    Rancang Bangun Oven Pengasapan Ikan Asap Menggunakan Metode Rotary

    Smoked fish has a high economic potential to be used as a business or to cook household food, so it is appropriate if this opportunity is developed by the community. One of the areas producing smoked fish is Kampar Regency. Based on the results of a survey conducted in the area of ​​the Koto Village Mosque (Kampung Patin) Kampar Regency, it was still found that the processing process carried out by the local community still uses traditional equipment, such as using rambutan wood as fuel and a fire stove placed outside the house during the smoking process, so that the temperature of the furnace combustion cannot be controlled properly and the quality of the resulting product is not good for large-scale production, because smoke and ash often stick to the fish meat, and the fish is not evenly cooked. One way that can be done to facilitate the process of making smoked fish is to create a smoking room that can inhibit heat energy by using a rotating system that can rotate. Small holes are also made in the iron pipe in the smoking room as a flow of smoke which aims to make the fish evenly cooked. The smoking process in the oven uses a rotating system or the fish will be rotated in the oven. This study was conducted in order to produce average smoking and this study includes the quality of appearance, odor quality, taste quality, texture quality, mushroom quality, and mucus. The smoking was carried out for 2 hours, 3 hours and 4 hours. The smoking oven was designed to have a smoke chamber capacity of 6 kg with a division of 1 kg / rack. The main part of the smoking oven machine is divided into two main parts including the smoke chamber and the combustion chamber. The smoke chamber has dimensions of 75 cm long, 50 cm wide and 120 cm high while the combustion chamber has dimensions of 100 cm long, 80 cm wide and 50 cm high. The best fish smoking results were obtained at a smoking time of 3 hours with an average fish shrinkage of 42.12%. This can be seen from the level of color and weight shrinkage

    One of the main factors ensuring the safety of motor vehicle riders is their braking system. This system plays a crucial role in slowing down or stopping the vehicle. The efficiency of braking in disc brake systems is influenced by various aspects, one of which is the level of wear on the brake pads. When brake pads wear out, their thickness decreases, which can affect braking performance. The thinner the brake pads, the longer the stopping time required, which can increase the risk of accidents. This study aims to educate motorcycle users, as many still use brake pads even when their thickness has reached the minimum limit of 2-3 mm. The methodology used in this research is a stationary test that varies the thickness of worn brake pads, specifically at 2 mm, 4 mm, and 6 mm conditions. Subsequently, the three brake pads were tested at safe speed limits, ranging from 20, 40, to 60 km/h, with normal braking loads of 4 kg, 5 kg, and 6 kg. The conclusion indicates that the effective stopping time for motorcycle brake pads should be between 1.07 and 1.13 seconds, showing that braking performance is still adequate at a brake pad thickness of 2-3 mm to prevent the risk of accidents

    Small-scale broiler farming in Indonesia often suffers losses due to high production costs. In addition to rising feed prices, these losses are frequently caused by chickens that are ready for harvest being unsold in the market due to a decline in purchasing power. One solution that farmers can implement is to slaughter the chickens at the appropriate harvest time and store the carcasses in cooling rooms to sell them when market prices increase. This study aims to design and specify cooling storage equipment to store broiler carcasses using a combination of commercial and solar energy sources. The research begins by determining the cooling load of the system, specifying refrigeration components, evaluating solar energy potential at the location, and designing the required electrical system. Solar energy potential was calculated based on meteorological data obtained from an online database and processed using the PvSyst 7.2 application. Based on the analysis, the cooling storage requires 4.69 kW of power to reach optimal temperature within 6 hours, with a COPR value of 2.2. Meanwhile, the solar energy potential at the installation site is 4.44 kWh/m²/day, enabling the solar power system (PLTS) to generate an estimated annual energy output of 1802 kWh with a Performance Ratio (PR) of 65.07% and a Solar Fraction (SF) of 91.85%

    One effort for saving the energy in the production process is the reuse wasted energy from these productions. This study aimed (1) to determine the effectiveness of the addition of the condensate steam collector tank collection tank on the return pipe line of the boiler on the saving capacity of the Cochran boiler, which was determined based on the boiler efficiency, the fuel consumption, and the amount of water impurity (TDS);(2). to determine the balance between the mass system and the energy boiler system as one of the effectiveness evaluation system of the additionall condensate collector tank. This research was conducted at PT. Eastern Pearl Foulr Mills, Makassar – more specifically at the boiler section and power station. The method used was that the data were collected and processed before and after the condensate collector tank was installed. Thus, it was expected that the difference showing the effect of the additional tank on the energy saving of boiler system. Besides, the research would also determine the conditions of each line point of the working fluid path; next, the efficiency of the boiler, the consumption of the fuel and the amount of the water impurity in the fluid working path would be determined; finally, the mass and the energy balance of the existing system would be determined. The research result revealed that efficiency before the installation was 52.72 % in average, and after the installation was 64.55 % in average. Before the installation of the condensate collector tank, the average fuel consumption was 94.39 kg/hour, while after the installation the average fuel consumption was 75.45 kg/hour. The reason was that the water used tended to be cleaner as seen in the lower TDS than before the installation. Then, the fuel energy of 849. 45 kW was able to produce useful steam energy of 556. 94 kW

