Consistency as an Indeterminate Factor for Rationality
Consistency and rationality are aligned with each other because they are presumed to be conterminous, but this conclusion is suspect because irrational behavior when continuous and deliberately directed is also consistent. Beneath the analysis of a relationship between consistency and rationality lies free choice as the foundation for human behavior. Because consistency has reduced relevance, an individual’s behavior when grounded in subjectivity becomes the pivotal characteristic for all actions, whether rational or irrational. If irrationality means that a person has moved away from himself because a rift has appeared between rational behavior as the expression for one’s own well-being and the world at large, then consistency becomes subordinate or reduced in meaning
The Evolution of the Concept of Time: From the Cyclical Theory of Ancient Greece to the Ontological Reconstruction of Modern Subjective Rationality
The evolution of the concept of time has undergone three major stages: the cyclical theory of ancient Greece, the linear view of Christianity, and the modern reconstruction based on subjective rationality, revealing a profound transformation in humanity’s ontological cognition. Rooted in celestial cycles and natural rhythms, Ancient Greece constructed a model of eternal recurrence that dissolved the directionality of history. Through the redemptive narrative of Creation and Apocalypse Judgment, Medieval Christianity established a unidirectional, linear conception of time, infused the divine purpose into the course of history and internalized it as a perceptual framework for the soul’s extension. By the modern era, the Scientific Revolution and the rise of subjective rationality had subverted tradition, pushing the conception of time from cosmic order to subjective construction. This process not only presents a cognitive leap from dependence on nature to the authority of reason, but also reflects human beings’ complete ontological awakening from cosmology to existentialism in the co-construction of time and existence
E-Procurement Practices and Business Efficiency in a Selected Retail Business in Taiyuan City, China
This study examines the implementation of e-procurement strategies and their impact on business efficiency within a selected retail business. The research evaluates key constructs—supplier relationship management, technology adoption, process automation, cost reduction and savings, and supply chain integration—revealing that these strategies are generally perceived as effectively implemented, with ratings consistently within the "Agree-Implemented" range. Data collected from a diverse group of employees, varying by sex, position, and length of service, indicate that while gender does not significantly affect perceptions, some differences emerge based on organizational role and tenure, particularly in areas such as supplier relationship management and supply chain integration. Furthermore, the assessment of business efficiency—spanning financial, operational, and strategic dimensions—shows that e-procurement initiatives contribute positively to improved profitability, streamlined operations, and strategic alignment. A significant positive correlation (r = 0.311, p = 0.000) between e-procurement practices and overall business efficiency underscores the importance of these strategies in enhancing organizational performance. The findings suggest that although e-procurement is effectively leveraged to boost efficiency, there remain opportunities for further refinement, particularly in integrating supplier management with strategic decision-making. Consequently, the study recommends targeted improvements in employee training, supplier collaboration tools, and continuous system enhancements to maximize the strategic benefits of e-procurement
Research on the Impact of Innovation Investment Sustainability on Enterprise Total Factor Productivity
Continuous innovation is an important prerequisite for enterprises to build dynamic competitive advantages in a highly complex and uncertain external environment. Therefore, this paper discusses how to improve the total factor productivity of enterprises from the perspective of the sustainability of innovation input. This paper uses the panel data of Shenzhen and Shanghai listed companies from 2008 to 2023 to test how the sustainability of innovation input affects the total factor productivity of enterprises. The study found that: ① The sustainability of innovation input has a positive correlation with the total factor productivity of enterprises and has passed a series of robustness tests such as the replacement variable method, the addition of control variables method, the lagged one-period method and the elimination of special values. ② The regression coefficient of the impact of the sustainability of innovation input on the total factor productivity of enterprises in the central region is the highest, and the regression coefficient of the impact of the sustainability of innovation input on the total factor productivity of enterprises in the eastern region is the lowest. Among non-state-owned enterprises, the regression coefficient of the impact of the sustainability of innovation input on the total factor productivity of enterprises is higher than that of state-owned enterprises. And relevant suggestions are put forward

Deflation and the Decoupling of Economy and Financialization
