds of bacteria and fungi can live permanently on the skin, for example, such as thebacteria Staphyloccocus aureus. Antibacterial soap is used as a solution to this bacterial problem. Sumbawa oil is a natural ingredient that has the potential to be antibacterial in body wash. Sumbawa oil contains geraniol and citronellal, flavonoids, polyphenols and also contains saponins and tannins. The research objective was to find out what volume of Sumbawa oil is used to obtain the quality of liquid bath soap which has antibacterial content and meets SNI standards. This research is an experimental research in a laboratory by varying the volume of Sumbawa oil. The parameters measured in this study were the effect of variations in the volume of Sumbawa oil on antibacterial properties and pH of liquid bath soap. The findings in this study that the best antibacterial properties were found in the addition of 15 ml volume of Sumbawa oil with an average inhibition zone of 19.5-22.3 mm and a pH of 5 ml of Sumbawa oil volume with an average pH of 6.1. Based on the above findings, it can be concluded that the addition of Sumbawa oil has an effect on the antibacterial properties and pH of liquid bath soap.

    Speaking Skill through Task Based Learning in English Foreign Language Classroom

    Speaking is one way to express ourselves when communicate. Most of students fail when they perform speaking skill. They faced problems in expressing themselves using in accurate, fluent and even simple sentences. Task based learning is an approach that need the completion of meaningful tasks. Task Based Learning focuses on the use of language for genuine in communication.  This study used quasi experimental research. The sample of the study is Fourth Semester of English education study program of Baturaja University with the total sample 36 students. The data is conducted of two groups: one experimental group and one control group taught conventionally. Based on the data analysis the researcher concluded that task based learning was effective to improve the students’ speaking skill in EFL Classroom. The result data from the mean score of posttest in experimental class was 49,11and the mean score of posttest in control class was 51,88 . While, the value of sig. (2-tailed)=0.000 less than significant level (α=0.05), it meant that alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted and the null hypothesis (Ho) was rejected. The researcher concluded the result of posttest in experimental higher than the result of posttest in control class. It means that task based learning was significantly improve the students’ speaking skill at fourth semester of English education study program of Baturaja University. Based on the finding on questionnaire, it could be described that almost the students gave positive response on the use of task based learning. The students strongly agree that task based learning help them enjoy in learning English and they also mostly agree that task based activities is a good way to improve English vocabulary

    Using Puppet Media in Improving the Speaking Ability of Junior High School Students 4 Waru Sidoarjo

    To improve student achievement in EFL English, it was necessary and urgent to implement the model of innovative learning and constructive learning was through monologues that used this doll property. Property dolls were used to increase student motivation and provide a different atmosphere in learning to talk (speaking). Since all knowledge, dexterity, and skills had practical value. By obtaining the three men would more easily meet the desired of development. The important lesson here was not that we can achieve through the lesson. The subjects of this study were the 7th-grade student of Junior high school in Waru Sidoarjo. Classroom Action Research was designed in 2 cycles, respectively - each cycle consisting of the planning, execution, observation, and reflection. Research instrument and its action plan (teaching materials, observation sheets, and questionnaires) prepared by the researcher. The resulted in the first cycle based on observations. The evidence in the first cycle was not completed by 10 students or 25%, and a total of 30 students or 75%. These data show that the first cycle was not finished in the classical method as the standard was 85%. While the results of descriptive monologue presentations on the second cycle value - an average 81.75, while in the first cycle was 75.9. From these data, there was an increase of 5.85. Thus, the results obtained were consistent with the hypothesis proposed action, namely the use of appropriate doll media can improve the ability to speak in descriptive monologues for EFL

    Development of Android-Based Appy Pie Learning Media on Mathematics in Elementary School

    This research aimed to develop Android-based Appy Pie learning media in mathematics subjects, especially two-dimensional shape material. Moreover, to determine the validity level of the android-based Appy Pie learning media developed and to determine the students' responses after using android-based Appy Pie learning media. This research uses the 3D model (define, design, and development) as the modification result of the 4D model by Thiagarajan. The subjects of this research were 45 fourth-grade students of SDN Rawu. The result of this research is the average score of media experts validation is 91.11% which included in the “very feasible” category, the average score of material expert validation is 98.33% which included in the “very feasible” category. The average score of the students response is 91.11% that included in the “very good” category, so it can be concluded that the Android-based Appy Pie learning media is feasible to use in the two-dimensional shape material of fourth-grade

