Modul ini dirancang agar sejalan dengan Kurikulum Merdeka dan bertujuan membangun kesadaran siswa terhadap isu lingkungan dan kesetaraan gender melalui karya sastra. Drama Waiting for Godot: Kajian Naskah dan Pementasan
Get PDFStudi ini berfokus pada unsur teks naskah lakon karya Samuel Becket Waiting for Godot dan proses alih wahana dari naskah tersebut ke bentuk pementasan teater Waiting for Godot sutradara Choki Lumban Gaol berdasarkan kajian intrinsik dan alih wahana sebuah naskah drama/lakom. Studi ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis unsur teks dalam naskah drama Samuel Becket Waiting for Godot serta proses transformasi atau alih wahan dari naskah drama. Analisis isi dilakukan dengan menggunakan teknik analisis jalinan atau mengalir. Model analisis jalinan atau mengalir terdiri dari tiga bagian: reduksi data, sajian data, dan penarikan simpulan. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi dan dokumentasi. Kajian intrinsik dan konsep alih wahana, yaitu analisis proses transformasi dari naskah drama ke dalam pertunjukan teater, digunakan untuk menganalisis data yang terkumpul. Hasil penelitan menunjukkan bahwa elemen teks dalam naskah drama dan pementasan teater berubah dan diubah. Selain itu, dalam proses alih wahana, narasi diubah menjadi dialog, bahasa diubah, dan latar tempat dikurangi. GAYA BAHASA DENGAN MATERI PENDIDIKAN DALAM NOVEL PARA PRIYAYI KARYA UMAR KAYAM
Get PDFPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis gaya bahasa yang digunakan Umar Kayam dalam novel Para Priyayi serta mengeksplorasi bagaimana materi pendidikan disampaikan melalui narasi tersebut. Novel ini merepresentasikan peran pendidikan dalam membentuk identitas sosial masyarakat Jawa pada masa kolonial hingga pascakemerdekaan.Dengan menggunakan metode analisis stilistika dan pendekatan deskriptif-kualitatif, penelitian ini mengungkapkan bahwa Umar Kayam secara konsisten memanfaatkan gaya bahasa metafora, simile, personifikasi, dan narasi dialogis untuk memperkuat nilai-nilai pendidikan, seperti pentingnya ketekunan, kesetiaan pada ilmu, dan peran pendidikan sebagai sarana mobilitas sosial. Melalui gaya bahasa yang sederhana tetapi sarat makna, nilai-nilai pendidikan tidak hanya disampaikan secara eksplisit melalui percakapan antartokoh, tetapi juga secara implisit melalui penggambaran latar, konflik sosial, dan perkembangan karakter.Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa gaya bahasa dalam Para Priyayi bukan sekadar ornamen estetik, melainkan menjadi sarana strategis untuk menyampaikan gagasan pendidikan yang kontekstual dengan budaya lokal. Kontribusi penelitian ini terhadap perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan di bidang pendidikan terletak pada pemahaman bahwa karya sastra, khususnya novel realis seperti Para Priyayi, dapat menjadi sumber pendidikan karakter, moral, dan sosial yang efektif bila dipelajari secara sistematis.Selain itu, penelitian ini memperkaya kajian interdisipliner antara sastra dan pendidikan, menawarkan alternatif pendekatan dalam pendidikan berbasis budaya. Dengan mengkaji penggunaan gaya bahasa untuk menyampaikan materi pendidikan, penelitian ini membuka peluang untuk mengembangkan metode pembelajaran yang lebih kreatif dan kontekstual dalam dunia pendidikan Indonesia
Nilai-Nilai Pendidikan Karakter dalam Film Laut Tengah Karya Archie Hekagery
Get PDFPenelitian ini membahas tentang nilai-nilai pendidikan karakter yang dapat ditemukan dalam sebuah film Laut Tengah karya Archie Hekagery dikaitkan dengan alternatif pengembangan bahan ajar melakukan penilaian terhadap karya fiksi. Latar belakang penelitian ini berangkat dari maraknya kemunculan film-film terbaru di televisi, bioskop, dan media lainnya di Indonesia yang dapat diakses secara ilegal oleh berbagai kalangan usia tanpa mempertimbangkan kelayakan nilai-nilai pendidikan karakter yang terkandung di dalamnya. Film Laut Tengah dipilih sebagai objek penelitian untuk mengkaji 2 permasalahan yaitu: (1) nilai-nilai pendidikan karakter yang terkandung dalam film Laut Tengah karya Archie Hekagery, dan (2) pemanfaatannya sebagai alternatif pengembangan bahan ajar dalam melakukan penilaian terhadap karya fiksi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan metode analisis data. Sumber data penelitian adalah data primer dan sekunder yang dikumpulkan melalui teknik studi pustaka, teknik analisis data, dan teknik dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa film Laut Tengah karya Archie Hekagery mengandung berbagai nilai pendidikan karakter , antara lain: religius, jujur, toleransi, disiplin, kerja keras, kreatif, rasa ingin tahu, menghargai prestasi, bersahabat, gemar membaca, peduli sosial, tanggung jawab. Film Laut Tengah karya Archie Hekagery dinilai layak menjadi alternatif pengembangan bahan ajar karena memuat konten positif yang dapat membentuk karakter peserta didik, oleh karena itu disarankan agar sekolah menengah pertama memanfaatkannya sebagai salah satu bahan ajar dalam melakukan penilaian terhadap karya fiksi.Kata Kunci: Nilai; Pendidikan Karakter; Film; Bahan Aja
