Problems and Optimization of Forest Rights Mortgage Loans in China Using Blockchain
Forestry has an important role in Chinese economic development, and the forest rights mortgage loan is an important mechanism to realize the value of forest resources. Its development is a part of the important strategic guidelines of inclusive finance and rural revitalization in China. After decades of development, the forest rights mortgage loan business has been promoted throughout the country. However, it faces obstacles in practice. Blockchain technology is considered as “the most influential revolutionary technology in the next few decades. With its advantages of transparency, traceability, and decentralization, it empowers the rural economy for the development of agricultural product traceability, rural financial services, and land management. We analyzed existing problems during and after the loan and proposed an optimization method from the technical, regulatory, and application perspectives based on blockchain. The method provides a reference for the future development of forest rights mortgage loans in China
Scattered Notes on Reading Mr. C. K. Yang’s Religion in Chinese Society
Why C. K. Yang’s classic work Religion in Chinese Societyis considered a “biblical”-level sociological classic in the study of Chinese religion stems mainly from its three core contributions: First, a unique dynamic research perspective.Unlike previous studies that focused on historical textual criticism or philosophical speculation, C. K. Yang viewed religion as a dynamic, functional component within Chinese social life, vividly depicting the complex interactive relationships between religion and secular institutions such as the family, socio-economic groups, and state politics.Second, profound historical consciousness and methodological innovation.Yang's research is permeated with a clear historical awareness, treating tradition and modernity as interconnected wholes rather than ruptures. He creatively employed the conceptual pair of "institutional religion" and "diffused religion" to effectively explain the characteristic integration of Chinese religion into the secular social order, avoiding the barriers and misunderstandings inherent in models based on Western institutional religion.Third, academic practice that actively responds to issues of the era.Set against the historical backdrop of the “impact-response” model in Western Sinology, Yang’s research was not only a scholarly refutation of claims like Liang Qichao’s that “China has no religion”, but also embodied how that generation of intellectuals, amidst epochal changes, used academic research to explore the fundamental question of “Whither China?” It reflects a deep sense of “scholarly concern for the world”. In conclusion, Yang’s work transcends the mere study of religion; its ultimate goal is to use religion as a methodto profoundly understand Chinese society itself. This broad vision ensures the enduring relevance of his academic legacy
Exploration and Practice of Teaching Reform of AI Empowerment
With the rapid development of artificial intelligence technology such as large language model, the professional development of software engineering is undergoing profound changes. There are some problems in the teaching of traditional software engineering course, such as boring theory and few practical links. This study uses AI tools to empower teaching, runs through real project cases in teaching, and reconstructs teaching content according to students' learning characteristics. By deeply integrating AI tools into the software life cycle of software projects, such as requirements analysis, system design, coding, testing and document writing, the curriculum team builds a mixed teaching mode of “theory leading, tool empowerment and project driving”. The teaching practice of one semester shows that the reform can effectively stimulate students’ interest in learning, improve their engineering practice ability, man-machine cooperation ability and critical thinking, and significantly improve the project completion and code quality, which provides a reference path for training software engineering talents to meet the needs of the intelligent era
A Study on the Impact of Corporate Governance Levels on Enterprises' Green Transformation
Corporate governance serves as a critical factor in incentivizing and ensuring enterprises proactively pursue green transformation. Against this backdrop, this study incorporates labor structure optimization into its research model using data from Chinese A-share listed companies on the Shanghai and Shenzhen stock exchanges from 2012 to 2023. It systematically examines the causal mechanism linking corporate governance levels to enterprise green transformation. Findings indicate that corporate governance levels significantly promote green transformation, a conclusion that remains robust after a series of stability tests. Heterogeneity analysis reveals that the promotional effect of corporate governance on green development is more pronounced for state-owned enterprises, high-tech firms, and companies with low financing constraints. In terms of transmission mechanisms, corporate governance drives green transformation by optimizing both the quality and functional structure of the workforce. This study not only sheds light on the drivers of recent trends in corporate human capital levels but also holds significant implications for promoting the sustained and stable development of corporate green transformation
Race, Ethnicity, Socioeconomic Status, and Chronic Lung Disease in the U.S.