    Salah satu masalah pembelajaran yang dihadapi siswa SMP Negeri 1 Labuapi khususnya kelas VIIIC semester II tahun pelajaran 2011/2012 adalah pembelajaran yang masih didominasi oleh guru. Siswa hanya mendengakan materi yang disampaikan sehingga siswa kurang berpartisipasi dalam kegiatan pembelajaran. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan suatu model pembelajaran yang mampu mengajak siswa berperan lebih aktif dalam kegiatan pembelajaran. Model pembelajaran tersebut adalah Problem Based Instruction (PBI). Model Problem Based Instruction adalah model pembelajaran yang menggunakan masalah dunia nyata sebagai suatu konteks bagi siswa untuk belajar tentang cara berpikir kritis dan keterampilan pemecahan masalah, serta untuk memperoleh pengetahuan dan konsep yang esensal dari materi pelajaran. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas yang dilakukan dalam II (dua) siklus. Pendekatan yang dilakukan adalah pendekatan kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Tehnik pengumpulan data yang dilakukan adalah melalui lembar observasi dan pembelian tes pada akhir siklus. Instrument penelitian antara lain 1). Tes evaluasi belajar siswa, 2) Lembar observasi kegiatan siswa, 3) lembar observasi kegiatan guru. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan peningkatan baik dari segi aktivitas  maupun prestasi belajar siswa. Pada siklus I pertemuan 1 dan pertemuan 2, sekor rata-rata aktivitas  2,58 dan 2,88 dengan kategori cukup aktif sedangkan pada Siklus II Petemuan 1 dan Pertemuan 2 skor rata-rata aktivitas siswa sebesar 3,08 dan 3,33 dengan kategori aktif. Dan nilai rata kelas pada siklus I sebesar sebesar 51,94 dan siklus II sebesar 67. Maka dapat disimpulkan melalui penerapan Model Problem Based Instruction (PBI) dapat meningkatkan aktivitas dan prestasi belajar siswa kelas VIII Semester II SMP Negeri 1 Labuapi pada materi pokok Lingkaran Tahun Pelajaran 2011/201

    Abstrak: Rumusan masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah apakah ada pengaruh konseling humanistik terhadap sikap kejujuran pada siswa kelas XI SMAN 1 Seteluk tahun pelajaran 2019/2020. Tujuan yang ingin dicapai dalam penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh konseling humanistik terhadap sikap kejujuran pada  siswa kelas XI SMAN 1 Seteluk tahun pelajaran 2019/2020. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan desain one group pree test dan post test design. Dalam penelitian ini populasi siswa berjumlah 40 orang dengan 10 orang siswa sebagai sampel yakni yang memiliki sikap kejujuran terendah. Teknik sampling yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah purposive random sampling. Sedangkan teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah angket, observasi, wawancara, serta dokumentasi. Dan untuk menganalisis data menggunakan rumus t-test, dimana analisis data t hitung sebesar 6,794 dengan nilai t tabel pada taraf signifikansi 5% dengan db (N-1) = 9 sebesar 2,262. Dengan demikian nilai t hitung lebih besar daripada nilai t pada tabel (6,794>2,262), sehingga dapat disimpulkan Ada pengaruh konseling humanistik terhadap sikap kejujuran pada siswa kelas XI SMAN 1 Seteluk 2019/2020. dinyatakan Signifikan. Kata Kunci : Konseling Humanistik, Sikap Kejujura

    Abstrak: Penelitian ini menjawab rumusan masalah, apakah ada Hubungan Program Bina Keluarga Lansia (BKL) Terhadap Kualitas Hidup Lanjut Usia Di Panti Sosial Tresna Werdaha Puspa Karma Mataram Tahun 2019.  Kemudian penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui Hubungan Program Bina Keluarga Lansia (BKL) Terhadap Kualitas Hidup Lanjut Usia Di Panti Sosial Tresna Werdha Puspa Karma Mataram Tahun 2019. Subjek penelitian ini adalah lansia, kemudian metode penentuan subjek pada penelitian ini adalah studi populasi karna jumlah subjek kurang dari 100 orang melainkan hanya 20 orang. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu angket sebagai metode utama, observasi dan dokumentasi sebagai metode pelengkap. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan yaitu rumus statistik korelasi product momen Dari hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada Hubungan Program Bina Keluarga Lansia (BKL) Terhadap Kualitas Hidup Lanjut Usia Di Panti Sosial Tresna Werdha Puspa Karma Mataram. Hal ini diperkuat dari hasil perhitungan korelasi product momen yang menghasilkan nilai 50,704. Hal ini berarti bahwa hipotesis nol (H0) ditolak sedangkan (Ha) diterima. Berdasarkan dari perhitungan tersebut bisa dikatakan bahwa hubungan yang terjadi  dari  Program Bina Keluarga Lansia (BKL) Terhadap Kualitas Hidup Lanjut Usia Di Panti Sosial Tresna Werdha Puspa Karma Mataram sangat tinggi. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah adanya Hubungan Program Bina Keluarga Lansia (BKL) Terhadap Kualitas Hidup Lanjut Usia Di Panti Sosial Tresna Werdha Puspa Karma Mataram.Kata kunci: Program Bina Keluarga Lansia
