Andersen Hall Interior in 1960s
No full textThe interior of Andersen Hall in the 1960s. The mansion at 1700 Ivanhoe Boulevard was given to Rollins by Mr. and Mrs. Martin Andersen. Mr. Andersen was the first owner and publisher of the Orlando Sentinel until 1965, and was a big influence in the shaping of Central Florida. Since the residence was not on the college campus, the restrictions for its use were servere. Therefore, the house was sold in 1969, and eventually torn down in the 1970s

Rose Skillman Hall Exterior in the 1990s
No full textThe exterior of the Rose Skillman hall in the 1990s. The hall was built in 1958 to serve as the dining area for Rollins students. The hall was named after Rose Skillman, an honorable Rollins Trustee who later earned an honorary degree from the college in 1960. In 1972 its lower level became the campus bookstore. The hall was almost completely torn down in 1999 when it was renovated into the Cornell Campus Center (only the kitchen remains)

Seated at the platform was student Fred Lauten, swimming instructor Harry Meisel, Waterskiiing instructot and Dean of the night school Dan Riva, alumni Fleetwood Peeples, President of the Rollins Parents Association Marilyn Wilson, guest of honor Harold Alfond, his wife Dorothy, oldest son Ted Alfond(class of 1971), his wife Barbara (class of 1968), son William Alfond, his wife Joan Alfond, son-in-law Robert Pearl, his wife and Alfond's only daughter Susan Pearl, youngest son Peter Alfond (class of 1975), Dean of the Chapel Theodore Darrah, and alumni Dennis Casey. All listen while President Critchfield reads the dedication. Building for the pool was made possible by the generous donation of Harold Alfond
