THE ROLE OF CUSTOMER ENGAGEMENT ON CUSTOMER LOYALTY: A STUDY AT A PRIVATE HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTION
Today, consumers are no longer merely passive recipients of services provided by companies. Consumer's pervasiveness in their service consumption is the embodiment of Goods-Dominant Logic into Service-Dominant Logic paradigm shift. With this shift, consumers are now have the potential to be an effective corporate marketing agent. Private university, as the provider of education services whose survival depends on student participation and funding, is expected to be able to implement the right strategy in the face of the paradigm shift. This study aims to examine the effect of student engagement on student satisfaction. The effect of student satisfaction was then examined on student loyalty. The respondents of 140 students and former students of STIA Al Fithrah in Surabaya became the sample of this study. The results showed that student engagement has an important role to the development of student loyalty
Agricultural Development-Marketing Nexus: Is Tengkulak truly Enemy of Smallholders in Indonesian Rural Area?
This paper notes that a serious difficulty of smallholders in Indonesia is improving marketing networks of agricultural products. The marketing network in rural area is dominated by the brokers (called tengkulak). Smallholders do not have options to finance their production except for borrowing capital input from the tengkulak. Then the tengkulaks’ money will be repaid by smallholders in terms of agricultural products. It is true that smallholders get capital input, as well as daily life desires easily, on one hand. However, it also true that smallholders have no choice and they are ‘choked’ by the tengkulak in terms of price discrimination on the other hand. This phenomenon affects smallholder’s income. However, the tengkulak plays an important role in smallholder community. The first role is Financial/Capital Input provider. The tengkulak provides access to capital inputs for smallholders who are not able to get formal credit (banks). The second role is Production Process. The tengkulak facilitates smallholders in providing agricultural inputs. The third role is of Post-Production/ Marketing. The tengkulak enables smallholders to sell their agriculture products easily. The forth is Socio-religious role. Smallholders need money for schooling fees, medical care, donation for socio- religious activity by borrowing money from tengkulak without any administrative procedures. These facts above depicts that tengkulak is not truly enemy for smallholders
The Implementation of Receivables Write-Off of the State-Owned Banks in Indonesia
This research reviews two issues: Firstly, it describes the imple-mentation of the receivable write-off of State-Owned Bank (BUMN Banks) in Indonesia, and secondly, it describes the relevance of the independence principles of directors and Good Corporate Governance to the implementation of receivables write-off of state-owned banks in Indonesia. This research uses normative and empirical juridical approaches. The normative approach includes research on the independence principles of directors and Good Corporate Governance to the implementation of receivables write-off of the state-owned bank, while empirical research is conducted to determine the process of claim abolishment by state-owned banks in Indonesia. The outcomes of the research indicate that the unresolved legal problem related to the state financial position in the state-owned banks due to conflict of public and private law norms causes the directors of state-owned banks have not dared to do the process of claim abolishment. Therefore, consi-dering that the principle of autonomy of directors and good corporate governance is enforced properly, no one is concerned about the risk of corporate policies related to the process of claim abolishment from a state-owned bank because, in its very essence, it is a Business Judgment Rule in the banking business practice

This research was conducted in Bone Bolango Regency, Gorontalo Province. It is a legal research by using normative and empirical approaches. The results show that the Robusta Pinogu coffee in the market will be more secure than counterfeiting by parties who are not entitled to use the mark of Geographical Indication of Robusta Pinogu Coffee. however, it is expected to realize legal protection in the form of registration of geographical indication of Robusta Pinogu coffee for coffee farmer community so as to increase their economic level
Customary Law of Larwul Ngabal in the Implementation of Regional Autonomy in North Moluccas
The Kei Islands of Southeast Moluccas, like other parts of Indonesia, have a customary order and cultural diversity. The values of local wisdom existing in the Kei community, which is contained in the customary law of Larwul Ngabal, is a very important cultural social capital in the social integration of its society. The type of study was an empirical research with sociological-anthropological juridical approach. The results show that the existence of customary law of Larwul Ngabal supports the implementation of regional autonomy with full authority and reinforcement in local regulations based on local wisdom in Kei Island. The dominant factors that caused the values of customary law of Larwul Ngabal have not provided legal strength in the implementation of local government is because it is determined by the recruitment factor of the leader who lacks capacity and competence. Added to the polarization of political parties and the values of local wisdom on financial strength in determining leadership. Therefore, to realize good local governance in Kei Islands, the values of customary law of Larwul Ngabal in various Local Regulations and local government policies must be accommodated, keeping in mind the custom, governmental and religious factors that are the foundation of Kei community life
Coliform Distribution Around The Antang Landfill Soil Makassar City, South Sulawesi
