    Stingging nettle leaves are one of the plants that are usually found by the community, but most people do not know the benefits and uses and so gatel leaves are rarely used by people in the Village of Klakah Gubuk and Desa Ngadas. This study aims to determine the bioprospection and abundance of Stingging nettle leaves Laportea decumana), kemaduh (Dendrocnide stimulant (L.f) Chew) and bedor (Girardinia palmata Gaud) by Gubuk Klakah and Ngadas villages. This research was conducted in the Village of Klakah Gubuk and Ngadas Village, Poncokusumo District, Malang Regency in May-July 2020. This research uses descriptive methods which include: literature study, field observations, interviews using questionnaires, data analysis and observation documentation. The respondents taken were 95 respondents taken purposive sampling. The results of this study indicate that the response of the community of Gubuk Klakah village and Ngadas village is high regarding the knowledge of Stingging nettle leaves plants, but the response of the community in the village of Ngadas is high regarding the utilization of the bedor (Girardinia palmata Gaud) for customary needs and natural pesticides.   Keywords: stingging nettle leaves, abundance, Gubuk Klakah Village, Ngadas Village, bioprospection ABSTRAK Daun gatal merupakan tumbuhan yang biasanya dijumpai oleh masyarakat, namun sebagian besar masyarakat tidak mengetahui manfaat dan kegunaannya sehingga daun gatal jarang digunakan oleh masyarakat di Desa Gubuk Klakah dan Desa Ngadas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bioprospeksi dan kelimpahan daun gatal (Laportea decumana), kemaduh (Dendrocnide stimulans (L.f) Chew) dan bedor (Girardinia palmata Gaud) oleh masyarakat desa Gubuk Klakah dan desa Ngadas. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Desa Gubuk Klakah dan Desa Ngadas Kecamatan Poncokusumo Kabupaten Malang pada bulan Mei- Juli 2020. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif yang meliputi: studi pustaka, pengamatan langsung di lapangan, wawancara dengan menggunakan kuesioner, analisis data dan dokumentasi pengamatan. Responden yang diambil adalah 95 responden yang diambil dengan teknik purposive sampling. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa respon masyarakat desa Gubuk Klakah dan desa Ngadas tinggi mengenai pengetahuan deskripsi tumbuhan daun gatal, namun respon masyarakat di desa Ngadas tinggi mengenai pemanfaatan tentang tumbuhan bedor (Girardinia palmata Gaud) untuk keperluan adat dan pestisida alami.  Kata kunci: daun gatal, kelimpahan, Desa Gubuk Klakah, Desa Ngadas, bioprospeks

    Pengaruh Ekstrak Daun Kopi Robusta (Coffea canephora Pierre ex A. Froehner) terhadap Kualitas Spermatozoa Mencit (Mus musculus L.) Yang Terpapar Asap Rokok.

