Research on the Construction and Application of High-Quality Online Open Courses in Higher Vocational Colleges
Get PDFWith the rapid development of digital education, the construction of high-quality online open courses has become an important direction for educational reform in higher vocational colleges. Taking the Mobile Network Fundamentals Practice course as an example, this study explores the construction and application pathways of high-quality online open courses based on the concept of competency-oriented education. Through university-enterprise cooperation, resource integration, and curriculum reconstruction, the study aligns course content closely with industry standards and job requirements, building a student-centered and ability-oriented teaching system. By employing big data and artificial intelligence technologies, the study enables precise analysis and dynamic optimization of the teaching process, thereby improving course quality and learning outcomes. Through project-based task design, diversified teaching methods, and multi-dimensional evaluation systems, this research demonstrates that competency-oriented online open courses significantly enhance students’ professional literacy, innovation capacity, and employability. The findings provide a replicable model and valuable insights for promoting digital transformation and high-quality curriculum development in vocational education
Presentation of China’s National Image in Foreign News Media
Get PDFThe article aimed to analyze the presentation of China’s national image through China related reports in BBC news website in the UK and CNN news website in the USA. The research utilized descriptive and qualitative approaches that used thematic, stylistic and content analyses to analyze the themes, content, and emotional tone in foreign news reports on China. Results of the data analysis showed that the common themes were on economic, healthcare, politics, sports and social issues. Stylistic devices like lexical, rhetorical, and syntactic strategies were used dominantly by journalist. A rising China, a cooperative China, a competitive China and a mysterious China were presented in foreign news media. Nonetheless, the emotion tone about China tends to be more negative than neutral or positive. Results would serve as a reference to better understand the international community’s perceptions of China, and ultimately cultivate awareness of international understanding through cross-cultural communication

By analyzing the changes in the U.S.-ROK alliance under the leadership of the Yoon Seok-youl government, this article delves into factors such as asymmetry, deepening military cooperation, trilateral cooperation under the threat of North Korea, as well as the impact of competition between China and the United States, imbalanced public opinion and economic cooperation in South Korea on the alliance relationship. The article believes that although the U.S.-ROK alliance is closely cooperating strategically, it still faces complex challenges, and its future direction will depend on the interweaving and game of multiple factors
Research on the Application of Case Teaching Method in Business English Writing
Get PDFThis paper reviews the relevant research on the application of case teaching method in writing teaching in China from 2003 to 2023, and summarizes four themes: the applicable course type of case teaching method, the applicable object of case teaching method, the construction of case database, and the applicability of case teaching method in business English teaching. On the basis of literature combing and analysis, this paper points out that this field is facing some problems, such as the lack of ability of teachers and students, the insufficient construction of case database and the insufficient breadth of research, and puts forward some suggestions and prospects for future practice and research of writing case teaching
Randomness Exploration in Daily Detected Overloaded Trucks (An Experimental Study)
Get PDFSince the overload detection program is a main concern for transport authorities to prevent road damage and enhance road safety, this paper investigates the randomness in the number of daily overloaded vehicles detected throughout the month. The concern is crucial where it is said that detected overloaded vehicle drops over the month. For this purpose, the randomness of daily detected overloaded vehicles has been tested by utilizing the familiar statistical method of “Runs Test”, in which the numbers of daily detected vehicles are considered observation. Data, for detecting trucks as overloading across the intercity roads in the West-Asian country of Iran, has been collected for a year followed by categorizing into thirty days to check the randomness pattern. The results revealed that, despite fluctuating stats, the number of detected overloaded vehicles follows a random pattern instead of a specific pattern in increasing or decreasing trends believed in the rumours. Since the number of daily overloaded vehicles exhibits randomness during a month and all types of trucks including trailers (detachable trucks), heavy trucks, and light trucks have been investigated, transport authorities are recommended to focus more on the methods of weighing enforcement to ensure that sufficient overloading enforcement activities are performed
A Study on Chinese-English Translation of Henan Tourism Texts from the Perspective of Reception Aesthetics Theory