    Road infrastructure has a function as one of the supporters of the development of an area. The Road infrastructure still used today is a flexible pavement composed of a mixture of asphalt and aggregate, which is heated and then compacted. Asphalt serves as a binder in the flexible pavement to maintain density and resist the weathering of aggregates caused by weather. It is an innovative additive used in concrete waste to replace rough aggregates. Adding LGA B50/30 in a base mixture is expected to be an alternative to improving the quality of the base mix and supporting the government in the use of domestic products. The study aims to determine how marshall is characterized if concrete waste is used in the AC-BC Ashburton mix as a substitute for rough aggregates and whether it meets the requirements of the Binna Marga Specification. The study was conducted experimentally with marshal characteristic parameters density, VIM (Void In Mix), VMA (Void In Mineral Aggregate), VFA (Void Filled with Asphalt), stability, and Marshall Quotient. (MQ). The Optimum Asphalt Rate used is 6.5%. The result is the density decreases with the addition of concrete waste levels, with the highest value at the 30% concrete waste level of 2,408 gr/cc. The increase in the VIM value with the addition of the concrete residue level has a higher value at a rate of 70% or 4.66%. The highest MQ is at a 50% concrete waste rate of 334.04 kg/mm. The study results show that waste concrete innovation materials can be used in Asbuton AC-BC mixtures with levels not exceeding 60%. Based on this research, concrete waste can be an alternative to natural aggregate substitutes

    Pengaruh Variasi Suhu Tempering Terhadap Hasil Pengelasan Elektroda SMAW E6013 Pada Baja SS400

    E6013 merupakan elektroda pengelasan Shield Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) yang sering digunakan dalam industri konstruksi bangunan maupun galangan kapal. Selain harganya yang murah, elektroda ini juga dapat digunakan pada segala macam posisi pengelasan serta dapat digunakan pada mesin Las AC / DC. SS400 merupakan jenis baja karbon rendah yang paling banyak digunakan dalam pembuatan konstruksi bangunan maupun kapal. Baja SS400 dituntut memiliki sifat mekanik logam yang mampu menahan tegangan pada konstruksi bangunan maupun kapal, sehingga diperlukan proses tempering pada material pengelasan untuk menghilangkan tegangan sisa dan meningkatkan keuletan material. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh variasi suhu tempering terhadap pengelasan baja SS400. Posisi pengelasan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah 1G dengan kampuh single V-Groove. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah experimen. Spesimen dibagi menjadi dua kelompok yaitu kelompok kontrol dan kelompok experimen. Kelompok kontrol berisi spesimen hasil pengelasan yang tidak diberikan perlakuan tempering. Kelompok experimen berisi spesimen hasil pengelasan yang diberikan variasi suhu tempering. Hasil pengujian tarik material menunjukan peningkatan tertinggi akibat pengaruh suhu tempering sebesar 541,195 MPa pada suhu 200°C. Penurunan tertinggi kekerasan material pada suhu 350°C sebesar 165,69 HV. Tumbuhnya butiran ferrit pada struktur mikro material juga mengindikasikan semakin uletnya material hasil pengelasan setelah dilakukan proses tempering. Hasil penelitian ini dapat digunakan sebagai alternatif cara untuk meningkatkan keuletan material hasil pengelasan khususnya pada baja SS400

    Pendampingan Pembuatan Pupuk Kompos dalam Menunjang Pertumbuhan Tanaman Obat Keluarga (TOGa)

    Tanaman Obat Keluarga (TOGa) memberikan kontribusi terhadap pendapat tambahan. Kontribusi pendapat yang diterima berasal dari hasil panen. Bila dibiarkan saja tanpa pemberian pupuk bisa berdampak pada lamanya waktu panen. Penambahan pupuk kompos dapat berkontribusi terhadap percepatan pertumbuhan TOGa. Penggunaan pupuk kompos dapat mengurangi keberadaan sampah organik di lingkungan sekitar. Berdasarkan permasalahan yang terjadi, maka dilakukan pendampingan pembuatan pupuk kompos. Tahapan pengabdian dilakukan melalui persiapan, pelaksanaan dan evaluasi. Dampak dari kegiatan pengabdian menjadikan terjadi peningkatan tingkat peserta pengabdian terhadap pembuatan pupuk kompos. Hasil pengujian statistik menggunakan korelasi dan regresi diketahui bahwa nilai r = 0,949 dan Fsignifikasi < 0,05. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa variabel lama waktu pengabdian dan tingkat pengetahuan memiliki hubungan positif serta hubungan sebab akibat. tambahan