    This study aims to determine the effect of given robusta coffee (Coffea canephora Pierre ex A. Froehner) leaf extract on the spermatozoa quality of mice (Mus musculus L.) exposed to cigarette smoke. The experiment was using a completely randomized design (CRD) with five treatments and each consisted of six mice as replications. Each treatment was K- (without exposure to cigarette smoke), K+ (exposure to cigarette smoke + 0.5% Na-CMC), P1 (exposure to cigarette smoke + Robusta coffee leaf extract at a dose of 60 mg/kgbw), P2 (exposure to cigarette smoke + Robusta coffee leaf extract at a dose of 120 mg/kgbw) and P3 (exposure to cigarette smoke + Robusta coffee leaf extract at a dose of 180 mg/kgbw). On the 36th day, mice were taken down by anesthesia and followed by surgery to collect spermatozoa. The parameters for this observation were the concentration, motility, viability, morphology, and integrity of the spermatozoa membrane. The data obtained were analyzed statistically with One Way Anova and further tested with DMRT. The results showed that the treatment of robusta coffee leaf exstract in mice exposed to cigarette smoke had a significant effect (P<0,05) on the quality of spermatozoa.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh ekstrak daun kopi robusta (Coffea canephora Pierre ex A. Froehner) terhadap kualitas spermatozoa mencit (Mus musculus L.) yang terpapar asap rokok. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan lima perlakuan dan terdiri atas enam ekor mencit sebagai ulangan. Masing-masing perlakuannya adalah K- (tanpa paparan asap rokok), K+ (paparan asap rokok + Na-CMC 0,5%), P1 (paparan asap rokok + ekstrak daun kopi robusta dosis 60 mg/kgbb), P2 (paparan asap rokok + ekstrak daun kopi robusta dosis 120 mg/kgbb) dan P3 (paparan asap rokok + ekstrak daun kopi robusta dosis 180 mg/kgbb). Pada hari ke-36, mencit dikorbankan dengan cara dibius kemudian dilakukan pembedahan untuk pengkoleksian spermatozoa. Parameter yang diamati yaitu konsentrasi, motilitas, viabilitas, morfologi, serta integritas membran spermatozoa. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis secara statistik dengan One Way Anova dan diuji lanjut dengan DMRT. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan ekstrak daun kopi robusta pada mencit yang terpapar asap rokok berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05) terhadap kualitas spermatozoa

    Pengaruh Kualitas Air Kolam Terpal terhadap Pertumbuhan Ikan Lele Dumbo (Clarias gariepinus): Influence of Water Quality in the Tarpaulin Pool to the Dumbo Catfish (Clarias gariepinus) Growth

    ABSTRACT Water quality is what describes the suitability or suitability of water for certain uses. Dumbo catfish (Clarias gariepinus) is one type of fish that has been widely cultivated in Indonesia. The catfish habitat is very flexible, can be cultivated with high stocking densities, very rapid growth, and can live in environments with low oxygen levels, because it has an additional respiratory organ, namely the arborescent organ. This study aims is to compare the length and weight of Dumbo catfish in relation to water quality parameters in pools that made from container of tarpaulin with different densities. The method used in this research is the survey method by collecting primary data on tarpaulin pond water quality and catfish growth measurements, with densely spreading 500 and one thousand per pond of maintenance. The results of the study obtained the range of parameters of tarpaulin pond water quality parameters meeting the optimum standard for the growth of African catfish (C. gariepinus) which is still in accordance with the quality standards according to PP No. 02 of 2011 class III for freshwater fish farmers. The growth of catfish in ponds with 1000 head spreads faster with the average fish length increase of 15.71 cm weighing 14.85 g, compared with a 500-tailed pond with an average length of 15.61 cm and a weight of 14.83 g.  