Pre-Service EFL Teachers’ Anxiety in Teaching English Speaking Skills
Get PDFThis study discusses pre-service EFL teachers’ anxiety in teaching English speaking skills focusing on the strategies to reduce the anxiety and how it affects the quality of teaching. The qualitative case study is conducted in a University in Ciamis involving 23 pre-service EFL teachers. Questionnaires were used to gather the data. The first result reveals that pre-service EFL teachers need to implement some strategies to motivate students and reduce anxiety in teaching English as a foreign language. Meanwhile, the second result shows that pre-service EFL teachers’ were mentally anxious related to all teaching English speaking skills activities, but for most of them, it did not really diminish their confidence while performing in front of class. Promoting learning activities without excessive pressure, emphasizing language importance, evaluating errors, and maintaining ethical conduct can reduce anxiety in teaching English speaking skills as pre-service teachers. For future researchers, the writer suggests they investigate the anxiety of pre-service EFL teachers assisted with psychologists to find a better solution
Learning Daily Colloquial Vocabulary English of a Digital Movie
Get PDFThis research explores the adequacy of utilizing computerized motion pictures to instruct day-to-day colloquial English lexicon to junior high school students. It addresses the constrained lexicon and elocution challenges confronted by Indonesian students learning English. The think about analyzes how computerized motion pictures can improve students' vocabulary acquisition and talking abilities, making the learning handle more locks in and successful compared to conventional strategies. This is a qualitative paradigm with the type of case study involving 20 students and one teacher as research participants. Data collection was gathered from student interviews to assemble information on their learning experiences and challenges. The discoveries recommend that computerized motion pictures, with English subtitles, altogether help in vocabulary learning by providing context and pronunciation cues, subsequently improving comprehension and speaking confidence. In any case, a few downsides include innovation availability issues and potential diversions. The inquiry about underscores the potential of computerized motion pictures as a profitable instrument in dialect instruction, advertising viable experiences for teachers, pointing to coordinated mixed media assets into their educating methodologies to improve language learning results
Using Canva to Improve the Students’ Writing of Greeting Card (A Case Study at One of Senior High School in Tasikmalaya)
Get PDFTeacher and students can utilize technology-based learning media, such as the Canva. The aim of this study was to explore the use of Canva as a digital tool in English language learning. The study was conducted at a senior high school in Tasikmalaya. Qualitative case study was applied as data collection methods were research question observations and interviews. The researcher conducted observation and interviews to five students from class X-9. Semi-structured interview data were collected through one-on-one interviews and audio recordings for further analysis. The findings indicate that Canva has a positive or effective influence to improve students’ mastery of writing skills. Moreover, the findings suggest that students perceive Canva to be a potentially beneficial tool for improving their writing skills, digital literacy, and creativity. However, the results of the study revealed that students’ perceptions about Canva were various. Despite the challenges encountered by students, most of students perceived it as being a potential benefit to improve their writing abilities. The teacher further support the use of Canva for creating student greeting cards, demonstrating its effectiveness in enhancing their design skills and personal expression. In conclusion, the findings suggest Canva is a popular and influential medium for students, giving them a chance to express themselves, enhance their language abilities, and discover new talents. In addition, incorporating structured educational interventions or guided Canva assignments may prove beneficial in supporting students’ language learning journey through Canva. Understanding the influence of cultural and societal factors on students’ Canva preferences can foster cross-cultural communication and enhance their English language development
