The Possibility of Vice-Presidents’ Authority Arrangement in the 1945 Constitution through Constitutional Amendment

    Get PDF
The debate over the vice-presidents’ authority reappeared in the administration of President Jokowi after the “authority expansion of the Chief of Presidency Staff†and the case of “Rizal Ramli vs Jusuf Kallaâ€. This article is intended to provide arguments for the idea of some parties to organize more explicit and detailed the authority of vice-president in the 1945 Constitution. The idea arises from the absence of further arrangement on the authority of vice-president in the 1945 Constitution. This article is systematized into 3 (three) sub-theme; 1) the arrangement of the vice-presidents’ authority in the constitution for several countries; 2) The authority of the vice president according to the 1945 Constitution, and 3) New resultant and the possibility of 1945 Constitution amendment. The result revealed a number of interesting things; 1) the constitutions of other countries do not specify the authority of the vice-president and put the vice-president as a “spare tire†when the president is absent; 2) no new resultant about the position and authority of the vice-president so that theoretically is not reason enough to regulate in detail the authority of the vice-president through the 1945 Constitution amendment; 3) arrangement in detail in the authority of vice-president in the 1945 Constitution holds the potential to confuse the presidential system design as the 1945 Constitution. Therefore, the possibility of vice-presidents’ authority arrangement in the 1945 Constitution through amendment is very small, both in terms of momentum and the substance of issues

    Get PDF
This study reports geochemistry and mineralization characteristics of Sungai Mak deposit in Gorontalo, Northern Sulawesi, Indonesia. SiO₂ and K₂O+Na₂O (Total Alkali Silica or TAS diagram) show that the intrusive rock found in this deposit are granodiorite. Ore minerals consist of chalcopyrite, pyrite, bornite, digenite and covellite which were confirmed by microscopy and SEM-EDS analysis of polished section. Gold mineralization was confirmed by X-ray Fluorescence Analysis. The result of plotted gold grade and copper grade show a positive relationship showing a similarity to another porphyry copper deposit in Tombolilato Distrit located in the southern part of the studied area. By characteristic of combination of ore minerals, there is boundary of primary sulfide zone and intrusive rock in around 160 m from surface. As a result of measurement of the gas-liquid two-phase fluid inclusions that were contained in quartz stock work (width 1 - 3cm), salinity is 2.4-17.8%, homogenization temperature is 282-326ºC (mode value 320ºC). The alteration mineral of intrusive rock was identified by thin section observation and XRD was quartz, chlorite, illite and pyrophyllite. From observation of thin section, hornblende and plagioclase was confirmed as rock forming mineral and these show porphyritic structure

Pleistocene Coral Reef Facies in Bira, South Sulawesi

    Get PDF
Pleistocene coral reefs in eastern part of Indonesia formed terraces and commonly have a narrow size such as the reef in Bulukumba region. They expresses highly tectonized or uplifted area. This research is located at Bira District of Bulukumba Regency or in the southern tip of South Sulawesi Peninsula. The objective of this research is to define depositional environment based on coral reef development and to interpret palaenvironment during the reef development. Several methods were applied such as intersect lines which are perpendicular to the cliff, petrographic analyses, as well as palaeoenvironment interpretation. Three facies are described at the Pleistocene reef showing he environmental development, namely 1) Reef Fron Facies, 2) Reef Core Facies, 3) Back Reef Facies. Based on facies association and organism accumulation, the depositional environment of Pleistocene reefis interpreted to be developed in a reef complex

    Flexural Behavior of Styrofoam-Filled Concrete

    Get PDF
Various kinds of innovations have been made to obtain lightweight concrete, for example using Styrofoam as partial replacement of aggregates. The objective of this study was to analyze the flexural behavior of Styrofoam-filled Concrete (SFC) by adding Styrofoam 30 % to replace the concrete volume. The testing was carried out on three variations specimens with a total of 6 specimens, which each variation consist of 2 specimens. The characteristic of Normal Concrete (NC) and SFC was first evaluated. Then, the behavior of SFC beam was compared with the behavior of NC beam and SFC with CFRP strengthening (SFC-CFRP). The specimens were statically loaded using two-point load system with constant speed ramp actuator at 0.1 mm/second until the beam failure. The results indicate that the strength of normal concrete (NC) and SFC has decreased with addition of 30% Styrofoam. However, when the SFC beam was combined with deformed bar, the ultimate bending strength of SFC specimens increase 12.6% compared to the NC specimens. Similarly, the ultimate strength of SFC-CFRP specimens improved by 39.74% compared to the SFC specimens

Type of Gold Hydrothermal Deposits on Metamorphic Rock District Buru, Province Maluku

