A Report on the Teaching of English through Asadora (“ Morning Drama” )
Asadora (“morning drama”) is a common name of Renzoku Terebi Shosetsu (“serial TV novel”), which is a Japanese serial TV drama program aired on NHK. Asadoras have been popular among Japanese people, especially the elderly. Hanako to An (“Hanako and Anne”) and Massan are the 90th and the 91st Adasoras, respectively. Both of them have many scenes where the characters speak English. For that reason, I used them as English teaching materials at public lectures open to the local community. This paper reports on the teaching of English through Asadora, including the results of the questionnaire conducted to the participants and the handouts used in the lectures
Downton Abbey-the House and Englishness
Downton Abbey , a British TV drama that is immensely popular at home, has fascinated a large number of viewers worldwide. In this paper, I would like to stress the function of ‘Downton Abbey’as an estate. In a glance, the system that maintained the society within the estate seemed to last forever. However, the arrival of the Edwardian Era, whether to the upper or to the lower class of the house, was unavoidable. The point is whether the estate ‘Downton Abbey’ was able to embrace the new values that dominated the whole society at the early Edwardian Era and whether the house successfully changed itself for the future. Those concerns suggest the fate of English society then was at crisis. In this paper, the function and representation of ‘Downton Abbey’ is mainly focused, with a discussion of ‘Englishness’, which is also an important theme to this paper

Caring for Students Provided by Teachers of Nursing in Clinical Training
看護大学で臨地実習に携わっている教員18人のインタビューから,実習で教員が学生に対しておこなっているケアリングを明らかにした。インタビューの内容は,実習で学生に対してどのようなケアリングをおこなっているかなどで,語りの内容を逐語録とし,質的記述的に分析した。対象者の年齢は,20~30代で,教育歴の平均は3.6±1.8年だった。職位は全員が助教だった。主要な担当科目は,基礎看護学実習,成人看護学実習,老年看護学実習などであり,成人期から老年期にある対象を受け持つ実習の担当者であった。教員がおこなっているケアリングは,【緊張を緩和し,環境を整える】【学習に配慮する】【観察し声をかける】【助言と提案をする】【やれていることと頑張って欲しいことを意識させる】【個を理解し尊重する】【信頼し,待つ】【グループの関係を調整する】【脅威にならない】【自分との付き合い方を学んでもらう】の10のカテゴリーにまとめられた
Fault Tolerant Data Backup System Using Peer-to-Peer Network
In this study, we investigate the backup-system using peer-to-peer network system. In general, as a way to backup the data, we use magnetic tape, hard-disk, flash memory, file server, and online storage, etc. However, these devices have some problems on redundancy, dispersiveness, or security. We propose fault tolerant data backup system with peer-to-peer network. To improve the level of redundancy and dispersiveness, our system employs the number of peer-to-peer network's nodes and redundant encrypting backup data. We attempt to reduce the nodes' load by halving backup data and sending it to separate nodes