Background: Higher socioeconomic status (SES) indicators such as educational attainment and income reduce the risk of chronic lung diseases (CLDs) such as Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), emphysema, chronic bronchitis, and asthma. Marginalization-related Diminished Returns (MDRs) refer to smaller health benefits of high SES for marginalized populations such as racial and ethnic minorities compared to the socially privileged groups such as non-Hispanic Whites. It is still unknown, however, if MDRs also apply to the effects of education and income on CLDs. Purpose: Using a nationally representative sample, the current study explored racial and ethnic variation in the associations between educational attainment and income and CLDs among American adults. Methods: In this study, we analyzed data (n = 25,659) from a nationally representative survey of American adults in 2013 and 2014. Wave one of the Population Assessment of Tobacco and Health (PATH)-Adult study was used. The independent variables were educational attainment (less than high school = 1, high school graduate = 2, and college graduate = 3) and income (living out of poverty = 1, living in poverty = 0). The dependent variable was any CLDs (i.e., COPD, emphysema, chronic bronchitis, and asthma). Age, gender, employment, and region were the covariates. Race and ethnicity were the moderators. Logistic regressions were fitted to analyze the data. Results: Individuals with higher educational attainment and those with higher income (who lived out of poverty) had lower odds of CLDs. Race and ethnicity showed statistically significant interactions with educational attainment and income, suggesting that the protective effects of high education and income on reducing odds of CLDs were smaller for Blacks and Hispanics than for non-Hispanic Whites. Conclusions: Education and income better reduce the risk of CLDs among Whites than Hispanics and Blacks. That means we should expect disproportionately higher than expected risk of CLDs in Hispanics and Blacks with high SES. Future research should test if high levels of environmental risk factors contribute to the high risk of CLDs in high income and highly educated Black and Hispanic Americans. Policy makers should not reduce health inequalities to SES gaps because disparities sustain across SES levels, with high SES Blacks and Hispanics remaining at risk of health problems
Research on Environmental Monitoring Data Sharing Based on Blockchain Technology
The importance of secure and efficient sharing of environmental monitoring data is increasingly prominent. However, it still faces numerous challenges, including data silo barriers, conflicts between security and privacy, and difficulties in credible traceability. This paper organically integrates the spatial encoding capability of GeoHash algorithm, the distributed storage capability of InterPlanetary File System, and the fine-grained management capability of Hyperledger Fabric blockchain into an environmental monitoring data sharing framework. It innovatively proposes a sharing model tailored to spatiotemporal sensitivity, massive volume, multi-source heterogeneity, and station correlation characteristics of environment monitoring data, and constructs a consortium blockchain-based architecture for environment monitoring data sharing. Meanwhile, air quality monitoring data was selected as a typical sample to test and evaluate the system's functionality. Results demonstrate that this model resolves privacy conflicts and performance bottlenecks, ensures credible sharing and controllable permission, and confirms the feasibility and effectiveness of the system architecture. This model not only deepens the application value of blockchain technology in environmental monitoring and governance but also provides significant theoretical references and practical paradigms for constructing a nationwide unified, cross-regional collaborative environmental monitoring data credible sharing network

A Comparative Study of Gender Language Differences in Two Translation Versions of To the Lighthouse from the Perspective of Feminist Translation
To the Lighthouse is a modernist literary classic by Virginia Woolf that integrates feminist ideology and stream-of-consciousness narrative. This study, taking Qu Shijing and Ma Ainong's translations as examples, explores how the three major feminist translation strategies are reflected in the Gender Language Differences of different translators from the perspective of feminist translation theory. The research finds that translators of different genders employ different translation strategies to achieve their translation goals. Female translators are more inclined to actively intervene in the text content and use strategies such as “hijacking” and “supplementation” to realize the characteristics of female discourse and construct female discourse power. However, male translators often favor faithful expressions. By preserving the grammatical structure of the original text, selecting neutral terms, or diminishing gender-related metaphors, they bring the translated text closer to conventional literary standards. Their intervention strategies tend to be more implicit and restrained. The research provides an empirical case from a transgender perspective for the study of feminist literary translation, highlighting that translation is not only a language conversion but also a field where gender concepts collide
A Study on the Cultivation of Global Awareness in the Level II Translation Proficiency Test Based on Large Language Models
This study analyzes the 2011-2023 test corpus of the China Accreditation Test for Translators and Interpreters (Catti) to examine how its design fosters candidates’ global awareness. The findings show that the exam promotes four major types of awareness: cultural diversity, ecological values, global citizenship, and international engagement. By incorporating topics related to global issues, environmental changes, technological development, cultural exchange, and China’s role in the international community, the test content strengthens candidates’ understanding of international affairs and their sense of global responsibility while broadening their perspectives. Moreover, by embedding real-world contexts and internationally relevant themes, the exam encourages candidates to engage with contemporary global discourses. The study highlights that translation tests not only assess language proficiency but also play a constructive role in developing candidates’ interdisciplinary knowledge, critical thinking ability, and overall competencies in a globalized era
