    No full text
The effectiveness of the internet as a medium for offering educational packages must be assessed as more tertiary institutions in Nigeria investigate creating educational materials and programmes for distribution via the internet to supplement traditional classroom instruction. With the growth of social media, internet-assisted learning is progressively gaining popularity among young people in school. With its highly competitive e-commerce, e-medical, e-transportation, and e-learning structure, internet learning is acknowledged on a global scale in a digitally civilized society. Beyond the population of school age, individuals need to be aware of and accept how technology is influencing all aspects of their lives. The management of such advancements must be addressed at the learning enterprise\u27s instructional levels. The paper presents an exploratory study that examined the viability of integrating conventional teaching techniques with e-learning in Nigeria. This combination is under the purview of educational policies and implementation frameworks for management. By investigating potential causes/scenarios for the performance and attitude of sampled students toward e-learning, we offer implications and consequences of internet-based education on student learning

This paper focused on observational techniques that could be used in the classroom by the teacher to assess learning experiences, learning outcomes, and behavioral exhibitions during teaching and learning. Observational techniques could be used as instruments of formative assessment. Teachers can adopt them as formative assessment techniques to make decisions about what students will achieve at the end of the class, that is, their learning targets. Observational techniques are non-test techniques such as checklist, anecdotal records, rating scales, and technology which are needed by teachers to impart learning, improve learning and measure students’ learning. Observation is an assessment tool through which students’ learning abilities, learning experiences, and level of performance can increase or be improved. Through observation teachers can facilitate, modify, laud, and stimulate their students. However, in this post COVID-19 era, the hybrid mode of teaching which integrates online and physical methods is mostly adopted. Since observation in classroom requires that the teacher records what he/she directly observes, it can therefore, be done using both online one-on-one encounter. Through observational techniques the gap created by COVID-19 pandemic on the learning and performance level of students can be fille

The study investigated the effect of project-based learning on computer science education students’ academic achievement in computer networking in tertiary institutions in Bayelsa State. Two research questions guided the study while three hypotheses were tested at .05 level of significance. Quasi experimental design was adopted for the study. The population comprised 136 second year students. There was no sampling because the population was manageable. The instrument for data collection was Computer Networking Achievement Test (CNAT). The instrument was validated by three research experts and the internal consistency of .80 was determined using Kuder-Richardson Formula (K-R20). The experiment involved the use of project-based learning to teach computer networking and it lasted for four weeks. Mean and standard deviation scores were used in answering the research questions while Analysis of Covariance (ANCOVA) was used in testing the hypotheses. The findings of the study revealed that the use of project-based learning enhances students’ academic achievement in computer networking more than the lecture method. There was an improved academic achievement among the male than their female counterparts in the experimental group when taught with project-based learning. Based on the findings, the study recommended that Tertiary institutions in Bayelsa State should consider integrating project-based learning into the teaching of learning of computer networkin