Pandangan Ulama dan Tenaga Kesehatan di Sumedang Terhadap Kontrasepsi Permanen Tanpa Indikasi Medis
Get PDFThe use of permanent sterilization contraception, such as vasectomy and tubectomy, remains a sensitive issue among Indonesian Muslims, particularly in Sumedang Regency. This study aims to explore the views of Islamic scholars (ulama) and health workers on the practice of permanent sterilization without medical indications. This study used a qualitative case study approach with semi-structured interviews with five informants: two ulama, two health workers, and one community leader who was also a sterilization patient. The results indicate that Islamic scholars reject permanent sterilization without medical reasons because they are considered contrary to the principles of the maqasid sharia, specifically preserving offspring (hifz al-nasl). In contrast, health workers accept the procedure if accompanied by medical indications and the consent of the partner. These differing views reflect differing perspectives on sterilization, family planning, and couple readiness. This study used an educational approach and interdisciplinary dialogue between religious leaders and health workers to bridge the gap. Practical implications: education that combines sharia values with reproductive health information is crucial to help communities make informed, rational contraceptive decisions that align with local spiritual and cultural values
Mapping the Culinary Lexicon: A Semantic Analysis of Dagbani Cook Verbs
Get PDFThis study analyzes the semantic field of culinary expressions in Dagbani, a language within the Mabia group spoken predominantly in Northern Ghana. Using Cruse’s (1990) Lexical Semantics Relation Theory as a theoretical framework, the research focuses specifically on the semantics of cook-related verbs. The study adopts a qualitative research approach by identifying and examining sixteen distinct cooking verbs in Dagbani. The findings reveal that each verb tends to collocate with specific food items, and that the choice of verb is influenced by factors such as the method of preparation, the intensity of heat applied, and the presence or absence of a heat source. This analysis contributes to a deeper understanding of the relationship between language, culture, and culinary practices in Dagbani
Connotative Meanings in “Red (Taylor’s Version)” Album by Taylor Swift
Get PDFConnotative meaning refers to the emotional and associative implications from words literal definition, and song lyrics are often used by the creator as an intermediary to convey the contents of thoughts and feelings with various types of language styles. This study aims to identify types of connotative meanings and to examines how the connotative meanings in the song lyrics contribute to the overall emotional impact or message of the song in Red (Taylor’s Version) album by Taylor Swift. The study applies a qualitative descriptive method. The theoretical foundation is based on Leech’s (1981) theory of semantics, with a focus on identifying and analyzing three types of connotative: positive, negative, and neutral based on Michael Halley’s (1980) theory on connotative functions. The analysis follows several stages: lyrics selection, identification of connotative expression, classification by type, and interpretation within the context of the album’s themes. The analysis findings indicate that the three types of connotative meanings are consistently used throughout the album, while precise number for each connotative category in Red (Taylor’s Version) are not definitively established, the album predominantly features negative emotional tones, consistent with its themes of love and loss. By deeper meaning and clearer translation, this study aims to avoid cultural misunderstanding or miscommunication through figurative language.
