    No full text
This study described ICT-based innovative instructional designs in the post Covid-19 pandemic world. Thus, the use of emerging technologies became inevitable in the society, especially in education industry, to reduce personal contact to the barest minimum. The paper was divided into four different parts in order to do justice to it. The first stage covers the important of using ICT-based instructional media in the post covid-19 pandemic world. Second stage explained the use of Innovative pedagogical approaches. In the third stage the paper listed and discussed some ICT-based innovative instructional designs. The last part covers some benefits of emerging technology. This study made use of published journals, e-books as foundation of its secondary data collection. Sequel to the above expose, some important recommendations were made. The use of ICT-based instructional designs in the classroom teaching and learning is very important because emerging technologies have become a profound means of teaching students today in their different location at the same time. Governments should enhance research by equipping research institutes with emerging technologies which facilitates research activities. By using these emerging technologies, students learning at their convenient and in their different locations in their learning activities. Therefore, ICT-based instructional designs, emerging technologies, facilitates learning and makes easier for educators and students to update themselves in the recent discoveries in education industry

This paper discusses innovative teaching methods in science education after the COVID- 19 pandemic era. Due to the COVID- 19 epidemic, schools and institutions have been forced to move to online learning and have encountered several difficulties. As a result, scientific education has started to rely more and more on modern pedagogical approaches that are more adapted to distance learning. This study examines several innovative educational practices, the issues the epidemic presents, the effectiveness of those techniques in addressing those challenges, and prospective prospects for advancing science education. In doing so, it will examine innovative methods for teaching science, point out the need for more varied approaches, and evaluate how novel pedagogical approaches affect student engagement and knowledge acquisition. Conventional teaching methods take care of learners centred and media interactions for example teaching with zoom and other varied examples

    No full text
In a post-pandemic era, this study looked into the online eclectic approach to teaching English as a foreign language. The study was conducted using a survey research design. Review of study-related literature was conducted. 10,478 learners from the 31 schools in Enugu Education Zone consisted the study\u27s population, together with 69 English language instructors. 122 students and 45 teachers were chosen using a disproportionate stratified selection procedure. For data collection, a validated Likert-type questionnaire, a check list and an observational schedule were created. Data were organized and evaluated in accordance with the study questions. The study\u27s conclusions included, among others, the following: Few online eclectic techniques are used in teaching English as a foreign language in the post-pandemic era, and traditional teacher-centered approaches still predominate in English classrooms. These results lead to the conclusion that the Online Eclectic Approach makes it simpler and more feasible for students to acquire a second language. In order to teach English communication skills at all educational levels. It was proposed that decision-makers and curriculum developers adopt an online eclectic approac

    No full text
The study inquired into the principals’ usage of the skills for motivation and delegation to influence the performance of teachers in the area of study. All 293 school principals constitute the population. Five (5) Local government areas were randomly selected for the study and their teachers were the respondents. Two research questions provided a guide to the study. A “Questionnaire of Motivation and Delegation skills of Principals’ was adopted to obtain information from the respondents. A modified Likert’s four-point rating scale was used to rate the instrument, with 2.50 as an accepted mean score. Mean (X) and standard deviation (SD) were used in answering the research questions while the ‘t’ test was used for the hypothesis at a significant level of 0.05. As revealed by the results, principals apply the skills for motivation and delegation of duties to a very low level. Furthermore, the result shows that the difference in the mean ratings of the respondents for urban and rural principals is not significant. These prompted the recommendation for training of principals on the skills for management of staff especially for motivation and delegation of duties. Government should also make use of supervision reports to enhance performanc

    No full text
The study investigated the efficacy of Cognitive Style on Students’ Achievement in practical Chemistry in Secondary School One research question and two research hypotheses guided the study. The study employed ex-post facto research design. The sample comprised 431 SS II Chemistry students, from three co-educational secondary schools in Enugu State. Data was collected using Chemistry Achievement Test (CAT) which was validated by three research experts, two from department of science education and one from department of Measurement Evaluation from ESUT. Reliability index of 0.81 was derived using Kuder Richardson formula 20 KR-20. Also, Group Embedded Figure Test (GEFT) which is not subjected to validation because the instrument has been investigated by different settings. The research questions were answered using mean and standard deviation while the null hypotheses were tested at 5% level of significance, using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA). The findings of the study showed that Students’ cognitive styles significantly influence on their achievement in practical chemistry. Also, there were no significant interaction effects of cognitive styles on students’ achievement in practical chemistry. Based on the findings, the study recommended among others that teachers should identify strong cognitive styles in their classes and utilize relevant approaches to accommodate individual cognitive styles preference

    No full text
This study was designed to determine the effects of Ideal Model (IM) problem solving strategy on senior secondary school students’ achievement in word problem solving in Enugu state. Two research questions and three null hypotheses were formulated to guide the investigation. A non-equivalent control group type of quasi-experimental design was used.  A sample of 477 SSII students drawn from four public secondary schools in Enugu and Nsukka education zones formed the subject for the study.  Two intact classes were randomly assigned to Ideal group and Control group in each of the schools. Problem solving achievement test (PSAT) was developed, validated and used by the researcher in the study. A trial test was carried out in a neighbouring zone to ascertain the reliability of the instruments. Kuder-Richardson 21 (K-R21) was used to establish the reliability of PSAT and the reliability coefficient was 0.86. The data generated from the study were analyzed using the mean, standard deviation and Analysis of Covariance (ANCOVA). The result of the study showed that the students taught word problems with Ideal Model achieved better than those taught with expository approach. School location has no effect on achievement of students in word problems when IM was used as instructional strategy. Based on the findings, the researcher recommended among other things that Mathematics teachers should be encouraged to always vary their approaches for effective teaching and learning proces