Get PDFWith the vigorous development of tourism industry in China, studies on tourism translation have received much attention. Henan is the province with abundant tourism resources in the Central Plains and attracts many tourists every year. As a direct means of international promotion of tourism resources, tourism texts translation is of the great importance. Based on the data of Henan tourism texts, this study analyzes the existing problems in translation of Henan tourism texts with the intention to improve translation quality from the perspective of reception aesthetics theory. It is found that spelling errors and translation errors can be found in the translated texts and that there is a lack of attention to the reader-oriented principle in the translated texts. Various translation techniques should be adopted by the translator to meet the reader’s expectations. This study can provide valuable insights to Chinese-English translation practice of tourism texts and is of importance to the study of tourism texts
A Critical Analysis of Lexicon and Phonological Development through Children’s Songs in First Language Acquisition
Get PDFThis paper investigates the significance of children’s songs in promoting vocabulary and phonological development during first language acquisition, especially within diverse and multicultural educational contexts. It adopts Sociocultural, Postmodern, and Interactionist theoretical frameworks to analyse the influence of these songs on language learning. Sociocultural theory emphasises the crucial role of social interactions and cultural relevance in language development. In contrast, Postmodern theory critiques the cultural biases frequently found in traditional song selections and advocates for broader inclusive linguistic representation. Interactionist theory underscores the importance of interactive and multisensory experiences in facilitating language acquisition. The study finds that children’s songs’ repetitive structures and rhythms significantly aid vocabulary development and phonological awareness. However, it also identifies challenges such as cultural biases and limited opportunities for individual feedback in group learning environments. To address these issues, the research recommends expanding the repertoire of songs to include diverse linguistic and cultural elements, promoting equity in language learning and fostering a richer cultural understanding. The paper underscores their potential as practical tools for promoting language development while catering to learners’ varied needs by situating children’s songs within a broader, inclusive teaching framework
Research on Nobel Literature Prize winner Yan Mo’s Transformations of Writing Styles from the Perspective of Magical Realism
Get PDFYan Mo, China’s first Nobel Prize winner for literature, has largely experienced two transformations of writing styles. However, magical realism has always been the main characteristics of his writing creation. During the first period ( between the year 1981 to the time he studied in PLA Academy of Arts) , he concentrated chiefly on his daily life in the army and his writing style was soft and fresh. Then using bold brushstrokes and unique perspectives, he turned to depict the colorful stories of numerous characters in his hometown with magical realism and rich imagination, leading him all the way to his winning of the Nobel Prize for literature in 2012. After experiencing about five years of creative silence, Yan Mo experienced another creative transformation from novels to dramas with the publication of the drama Crocodile as a representative. Dramas are significant components of Yan Mo’s literary works, but most people only attach great importance to Yan Mo’s researches on magical realism in his novels. Fewer people do researches about his dramas, with even fewer researchers making comparison between Yan Mo’s Transformation of Writing styles. So this article is to use the textual analysis to explore the factors that account for his use of magical realism in the two transformations and analyze the inheritances and developments in his writing Characteristics of magical realism in the two stages. In a word, there are four purposes for this paper : (1) to explore the development of magical realism in Yan Mo’s literary creation and the contributing factors. (2) to explore the transformations of magical realism before Yan Mo won the Nobel Prize for literature and its Unique characteristics. (3) to explore the differences of the use of magical Realism after he won the Noble Prize for literature in 2012. (4) to explore the reasons for Yan Mo’s transformation and conclude the research gap

The development of these organization is well recognized and they reached their peak at the beginning of the INTIFADA.Until the creation of the Palestinian Authority (PA), women’s organisations formed part of the national struggle against the Israeli occupation, and their agenda was subordinate to that of the national movement. In the late 1980s, however, a process of transformation was initiated that provided women’s organisations with the opportunity to focus on women’s issues. Indeed, since the creation of the PA, women’s organisations have focused almost exclusively on women’s issues. The PA, in contrast, has attempted to marginalize women, as reflected in the process of its consolidation. As a result, women’s organisations have attempted to influence PA policy with the objective of improving the position of women in Palestinian society.
