Determinan Fraudulent Financial Statement: Peran Komite Audit Sebagai Pemoderasi
The phenomenon of Fraudulent Financial Statement contributes the largest average loss in the world compared to other types of fraud and the involvement of property and real estate sector companies in Fraudulent Financial Statement scandal prompts researchers to investigate further regarding this phenomenon. With regard to the impact of the fraud pentagon on fraudulent financial statements, this study attempts to provide empirical proof of moderating role of audit committee in Property and Real Estate companies for the period 2020-2022 with an observed sample size of 54 companies. Purposive sampling was the sample technique chosen for the present inquiry. IBM SPSS Statistics 26 used to scrutinize the gathered data by means of moderated regression analysis technique. It was discovered that Fraudulent Financial Statements have proved to be significantly impacted by Financial Stability and Total Accruals. Meanwhile, moderating effect provided results that from the abundance of five Pentagon Fraud indicators, only Financial Stability can be significantly moderated by the audit committee
Application of the Principle of Transparency in the Law Enforcement Process (Analysis of the Vina Cirebon Case)
In 2016, the murder cases of Vina and Eky in Cirebon occurred, where both were victims of murder and abuse by a group of motorcycle gangs. The case revealed that 11 people were named as suspects, with eight of them receiving prison sentences. However, three other suspects are still on the wanted list. The public questioned the credibility of the police in handling this case. Transparency in law enforcement in Indonesia is essential, which means publicly accessible information about the processes and outcomes of government administration. This transparency also includes criminal investigations by the police who must issue an online notice of progress of investigation (SP2HP). However, there are eight types of information that are exempt from being confidential, including the identity of victims and witnesses. In the handling of Vina's case, the victim's family felt that they did not receive adequate transparency, as it was difficult to obtain information on the progress of the case and access to evidence such as Vina's cell phone. After eight years, the public demanded the arrest of DPOs, but the police announced that only one suspect was at large, leading to doubts and speculation in the community. In conclusion, applying the principle of transparency in law enforcement is crucial to achieving substantive justice. In Vina's case, the lack of transparency made the public doubt the credibility of law enforcement and complicated the resolution of the case. Law enforcers must adhere to established moral values and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to maintain institutional integrity and provide the information needed by the victim's family in accordance with their rights under the law. Keywords: Principles of Openness/Transparency, Law, Crim
Mathematical Connections of Students Viewed from Adversity Quotient in Problem-Based Learning Using Math City Map
The connection between mathematics and adversity quotient (AQ) has an important role in a person's ability to make decisions to solve problems in life. One of the efforts to improve it is through the application of technology in learning. The Math-City Map (MCM)-assisted Problem-based learning (PBL) model is one of the learnings that utilizes technology combining the PBL model and MCM-assisted learning. This study aims to (1) the quality of learning with a problem-based learning model using a math city map on mathematical connection ability (KKM, (2) test the effect of AQ on students' mathematical connection ability in MCM-assisted PBL learning. This research is a mixed method research with an explanatory sequential design with a quantitative portion greater than qualitative. The population of this study was grade VII students of SMPN 2 Ambarawa. Qualitative data was taken based on students' AQ, namely the climber, camper, and quitter categories. Quantitative data analysis techniques with parametric statistics such as mean tests, classical due diligence, and regression tests. Qualitative data analysis techniques use data reduction, presentation, and conclusions. The results showed that (1) MCM-assisted PBL learning was effective in improving students' mathematical connections (2) there was an influence of AQ on students' mathematical connection abilities in MCM-assisted PBL learnin
In vivo study: black cumin extract (Nigella sativa) on antral follicle diameter and granulosa cell layer thickness as an effort to prevent infertility
Background: Infertility is a health problem that affects approximately 10-15% of couples trying to achieve pregnancy worldwide. Various studies have shown that Nigella sativa (N. Sativa) has many health benefits, including reproductive health. However, studies examining the effectiveness of N. Sativa in preventing folliculogenesis disorders have never been reported.Purpose: This study aims to determine the benefits of administering N. Sativa in preventing folliculogenesis disorders as measured by the diameter of the antral follicles and the thickness of the granulosa cell layer. Methods: This research design uses an experiment with a randomized posttest-only controlled group design approach. There were 27 experimental animals (mice) divided into three groups, namely the negative control group (9 animals) and the positive control group (9 animals), as well as the treatment group (9 animals). The positive control group was exposed to two cigarettes of cigarette smoke per day. The treatment group was exposed to cigarette smoke and N. Sativa 300 mg/KgBW/day for 28 days. After that, the mice were sacrificed to take their ovaries. Then, the ovarian organ samples were stained with Hematoxylin-eosin and examined for the diameter of the antral follicles and the thickness of the granulosa cell layer in the antral follicles with photo slides at 400x magnification in 5 fields of view, statistical analysis using the Independent T-test.Results: There were significant differences in antral follicle diameter and granulosa cell thickness in mice exposed to cigarette smoke and N. Sativa. Administration of N. Sativa extract can increase granulosa cell thickness through estrogenic function. Administration of N. Sativa extract showed estrogenic activity by increasing serum estradiol levels. N. Sativa heterotrophic activity cannot be separated from the flavonoid and phenolic compounds contained in N. Sativa, which have been proven to have high estrogenic activity. Conclusion: N. Sativa extract is efficacious in improving the diameter of antral follicles and the thickness of granulosa cells caused by exposure to cigarettes
Rupture of the internal jugular vein and tension pneumothorax in a penetrating neck-lung injury due to iron splinters: a case report
Background: Penetrating neck injuries are relatively rare but pose significant challenges due to the concentration of vital structures in this area. This case report presents a unique in-stance of a 20-year-old male with a penetrating neck injury caused by iron splinters, resulting in the rupture of the internal jugular vein and tension pneumothorax.Case Presentation: The patient, a 20-year-old male, presented with restlessness, chest pain, rapid breathing, and a penetrating wound on the left side of the neck. Initial management included needle decompression for tension pneumothorax and radiological assessments to localize the foreign body. C-arm revealed that the foreign body had penetrated the upper left thoracic region and lung parenchyma. The surgical intervention involved repairing the internal jugular vein and performing pulmonary resection to remove the iron splinters. Conclusions: This case highlights the importance of a multidisciplinary approach in managing complex penetrating neck injuries. Advanced imaging techniques and timely surgical interventions are crucial for optimizing patient outcomes. Future research should focus on refining diagnostic protocols and exploring minimally invasive surgical techniques to improve the management of such injuries