Tamangapa Antang landfill in its operation was conducted by open dumping, which potentially contaminate the surrounding soil. Research has been conducted on the distribution of Coliform bacteria as soil contaminants around Antang Landfill in Makassar City. This research aimed to determine to what extent the distribution of Coliform bacteria contaminate the soil around Antang Landfill. The sampling was divided into 4 Lines, 2 Lines were in the direction of the groundwater flow (Line A and Line C) and 2 Lines were perpendicular to the groundwater flow (Line B and Line D), at the depth of 0 to 10 cm, 10 to 20 cm and 20 to 30 cm. Samples were analyzed using Nutrient Agar and Biochemical Test method. The results show that Coliform Bacteria have spread vertically on Topsoil. The highest abundance population of Coliform bacteria was detected in Line B (240 cfu/gr) at 10 to 20 cm depth, Line D (210 cfu/gr) at 0 to 10 cm depth, Line A (110 cfu/gr) at 10 to 20 cm depth and Line B (23 cfu/gr) at 0 to 10 cm depth. The abundance of Coliform bacteria in the soil is very potential to contaminate the bio-soil environment, plants, damage the soil surface and structure around the Antang Landfill

Model Simulation of Building Intensity on Optimization Roadway Level of Service Direction
The high volume of traffic movement in corridor artery road Jenderal Sudirman - Dr. Sam Ratulangi of the Makassar city, resulted from the intensity of land use for business activities, trade and services causing problems of transportation. This study aims to analyze the importance of the effect of building intensity in the road corridor and formulate the direction of building intensity to optimize the level of a service road. The variable test influence that contributes to trip attraction, including traffic volume, road capacity, a degree of saturation, ground floor coefficient and building floor. The direction approach of the intensity of people / building units is an example case to formulate the optimization of service level of the road network. The method of multiple linear regression analysis was used to describe a descriptive quantitative influence test. The results showed Level of Service road corridors including critical (D). The movement generated by land use amounted to 4,776 pcu/hour or 87% of total movement. Variables that affect the magnitude of the trip attractions are group changes of the recommended activities, such as Mother and Child Hospital, Horison Hotel, Wisma Kalla, Ratulangi Medical Center and School Foundation. For changes to the type of activity group that is prohibited, among others: PT. PLN, KFC, Mall Ratu Indah, and New Agung store. The results of a simulation model of influence of activity type on building and limit of the floor area of the building; and the number of people/buildings using DS = 0.74 with the trip ceiling of 3,207.94 pcu / hour, resulting in the maximum average floor area of the building varies
Deviation Value of CTDI100 for Phantom Regional Territories by Using Chamber Ionization Detector
Determining CTDI100 and CTDI100 deviation values at the central and side region of the phantom by using head protocols have been performed as CT-Scan test parameters. Methods and materials of Axial CT scanning are used at the head phantom that contains a chamber ionization detector. The head phantom is a PMMA given a hole in the middle of the phantom, the top side (clockwise 12), right side (clockwise 3), bottom side (clockwise 6) and left side (clockwise 9). Head phantom has 16 cm of diameter and 15 cm of length. In this study, to determine the comparison of CTDI100 values at the phantom center against all sides phantom against CTDI100 factory baseline values. The result shows that the comparison of CTDI100 at the top side is highest value about 26.87 mGy and the smallest at the bottom side about 25,15 mGy. On the right side is 26.12 mGy, on the left side is 25.92 mGy, and at the center is 25.84 mGy. For smaller deviations at the center is 9.82% compared to other phantom sides, the highest deviation value at the bottom side is 12.83% while at the top side is 12.05%, at right side is 11.65% and at the left side is 11.72 %, but this deviation value is still within the tolerance limit of ≤ 20%
LABOR EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES IN COFFEE PRODUCTION IN SOUTHERN LAO PEOPLE’S DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC
General debate on the issue of labor employment is related to employment opportunity, pattern of labor employment, the contribution to labor employment, and the impact of labor employment on livelihoods. This paper examines labor employment opportunities through different ethnic perspectives, especially labor employment opportunities in coffee production, a non-traditional agricultural export (NTAE) product, as a case. The objectives of this study are to investigate the pattern of labor employment and to examine the impacts of the employment on the labor livelihoods. Qualitative method was applied to collect empirical data in four villages and five coffee planter-exporter companies in Pakxong District, Champasak Province, and Lao Ngam District, Salavanh Province, Lao PDR. Stakeholder consultation was held in relation to promotion of NTAE. Data analysis for this paper includes thematic analysis and narrative method. Findings show that there are many patterns of labor employment in coffee production: daily paid employment, monthly paid employment, and contracting employment. Wage laborers are from different ethnic groups who live in the same village, villages from outside, nearby villages, districts in the same province, and other provinces. Generally, the employment provides laborer with benefits. The laborers receive wage income and other additional benefits from employment in coffee production. The laborers benefit the most from a monthly salary and contracted employment compared to daily paid employment. The monthly paid employment secures employment status, provides additional benefits including welfare schemes such as medical care, accommodation, food provision, and telecommunication fees. The laborers, however, prefer to work as daily labor which provides incentive and is flexible for both the laborers and employers. In addition, migrant laborers experienced some negative impacts on their livelihood while working in a coffee garden such as working long hours, changing living style, and conflict with colleague workers and employers. The study suggests that related public and private agencies have to work closely with the farmers to regulate their workers’ employment conditions to be in line with the national labor code of conduct.Â