    Video profil merupakan video pendek guna memperkenalkan individu, perusahaan, atau organisasi kepada masyarakat. Video profil berisi informasi tentang keberadaan suatu objek seperti produk, layanan, atau daerah yang memiliki keunikan tersendiri dengan tujuan meningkatkan kesadaran dan kepercayaan masyarakat melalui gambaran jelas terhadap subjek yang dipresentasikan. Video profil dapat dipublikasikan di berbagai media, seperti situs web, media sosial, presentasi bisnis, sebagai bagian dari kampanye pemasaran. Sehubungan dengan hal tersebut, tim Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PkM) dari Jurusan Bahasa Inggris melakukan kegiatan PkM berupa pembuatan video profil/promosi disalah satu kampung tematik Kota Padang, yaitu Kampung Manggis yang berada di kelurahan Limau Manis Kecamatan Pauh. Sebagai daerah potensial di Kota Padang, daerah ini adalah daerah sentral buah manggis dimana 80% produksi manggis di kota Padang berasal dari wilayah tersebut. Kampung Manggis merupakan penghasil manggis nomor 2 di Sumatera Barat yang menghasilkan buah manggis berkualitas untuk pangsa dalam dan luar negeri. Sebagai daerah yang juga berpotensi menjadi salah satu daerah agrowisata Kota Padang, kegiatan untuk membuat daerah ini lebih dikenal dimasyarakat tentu diperlukan. Pembuatan video promosi kampung manggis sebagai kegiatan PkM bertujuan untuk mempromosikan wilayah ini sebagai daerah agrowisata penghasil manggis terbesar dan terbaik di Kota Padang. Pelaksanaan kegiatan PKM ini terbagi atas tiga tahap yaitu tahap pra-produksi, tahap produksi, dan post-produksi.     Melihat salah satu permasalahan dalam masyarakat khususnya petani jagung dalam hal mengelola pasca panen, aktivitas pasca panen masih menghasilkan nilai kehilangan yang cukup tinggi dikarenakan penanganan yang kurang baik. Teknologi merupakan salah satu faktor penting keberhasilan petani jagung. Pada umumnya pemipil dan penggiling jagung diproses dengan mesin terpisah, yang menyebabkan biaya produksi semakin meningkat dan memakan waktu yang lama. Maka solusinya adalah memadukan dua alat tersebut dalam satu kerangka utama sebagai inovasi mesin produksi pakan ternak dengan hasil mutu produk yang lebih baik dan meningkatkan daya jual hasil pasca panen petani jagung. Berdasarkan rancangan dan perhitungan komponen maka diperoleh spesifik mesin pemipil dan penggiling jagung sebagai berikut: kapasitas perencanaan 81 kg/ jam, menggunakan motor penggerak 1.5 HP 2800 rpm, dengan menggunakan 2 pulley yaitu 3 inch dan 8 inch, menggunakan jenis sabuk-V tipe A-51 inch, serta dengan efisiensi mesin 68

    Peningkatan Workability Pasta Beton Modifikasi Dengan Pemanfaatan Abu Sekam Padi Menggunakan Superplasticizer

    Infrastructure development in Indonesia is the main focus of the government, especially in the construction sector with toll road projects, airports, high-speed rail lines, and smart cities in the new capital city. Concrete is becoming the main material in infrastructure because of its high compressive strength and relatively low cost. Aggregates, especially natural and artificial, play a key role in concrete structures. The growth in demand for natural aggregates has an impact on environmental damage due to mining. Innovations using Rice Husk Ash instead of natural aggregates emerged as an environmentally friendly solution. However, it is necessary to optimize the mix design and handle workability reduction with superplasticizers. The percentage of superplasticizers used is 0%, 0.52%, 0.54%, 0.56%, 0.58% of the total use of cement. In concrete workability tests, such as Flowability, Passingability, and Viscosity, it was found that a 0.54% SCCRHA mixture showed optimal performance. The Flowability test showed a Slump Flow runoff value of 77.5 cm (SF3 category), while the J-Ring test showed a runoff of 75 cm with 2.5 cm blocking (No Blocking). The Viscositytest showed T-500 and V-Funnel times of 1.8 seconds and 2.18 seconds, respectively, with VF1 and VS1 (good filling) classifications. The results showed that this mixture achieved the most effective design with a compressive strength of 25.17 MPa, showing an increase of 13% compared to the plan mixtur