Certo! Ecco un riassunto formale del documento “Deflation and the decoupling of economy and financialization”:The paper discusses the decoupling between the real economy and financialization, highlighting how the financial crisis of 2008-2009 has shown that the development of financialization is not irreversible. Despite the perception of zero risk and out-of-market real estate values, the crisis has revealed the weakness of the real economy. Deflation is identified as a new enemy, appearing when debt exceeds income, depressing the value of capital and creating problems for production and sale. Olivier Blanchard’s proposal on Eurobonds aims to strengthen the euro and improve the EU’s financial stability but presents political and fiscal challenges. Financial speculation, fueled by private debt, weakens the real economy and creates a decoupling between the financial market and the real economy. The financial crisis of 2008-2009 did not solve the problem but only mitigated the impact of private debt. The resistance of economic systems to speculative play depends on the decline of global economic development and the ability to absorb downward shocks in financial values. As regards the future prospects, it is essential that economic policies focus on reducing private debt and stabilizing financial markets in order to avoid further crises. In addition, the implementation of instruments such as Eurobonds could help strengthen the European economy, but it requires significant political and fiscal commitment. The main challenge will be to find a balance between economic growth and financial stability, ensuring that the real economy is not sacrificed in favor of financial speculation
Study on Nutritional Status of Rural Primary School Children in Bangladesh
Background: This study investigates the nutritional status of rural primary school children in Bangladesh, a demographic that is particularly vulnerable to malnutrition due to socio-economic challenges, limited access to healthcare, and inadequate dietary practices. Objective: The research aims to assess the prevalence of undernutrition, including stunting, wasting, and underweight, among children aged 6 to 12 years in selected rural areas. Utilizing a cross-sectional design, data were collected from 139 children through anthropometric measurements, dietary assessments, and socio-economic surveys. Methodology: The findings reveal a concerning prevalence of malnutrition, with approximately 30% of the children classified as stunted, 15% as wasted, and 25% as underweight. These rates are significantly higher than the national averages, indicating a critical public health issue in rural settings. Factors contributing to poor nutritional status include low household income, inadequate maternal education, and limited access to diverse food sources. Results: The implications of these findings are profound, suggesting an urgent need for targeted interventions to address malnutrition among rural primary school children in Bangladesh. Conclusion: This study highlights the critical intersection of nutrition, education, and socio-economic factors in shaping the health of rural children in Bangladesh
Inter-Provincial Differences and Influencing Factors of Carbon Information Disclosure in China: Empirical Evidence from Listed Firms in Low-Carbon Pilot Provinces and Cities
With the increasing global warming and rising sea levels, reducing carbon emissions has become an important concern for countries around the world. China has been committed to actively addressing global climate change for many years and has introduced a series of policies, including low-carbon pilot provinces and cities, to promote emissions reduction in various regions and industries. This study takes A-share listed firms from ten provincial-level administrative regions in China’s low-carbon pilot provinces and cities as samples, analyzes the spatiotemporal distribution of carbon information disclosure quality of firms in various regions and industries in China from 2015 to 2019, and uses a multiple regression model to analyze the differences in influencing factors of carbon information disclosure quality among firms in different regions. The study finds that the quality of carbon information disclosure by firms in China has been improving year by year, but the overall disclosure quality is still low. There is generally less disclosure of climate change-related risks, opportunities and actions, and GHG emissions accounting. In addition, human capital intensive industries with relatively less direct carbon emissions also have lower carbon information disclosure quality. Moreover, there are regional differences in the quality and influencing factors of carbon information disclosure by firms in China. The carbon information disclosure quality of firms in the east coastal area of China is relatively higher than that of firms in the central and western China. Some influencing factors in existing literature have a significant impact on the quality of carbon information disclosure by firms in the east coastal area of China, but have no significant impact on the quality of carbon information disclosure by firms in the central and western China. This study not only enriches the relevant research and theory of carbon information disclosure by firms, but also helps the government and firms promote carbon information disclosure through policy formulation and optimization of corporate governance structure