    Get PDF
An investigation on gold occurrence in Buru island is needed to determine type of deposit in the area. This study aims to analyse mineralisation, alteration and metamorphic facies of metamorphic-hosted gold deposit in Buru area by using petrographic method, x-ray flourescense, x-ray diffraction, and polish section. The results reveral that there are two types of metamorphic rocks: schists and phyllite. Greenschist facies are charecterized by muscovite mineral, quartz, chlorite, biotite, clay mineral, and codierite. Phyllite is in the same genetic condition with schist (medium metamorphism), with formation temperature ranges from 300°C to 450°C with a pressure around 1-8 Kbar through a regional metamorphism process. Alteration in quartz veins indicated the nature of proximal zone to ore zone. Silicic alteration (quartz) is also found intensely, and it is generally associated by propylitic alteration (chlorite) and sericitic (muscovite). Mineralisation follows the direction of the distribution of quartz veins with crustiform banding texture. The quartz vein thickness is from 40 cm to 50 cm. The alteration and mineralisation occurrence of the studied area suggests epithermal gold deposits type

Alternative Food Networks Development and Multiple Actors’ Participation in China: A Review

    Get PDF
This article reviews the studies about the alternative food network development in China, summarizes the results and identifies the issues for further research. It first introduces different theoretical perspectives in alternative food network studies in China, including community supported agriculture, nested market, short food supply chains and producerconsumer connection. The causes of rising alternative food networks are the serious food safety problem, the un-balanced power between different actors in the mainstream agrofood system and the increasing number of middle income citizens. Its development close relates to the changes in the international agro-food system. And the government dominates the establishment of the certification system and give limited support to the emerging food networks. The consumers and majority of producers are social elites, and the small scale farmers participate in the networks under the support of intermediaries. Further studies can pay more attention to following issues: the landscape of alternative food networks development in China, the value construction processes between different actors, the role of companies in alternative food network construction and introducing technical perspective of ecological agriculture into research

Sociotechnical Change and Institutional Adjustment in Paddy Rice Farming During Post Green Revolution in Indonesia

    Get PDF
The development of rice field agriculture in Indonesia has entered the post green revolution phase. The sociotechnical changes occurred during the green revolution, the economic gap among farmers also ensued amid the increase in production while the social sustainability was maintained. The research purpose is to analyze the institutional adjustment conducted by the farmer society in facing the problems caused by green revolution in order to maintain the social sustainability. For the purpose mentioned above, the case study was carried out in a village in a center of green revolution. The result of the research shows that: (1) The sociotechnical changes had been taking place during the pre-green revolution era, green revolution, and post-green revolution in the form of land management, seeds procurement, planting and managing the crops, and harvest and post-harvest. The sociotechnical changes encouraged the increase in agricultural production in which created the gap between the affluent and the underprivileged in a village and had the potential to disturb the social sustainability of rice field agribusiness. (2) The institutional adjustment occurred in the sociotechnical changes in the forms of land ownership dynamics, employment dynamic and village’s new occupation dynamic. This institutional adjustment has the function to dampen the tension on the marginalized individual actor caused by the post green revolution new social structure. (3) The social sustainability in the rice field agriculture could be maintained because the social tension caused by the post green revolution social technical changes could be dampened by the institutional adjustment. The institutional adjustment by the village community contributed into the social sustainability of the rice field agribusiness

Corporate Social Responsibility in the Rule of Law and Welfare State Concept

    Get PDF
The provision of the Law Number 40 of 2007 concerning Limited Company on Corporate Social Responsibility has changed the nature of such responsibility from voluntary into mandatory. Similarly, it strengthened welfare state (verzorgings staat) concept as commanded by Article 33 (3) and (4) of the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia. Denaturing of this Corporate Social Responsibility is progressively assured by the Decision of Indonesian Constitutional Court, so that responsibility must be performed as legal responsibility or mandatory

Land Tenure of the Malay People in North Sumatera: From Normative Trap to the Historical Denial

    Get PDF
The following brief analysis is trying to look at the shifting mechanism of land rights of the Malay people from a historical perspective. The point of analysis stems from the description contained in the literature of customary laws produced by some academics and of the Dutch colonial officials. It subsequently runs using of some secondary materials and other colonial-based archives. The analysis finally concludes that in the span of nearly a half of a century, since the period of the Dutch, Japanese capitulation, the period of independence, the land rights of the Malay people has become a “toy play†of the ruling regimes, with all formulas being implemented in each period. The laws imposed upon this well-known fertile land have been successfully enriching the rulers and a wide range of business people with strong access to it
