Radioactive Cesivm 137 Contents and Their Reduction under Process of Cooking in Food Products Cultivated in Kawauchi, Fukushima Prefecture

A Study on Agglomerated Areas Using Mobility Data
As we use mobile phones, mobility data is accumulated because of GPS or data transaction. Especially, mobility data by data transaction is huge quantity. Therefore, we can analyze human mobility as detail. However, huge data quantity prevents us from calculating and analyzing some statistics. We have troubles in treating big data by using spread sheet application software. In this research, we suggest that statistical modeling has some solution of its trouble. And the statistical modeling is introduced random effect term in linear regression. We illustrate this model applied for mobility big data and advantage of human mobility analysis
Removal of Heavy Metals inWastewater with Polyglutamic Acid as a Flocculating Agent
The flocculation method with polyglutamic acid was applied in order to remove heavy metals in wastewater. Removal efficiency more than ca. 90% was obtained for metals of chromium, copper, iron and zinc, while that of manganese (Mn) was only ca. 50%. Therefore, in the present study, a combined method of flocculation and coprecipitation with iron hydroxide was attempted to increase the removal efficiency of Mn. An ion exchange method was also applied for a comparison. For the combined method of flocculation and coprecipitation, the removal efficiency of almost 100% was accomplished at the wide pH range from 7 to 12, although that value decreased negligibly at pH 6. On the other hand, for the ion exchange method, the removal efficiency became higher as pH became lower. The maximum value (93%) was obtained at pH 3. The combined method of flocculation and coprecipitation was found to be useful for removing Mn in wastewater
Two-Photon Ionization of Chrysene and Phenanthrene in Cyclodextrin Aqueous Solution
Formations of chrysene (Ch) and phenanthrene (PH) radical cation and hydrated electrons during two-photon ionization (TPI) of Chand PH in the presence of cyclodextrins (CD) were studied by transient absorption measurement using 266-nm laser flash photolysis (LFP) technique. Ionization of Ch occurred within the time interval of the laser flash (5 ns) to give the radical cation, which was confirmed by the observation of hydrated electrons at 720 nm in the presence ofα-, β-and γ-CD in water. The electron was generated by two-photon excitation by means of simultaneous irradiation from a 266-nm laser. The ionization quantum yield (Φion) of Ch obtained by LFP in the presence ofα-, β-and γ-CD(1.0×10-2M)were 36.2±2.2%,1.2±0.7%and 0.8±0.4%, respectively. Additionally, Φion of Ch in the presence of CDs was due to the stabilization energy of solvation. These behaviors suggest that the useful two-photon ionization results from the complexes of Ch and α-, β-and γ-CD, respectively. In the case of changed concentration of CDs (from 1.0×10-2M to 1.0×10-3M), Φion of Ch in the presence ofα-CD was dependent on the fluorescence lifetime (τ).In contrast, Φion of Ch in the presence of β-and γ-CD increased with decreasing β-and γ-CD concentration, and independent on the τ. This result suggested that increase of Φion was due to the stabilization energy of solvation with change of formation of inclusion complexes Chand CDs. In this study, we found that TPI of Ch depended on the properties of the complexes with CDs. Finally, we compared Φion of Ch and PH, which was observed two-photon ionization process of PH in the presence ofα-, β-and γ-CD in water
Reconsideration of a Method of Teaching the Verb BE
In February, 2015, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) of Japan gave some universities a request for improving their educational content. The verb BE is often picked up as inappropriate content taught in university. However, to acquire how to use the verb BE correctly is difficult for Japanese learners of English, so this paper shows some causes which make it difficult for Japanese learners to use the verb BE correctly, and then shows a new method for Japanese learners to acquire the usage of the verb BE
Educational Practice Using ArcGIS
This report introduces two educational practices. One is the class of Computing Exercise Ⅳin Department of Industrial Business and Engineering in Fukui University of Technology, and another is the class of Environment Remote Sensing in Department of Architecture and Civil Engineering. In the former class, GIS (Geographic Information System) and CAD (Computer Aided Design) are mainly studied in order to include the contents which agree with the high school curriculum guidelines "Industry" of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, and two written proposals are made as the applications of GIS and CAD to business fields. ArcGIS as GIS software and AutoCAD as CAD software are used. In the latter class, ArcGIS is used for the image processing and measurement by the satellite remote sensing, and natural disasters (2011 eastern Japan great earthquake, 2004 Fukui heavy rainfall), air pollution, global warming, etc. are studied. The used satellite data are Landsat5, Landsat7, Landsat8, Aster, Alos and MODIS. In both classes, good educational results are obtained