Keywords: Quality, Growth, Catfish dumbo ABSTRAK Kualitas air adalah apa yang menggambarkan kesesuaian atau kecocokan air untuk penggunaan tertentu. Lele dumbo (Clarias gariepinus) merupakan salah satu jenis ikan yang sudah banyak dibudidayakan di Indonesia. Habitatnya ikan lele sangat fleksibel, dapat dibudidayakan dengan padat penebaran tinggi, pertumbuhannya sangat pesat, dan bisa hidup dilingkungan dengan kadar oksigen rendah, karena mempunyai organ pernapasan tambahan yaitu arborescent organ. Penelitian ini bertujuan untukmembandingkan pertambahan panjang dan bobot ikan lele dumbo kaitannya dengan parameter kualitas air pada kolam wadah terpal dengan kepadatan yang berbeda.Metode yang digunakan penelitian adalah metode survei dengan pengumpulan data primer kualitas air kolam terpal dan pengukuran pertumbuhan ikan lele, dengan padat penebaran lima ratus dan seribu ekor per kolam pemeliharaan. Hasil penelitian mendapatkan nilai kisaran parameter kualitas air kolam terpal memenuhi standar optimum bagi pertumbuhan ikan lele Dumbo yang masih sesuai dengan standar baku mutu menurut PP No. 02 Tahun 2011 kelas III untuk pembudidaya ikan air tawar. Pertumbuhan ikan lele pada kolam dengan tebaran 1000 ekor lebih cepat dengan hasil rerata pertambahan panjang ikan sebesar 15,71 cm dengan bobot 14,85 g, dibandingkan dengan kolam tebaran 500 ekor dengan rerata pertambahan panjang 15,61 cm dan bobot 14,83 g.     Mistletoe tea (Scurrula. atropurpurea (Bl.) Dans) and Mistletoe Mango (Dendrophthoe pentandra) are parasitic plants that live on tea and mango plants, very potential as medicines, containing several secondary metabolite compounds such as flavonoids (quercetin). Flavonoids can act as natural antioxidants that can protect the kidneys from free radicals. Damage to kidney function can indicate from creatinine, BUN, urea, and renal histopathology. The.purpose.of.this study was.to determine toxicity of. a combination of. Mistletoe tea. extract and mango mistletoe (EMBTBM) to damage kidney function in female Wistar rats for 28 days, using the true experimental design method. Data on creatinine, bun, urea, and renal histopathology data were analyzed using the ANOVA. test. The number of test animals is 20 female white rats divided into four groups; each group there are five rats. Group.1 a control, then groups  3, and 4. as. treatment. Based on the results of the study showed that statistically significant. between. all groups. was p> 0.05. Therefore,.EMBTBM given to female.rats for.28 days at a dose.of 250 mg/KgBB, 500.mg/KgBB, and.1000 mg/KgBB reduces levels of creatinine, bun, urea and renal cell necrosis, in this case, the administration of EMBTBM tends to be safe and does not cause rise toxic properties in damage to kidney function in female Wistar rats.     Tanaman kunyit(Curcuma) relatif mudah ditemukan dan penggunannya sudah meluas tidak hanya untuk keperluan memasak namun juga untuk kesehatan. kunyit (Curcuma) atau disebut Konyek dalam Bahasa Madura adalah tanaman yang sudah sering dimanfaatkan oleh masyarakat Desa Klabetan sebagai bahan pangan maupun obat tradisional yang sering disebut Jhemoh dalam Bahasa Madura. Secara umum minum jamu diracik dari tumbuhan telah terjadi mulai sejak turun-temurun oleh masyarakat Madura. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui persepsi masyarakat tentang pemanfaatan kunyit (Curcuma) di Desa Klabetan kecamatan Sepuluh kabupaten Bangkalan. Menggunakan metode deskriptif esploratif: studi pustaka, pengamatan di lapang, wawancara, analisis data dan dokumentasi persebaran tanaman kunyit (Curcuma) di Desa Klabetan Kecamatan Sepuluh Kabupaten Bangkalan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat dua karakteristik kunyit yaitu kunyit (Curcuma) dengan kunyit pada pada organ sebagai bahan pangan 51% , obat obatan 46% dan ritual adat 3%. Bagian organ tanaman (Curcuma) jumlah daun 38%, rimpang 50% batang 12%. Jumlah kunyit (Curcuma) yang ditemukan sebanyak 7 titik di Dusun Bindeng dan 6 titik Dusun Bilarangan dari tiga Dusun

    Efek Penambahan Bungkil Kedelai pada Pakan terhadap Pertambahan Berat Kelinci (Oryctolagus cuniculus): The Effect of Soybean Meal Addition in Feed to The Rabbit (Oryctolagus cuniculus) Weight Gain

