This study investigated creative pedagogical technique for senior secondary school student academic retention and success in Mathematics in the post Covid-19 pandemic world in Enugu State. The study used a quasi-experimental research design with non-equivalent controls, pre-tests, and post-tests. . The population of 34 312 (SS2) students used in the research. Using a simple random sampling approach, 395 students (230 males& 165 females) for the study. A geometry achievement exam and a geometry retention test were the study\u27s testing methods. The data were evaluated with standard deviation and mean usage in order to respond to the study\u27s queries and assess the hypotheses. When teaching mathematics, especially geometry, utilizing computer-assisted education, there is a considerable difference in both the students\u27 achievement and their capacity to retain information. The researchers recommended that math instructors employ the CAI method, which was found to be more effective and gender-neutral, among other things, when instructing students in arithmetic in school

    No full text
To meet the demands of the United Nations sustainable development objective on education, online learning has gained more attention during the past 10 years. Without the teacher being physically there, various theoretical ideas have been conveyed to students from various parts of the world. Through the use of animated experimental protocols and simulated experiments, remote laboratories, a sort of online learning platform, enable the execution of pricey laboratory practical at little or no cost. In the post-COVID-19 age, this article examines the role of remote laboratories as a useful tool for achieving the sustainable development goal of scientific education. According to reports, online learning has been well received and adapted to, as well as utilized in a variety of industries and organizations. According to reports, virtual laboratories have increased teachers\u27 and students\u27 access to pricey lab equipment, helping to achieve the sustainable development goal. Despite the crucial role that virtual laboratories play in the teaching of practical courses, there has been little to no advancement in the field, particularly in Nigerian science education

As per available statistics, one percent of the total poor people globally live in Kaduna state. This is a very worrying statistics, and thus need serious and urgent attention. To solve this problem, this study examined entrepreneurial orientation, measured by innovativeness, risk taking and proactiveness in relation to poverty. The role entrepreneurial orientation play in reducing poverty is extremely scarce in the literature, therefore, giving rise to this study to be carried out. To this effect, three hypotheses were formulated and tested for in the study. Copies of the questionnaire were distributed using purposive sampling. A total of 408 copies of the questionnaire distributed were used fo

The objectives were to: examine the effect of relationship conflict on service delivery; and effect of Task conflict on Productivity; on customer satisfaction of First Bank of Nigeria Plc, Port Harcourt.  The population of the study was five hundred, and eighty-three-seven (583).  A sample size of two hundred and thirty-seven (237) was drawn from the population using Taro Yamane (1968) formula.  The data generated was analyzed using the simple percentages. The hypotheses were tested using the sample proportion test (Z test). It was found out that there was a significant effect of relationship conflict on service delivery of First Bank of Nigeria Plc, Port Harcourt (Z = 4.59); also, there was significant effect of task conflict on Productivity of First Bank of Nigeria Plc, Port Harcourt (Z = 5.13).  Conclusively, it revealed that disagreements and incompatibilities among group members about personal issues that are not task related between members of an organization occurs because of differences in their goal and values.  The study recommends among others that managers should develop diverse but appropriate strategies to resolve and manage conflicts as they arise before escalating to unmanageable leve

This paper examined the challenges in courseware materials preparation for open and distance education. The paper was anchored on the instructional system design as represented in the ADDIE model, the various phases of the ADDIE - (analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation). Some of the challenges identified are: self-concept of the teacher, experience, readiness, orientation, motivation and network related issues. It was recommended that series of workshops and orientation classes be organized for the teacher involved in the preparation of courseware materials, the teachers should be adequately motivated to enhance quality production. It was also recommended that courseware material designer should rekindle efforts in the application of modern technology in the preparation of courseware materials that will stand the taste of time

This study examined the extent to which innovative pedagogical approaches are required in Nigerian vocational education. The study employed descriptive survey research design for the study. Three research questions guided the study and three null hypotheses were tested. Population of the study was 300 vocational educators in the tertiary institutions across the six geo-political zones in Nigeria that offer vocational education. Questionnaire was used as the instrument to guide the conduct of the study. The mean and standard deviation were used to answer the research questions and determine respondents\u27 ratings homogeneity. In contrast, the t-test was used to test the null hypotheses at a significance level of .05. The study revealed that innovative pedagogical approaches such as collaborative learning, flipped classroom and Google classroom are very much required in vocational education in Nigerian tertiary institutions. Gender and institution type did not significantly differ in the respondents\u27 mean ratings. The study concluded that innovative pedagogical approaches are very much required for vocational education instructional delivery to prepare students for the difficulties of the twenty-first century. Therefore, the study recommends that to provide students with the skills needed in the current vocational education environment, lecturers at tertiary institutions should adopt innovative pedagogical approaches to instruction delivery, and institutions should closely oversee and guarantee complete adherence to the application of innovative pedagogical approache

This paper investigated the perceived students’ needs and adjustments as it affects online learning in the post Covid-19 pandemic in public universities in Anambra State. Three research questions were raised while three hypotheses were formulated and tested.  Descriptive survey research design was employed. The population of the study comprised 10,857 final year students which was made up of 5,019 males and 5,838 females. The sample size comprised 869 final year students from the selected public universities. Structured questionnaire was the instrument used for the data collection. The instrument was validated by two experts, one in measurement and evaluation and the other in Computer Science. The reliability of questionnaire was established using Cronbach Alpha statistic with internal consistency index of 0.82. The collected data were analyzed using mean and standard deviation for the research questions while t test of independence was used in testing the hypotheses at 0.05 level of significance. The study revealed that majority of the students have adjusted with online learning with a high level of readiness. Furthermore, the findings revealed that students indicated high level of ICT skills and competencies needed for online learning. The study revealed that fear of high cost of data, poor internet services, erratic power supply, inaccessibility to online library resources and limited access to computer were the major perceived challenges to effective online learning. Based on this findings, it was recommended that  Nigerian  universities  must  as  a  matter  of  necessity,  improvise  means  through which knowledge delivery and general learning activities can be achieved seamlessly and at the lowest cost to the students even while they are at hom

The study established, how PLS affects students\u27 learning Computer Studies success and Computer Literacy level. The study looked at whether student computer literacy could predict how well they would do in computer studies. With a population of 4832 SS II pupils, with 236 SS II students making up the sample.this study\u27s design was a quasi-experimental one. Because the Department of Mathematics and Computer Education, ESUT specialists had verified the Student Computer Literacy Scale (SCLS) and Computer Studies Achievement Test (CAT), they were used to gather data. In a trial run, 45 students from Army Day Secondary School in Gariki received each instrument. The institution was chosen since it was beyond the focus of the investigation. Cronbach Alpha and Kuder-Richardson (KR-20) coefficients, which were used to analyze the data, produced coefficients of 0.79 and 0.86, respectively. These findings demonstrated the instruments\u27 dependability. For research topics and testing hypotheses, data was examined using mean and standard deviation, Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient, and multiple regression. According to the study, students\u27 computer literacy was a significant predictor of their ability in computer studies, and programmed learning strategies improved both the students\u27 performance and their computer literacy. As a result, the study advised that the Federal/State Ministries of Education create computer science curricula that include programmed learning methodologies and must create measures to ensure that students taking computer science are computer literat
