The globalization movement, which presentsenormous prospects for the majority ofdeveloping nations to achieve quickereconomic growth through trade andinvestment, has greatly expanded theimportance of foreign direct investments(FDI) over the past few decades. FDI helpsforeign investors make better use of theirresources and assets, and it also helps hostnations gain access to superior technologyand join global production and commercenetworks. This paper examines the dynamicand interrelationship among FDI, tradeopenness and economic growth in Nigeria.Annual time series for Nigeria from 1980 to2020 was analyzed using the dynamicClassical Multiple Linear Regression Model, also a pre-estimation test of unit root was firstconducted using two approaches. The resultshows that a 1% increase in FDI would havethe reverse effect on economic growth, reducing it by 19% annually, with all otherparameters being constant. It demonstratesunfavorable trends for foreign directinvestment and trade openness, demonstrating a weak correlation betweenthese variables and the Nigerian economicgrowth index. Another component of themodel that has dynamic long-term impacts oneconomic growth is the historical growthtrajectory. The results imply that the mostrecent adjustments to Nigeria\u27s economicindicators have an effect on the present set ofeconomic growth. In order to encourageexports and FDI inflow and to create abusiness environment that will supportNigeria\u27s output growth dynamics, the essaysuggests expanding trade liberalization. Inorder to allow indigenous enterprises to fullyengage in the global economy, it was also suggested that Nigeria\u27s government developpolicies to broaden the scope of foreign trade