    Animal feed can be obtained through the use of waste as a component of feed ingredients to meet nutritional needs, which is by using soybean meal in feed ingredients. The study aims to determine the effect of adding soybean meal to feed on rabbit weight gain as well as the composition of feed which is effective and efficient. The experimental research was arranged in a Completely Randomized Design with four treatments namely, control (P0) in the form of Pap Milk (SP), 8% soybean meal (P1), 10% soybean meal (P2), and 12% soybean meal (P3) with four replications. Data analysis using One Way Anova with Post Hoc Duncan Test. The results showed the differences in weight gain of rabbits in the four treatments of adding soybean meal to the feed. The result of statistical analysis of rabbit weight gain at the control treatment (P0), soybean meal 8% (P1), and soybean meal 10% (P2) were not significantly different. The treatment of 12% soybean meal (P3) showed the lowest weight gain. The treatment of 10% soybean meal (P2) showed the highest weight gain of rabbits with the lowest feed conversion value. So that the treatment of 10% soybean meal (P2) is an effective and efficient feed formula to increase the weight of rabbits.  Keywords: Soybean Meal, rabbit, rabbit weight gain   ABSTRAK Pakan ternak didapatkan melalui pemanfaatan limbah sebagai komponen bahan pakan untuk memenuhi nutrisi yang dibutuhkan, salah satunya dengan memanfaatan bungkil kedelai sebagai bahan pakan. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui efek penambahan bungkil kedelai pada pakan terhadap pertambahan berat kelinci serta formula pakan yang efektif dan efisien. Penelitian eksperimental disusun secara Rancangan Acak Lengkap dengan empat perlakuan yaitu, kontrol (P0) berupa Susu Pap (SP), bungkil kedelai 8% (P1), bungkil kedelai 10% (P2) dan bungkil kedelai 12% (P3) dengan empat ulangan. Data dianalisis menggunakan One Way Anova dengan Uji Lanjut Post Hoc. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan pertambahan berat kelinci pada empat perlakuan penambahan bungkil kedelai pada pakan. Hasil analisis statistik pertambahan berat kelinci pada perlakuan kontrol (P0), bungkil kedelai 8% (P1), dan bungkil kedelai 10% (P2) tidak berbeda nyata. Perlakuan P3 menunjukkan pertambahan berat kelinci terendah. Perlakuan bungkil kedelai 10% (P2) menunjukkan pertambahan berat kelinci tertinggi dengan nilai konversi pakan terendah.     Uji Toksisitas Subkronik 28 Hari Kombinasi Ekstrak Metanolik Benalu Teh dan Benalu Mangga Terhadap Profil Protein pada Tikus Wistar (Rattus norvegicus) Betina

    There are 3 indicators for indicating a protein breakdown in the blood through a total protein, albumin, and globulin stability. A compound capable of acting as antioxidants is needed to stabilize the protein's condition. This research is aimed at identifying the toxic effects of extract’s combination from tea parasite and mango parasite on the conditions of blood’s protein by giving EMBTBM constantly for 28 days. The data analysis used ANOVA one-way by SPSS version 17.0. As for the animal test used was a female Wistar rat of 20 with four treatments are control, treatment 1 with a dose of 250mg/Kg body weight (BW). Treatment 2 with a dose of 500mg/Kg body weight (BW) and treatment 3 with a dose of 1000mg/Kg body weight (BW). The result of this research shows that there is no difference between treatment and control over the results of a total protein and albumin. But, at the result of globulin, there is a difference between treatment and control. Therefore, EMBTBM is safe for profile protein and does not cause toxicity because protein is stable and not over-reducing.   Keywords:Subchronic,Total Proteins, Albumine, Globuline, ToxicityProfil protein adalah  parameter yang seringkali digunakan sebagai indikator untuk mendeteksi adanya kerusakan pada fungsi hepar. Munculnya kerusakan pada fungsi hepar akan memberikan informasi tentang pemaparan suatu zat terhadap tubuh makhluk hidup. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui efek toksik dari kombinasi ekstrak benalu teh dan benalu mangga terhadap profil protein dalam darah dengan pemaparan secara terus-menerus (subkronik) selama 28 hari. Analisis data menggunakan uji ANOVA one-way software SPSS versi 17.0. Hewan uji yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah tikus wistar betina sebanyak 20 ekor dengan empat perlakuan yaitu kontrol, perlakuan 1 dengan dosis 250mg/KgBB, perlakuan 2 dengan dosis 500mg/KgBB dan perlakuan 3 dengan dosis 1000mg/KgBB. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan tidak berbeda nyata rerata kadar total protein dan albumin antara kontrol dan kelompok perlakuan. Pada hasil rerata kadar globulin menunjukkan perbedaan yang nyata antara perlakuan dengan kontrol. Dari tiga parameter yang diteliti dua diantaranya menunjukkan hasil tidak beda nyata antara tikus kontrol dengan tikus yang dipapar dengan EMBTBM (tikus yang diberi perlakuan). Kesimpulan menunjukkan bahwa pemaparan EMBTBM aman terhadap profil protein dan tidak menyebabkan toksik dikarenakan nilai rerata kadar profil protein yang meliputi total protein, albumin dan globulin dalam keadaan stabil dan tidak mengalami peningkatan berlebih.       Kata kunci: Subkronik, Total Protein, Albumin, Globulin, Toksisitas. &nbsp

    Antidiabetes Serbuk Umbi Tanaman Yakon (Smallanthus sonchifolius) pada Kadar Gula Darah Tikus Putih (Rattus norvegicus)

    The routine and long-term use of oral antidiabetic drugs in DM patients can make the public's perception worried about the side effects of the drug. In the Yakon (SS) plant tuber there is Fructooligosacaraide (FOS) which can reduce blood sugar levels. The research objective was to determine the effect of Yakon plant tubers on blood sugar levels in white rats with type 2 diabetes mellitus model. This type of research was experimental with a pre-post test design with control-group design. Independent variable, administration of Yakon plant tuber powder, dependent variable, blood glucose levels. The sample was divided into 2 groups (dose 1, dose 2) and a control group, each of 6 rats. The mice were given a high carbohydrate diet for 9 weeks. Treatment dose 1 (100 mg / kgBB) for 3 days. Measurement of blood sugar levels using Gluco-Dr. Data analysis used Paired Sample T-test, Independent Sample T-test, and One Way Anova. The results showed that the rats in the treatment group dose 1 experienced a decrease in the average blood sugar level of 122.83 mg / dl (p 0.002) (p 0.009). This shows that there is an effect of using Yakon plant tuber powder on blood sugar levels. The results of this study were the control group and the treatment group dose 1 (Sig. (2-tailed) = 0.000, α = 0.05). Meanwhile, the comparison results showed that there was a difference between the control group and the treatment group at dose 1, Based on the above research, Yakon tubers can be used to reduce blood sugar levels.Penggunaan obat oral antidiabetes pada pasien DM secara rutin dan jangka panjang dapat membuat persepsi masyarakat khawatir dengan efek samping dari obat tersebut. Pada umbi tanaman Yakon (SS) terdapat Fruktooligosakaraida (FOS) yang mampu menurunkan kadar gula darah. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui pengaruh umbi tanaman Yakon terhadap kadar gula darah tikus putih model diabetes mellitus tipe 2. Jenis penelitian ini eksperimen dengan desain pre-post test with control-group design. Variabel independen, pemberian serbuk umbi tanaman Yakon, variabel dependen, kadar glukosa darah. Sampel terbagi menjadi 2 kelompok (dosis 1, dosis 2) dan kelompok  kontrol, masing-masing 6 ekor tikus. Tikus diberikan diet tinggi karbohidrat selama 9 minggu. Perlakuan dosis 1 (100 mg/kgBB ), selama 3 hari. Pengukuran kadar gula darah menggunakan Gluco-Dr. Analisis data menggunakan Paired Sample T-test, Independent Sample T-test, dan One Way Anova. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan tikus kelompok perlakuan dosis 1 mengalami penurunan rata-rata kadar gula darah sebesar 122,83 mg/dl (p 0,002). Hal tersebut menunjukkan ada pengaruh pemberian serbuk umbi tanaman Yakon terhadap kadar gula darah. Hasil penelitian kelompok kontrol dan perlakuan dosis 1 (Sig.(2-tailed) = 0,000, α = 0,05) Sedangkan hasil perbandingan menunjukkan adanya perbedaan antara kelompok kontrol dengan kelompok perlakuan dosis 1, (Sig.(2-tailed) = 0,000, α = 0,05).     Perbandingan Kuantitas dan Kualitas DNA Bacillus sp. antara Heat Treatment dan Filter berbasis Kit: The Quantity and Quality Comparison of Bacillus sp. DNA between Heat Treatment and Filter Based Kit

    Diagnosis of bacterial infection can be done quickly with simplified DNA isolation methods, such as Heat Treatment, which is a simple and inexpensive DNA isolation method, but detection and quantification levels of Bacillus sp. still unknown. This study aims to compare the quantity and quality of DNA isolates from Bacillus sp. using Heat Treatment etraction method and Filter Based isolation method. This research used in vitro experiment method. Heat Treatment is compared to Filter Based Kit according to Limit of Detection (LoD) and Limit of Quantification (LoQ). Data analyzed with ANOVA and Honesty Significant Difference (HSD). DNA yield obtained by Heat Treatment at the highest concentration was 5 µg/ml, whereas Filter Based Kit was 3.67 µg/ml. LoD of the Heat treatment and Filter Based Kit were 1.61 and 5.72 µg/ml, while LoQ of the Heat treatment and Filter Based Kit were 4.87 and 17.34 µg/ml. The number of bacteria that exceeded the LoD and LoQ of Heat Treatment was 101 and 104 CFU/ml, whereas the LoD and LoQ of Filter Based Kit was >104 CFU/ml. The quantitiy of Bacillus sp. DNA with Heat Treatment method is better than Filter Based Kit. The quality of Bacillus sp. DNA both the Heat Treatment and Filter Based Kit methods are not good.  Keywords: DNA isolation, Bacillus sp., heat treatment, Filter Based Kit ABSTRAK Penegakkan diagnosis infeksi bakteri dapat dilakukan secara cepat dengan metode isolasi DNA yang telah disederhanakan, seperti Heat Treatment yang merupakan metode ekstraksi DNA sederhana dan ekonomis, namun tingkat deteksi dan kuantifikasi terhadap Bacillus sp. masih belum diketahui. Penelitian ini bertujuan membandingkan kuantitas dan kualitas DNA dari Bacillus sp. dengan menggunakan metode ekstraksi Heat Treatment dan metode isolasi Filter Based Kit. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian eksperimen secara in vitro. Heat Treatment dibandingkan dengan Filter Based Kit berdasarkan Limit of Detection (LoD) and Limit of Quantification (LoQ). Analisa data menggunakan uji ANOVA serta uji Honesty Significant Diference (HSD). Yield DNA yang didapatkan Heat Treatment pada konsentrasi terbesar adalah 5 µg/ml, sedangkan dengan Filter Based Kit adalah 3.67 µg/ml. Nilai LoD Heat treatment dan Filter Based Kit adalah 1.61 µg/ml dan 5.72 µg/ml, sedangkan nilai LoQ Heat treatment dan Filter Based Kit adalah 4.87 µg/ml dan 17.34 µg/ml. Jumlah bakteri yang melebihi nilai LoD dan LoQ Heat treatment adalah 101 CFU/ml dan 104 CFU/ml, sementara LoD dan LoQ Filter Based Kit adalah >104 CFU/ml. Kuantitas DNA Bacillus sp. dengan metode Heat Treatment lebih baik dibandingkan dengan Filter Based Kit.     Community behavior in disposing of waste plays an important role in improving public health. Community participation is needed to reduce the amount of waste, especially the role of housewives. Efforts to reduce the amount of household waste require support, one of which is the public perception of household waste processing. So far, people do not have the habit of sorting and selecting waste so that the amount of waste disposed of at TPS continues to increase. This increase can affect the environmental conditions around the TPS if there is an accumulation of waste in the long term. This study aims to analyze public perceptions of TPS Tegalgondo and TPS Kepuharjo and to analyze the environmental conditions around TPS Tegalgondo and TPS Kepuharjo in Karangploso District. The method used in this research is descriptive quantitative and direct field surveys. Based on the results of research conducted.
