Reconstructing the Visual Communication Semiotic System of Ceramic Sculptures

    Get PDF
This paper is committed to constructing a systematic analytical framework, aiming to conduct an in-depth exploration of the semiotic resources employed by the creators of New China’s ceramic sculpture artworks from the 1950s to the 1970s. In the field of semiotic research on ceramic sculpture art, the academic community presents a dual-core research orientation: on the one hand, it focuses on “extra-textual” factors, emphasizing the investigation of contextualized social and historical elements that directly influence creative design decisions; on the other hand, it places “intra-textual” factors in a core research position. This orientation draws on the analytical logic of linguistic signs and defines ceramic sculpture, as a form of visual communication, as a semiotic system with systematicity and codability. This paper selects O’Toole’s (1994) Functional Analysis of Sculpture, a typical theoretical paradigm of the “intra-textual” research orientation, and conducts a critical evaluation of it by integrating multi-disciplinary visual theories, so as to systematically reveal the limitations of this analytical method when interpreting the semiotic resources of ceramic sculptures in a specific historical period. On this basis, the paper further points out that to achieve an effective analysis of the semiotic resources of ceramic sculptures, it is essential to fully incorporate the inherent pluralistic and essential characteristics of visual communication

This approach can comprehensively enhance the scientificity, standardization, and effectiveness of counselors' work, providing theoretical support and practical paradigms for universities to build excellent counselor teams characterized by high quality, strong professionalism, and good stability

AIGC Empowers the Innovation and Fashion Design Practice of Intangible Cultural Heritage She Ethnic Costume Cultural Elements: A Path Exploration

    Get PDF
Against the backdrop of accelerating globalization and digitalization, traditional intangible cultural heritage faces a severe crisis of inheritance. This paper takes the national-level intangible cultural heritage project—the traditional costumes of the She ethnic group—as its research object, exploring the application potential of Artificial Intelligence Generated Content technology in the digital translation and redesign of intangible cultural heritage clothing. Utilizing AIGC tools such as Midjourney, ChatGPT, and DALL·E, this study conducts contemporary expression and visual reconstruction of She ethnic costumes from five dimensions: clothing structure language, color expression, totem pattern symbols, craftsmanship materials, and cultural narrative. Combining this with the "Dalian Cup" International Youth Fashion Design Competition and the "Shefeng Niepan" series design practice, this research systematically analyzes the practical operational paths and innovative value of AIGC in reconstructing traditional structural modules, intelligently generating emotional colors, translating totem visual symbols, digitally integrating traditional crafts, and constructing cultural spiritual narratives. From the perspective of design style interpretation, this paper also analyzes how AIGC achieves stylized interpretation and fashionable semantic transformation of minority costume cultural elements across four aspects: conceptual art style, urban classic style, youth trend style, and neo-oriental style. The research shows that AIGC technology is not only a creative tool but also provides a platform for co-creation of ethnic culture. A tripartite integration model of "Intangible Cultural Heritage × AIGC × Fashion Design" is proposed, establishing a four-step framework of "Data Collection - Feature Extraction - Generative Training - Design Verification," providing a systematic path and research paradigm for the digital transformation and cultural revitalization of intangible cultural heritage in fashion design

The Subjective Essence of Wealth in Marx and the Critique of Digital Alienation

    Get PDF
The essence of wealth in a capitalist economic form is reduced by political economy to the source of value—labor, thereby presenting it as a subjectivity. With the development of private ownership, labor shifts from being special to general and, upon contact with capital, becomes alienated abstract labor. Marx, through his critique of abstract labor, demonstrates from historical, social, and subjective dimensions that the subjective essence of wealth is the realization of human needs, abilities, and creativity through free and conscious labor under the conditions of the abolition of private property. This provides a solid theoretical foundation for critiquing the alienation of digital labor in digital capitalism, such as the historical continuation of abstraction, the algorithmic restructuring of labor-capital relations, and the obscuring of labor subjectivity and emotions

    Pragmatics as Pragma-sociolinguistics of Discourse

    Get PDF
In construing pragmatics as pragma-sociolinguistics of discourse, a tripartite perspective of pragmatics is brought to the fore: it is a contextual perception of language use; it is a socially underpinned use and interpretation of human communication; and it concerns discourse (language in use). In discourse, language is functional because of the discrete pragma-sociolinguistic elements of communication deployed by language users/participants. Since discourse is indeed, language in use or language in action, a pragmatic study of discourse explains how social context, physical context and linguistic context impinge on “what is said” within and beyond the sentence. Hinging on Adegbija’s (1982) Pragmasociolinguistic Approach, this study concludes that pragmatics is essentially the pragma-sociolinguistics of discourse because: it is a social idea of discourse; it is linguistic action; it is situated/contextualized discourse; it is reference-making; and it is organized discourse

The Influence of Translators' Multiple Identities on the Image Construction of Translated Texts -- Taking Two Translations of Li Qingzhao's Poetry as an Example

    Get PDF
Based on “Translator's Multiple Identities Model” proposed by Zhao Qiurong and Sun Peizhen, translators have multiple social identities, which are divided into primary, secondary and final identities according to the hierarchy. This paper takes two translations of Li Qingzhao’s poetry as examples, one co-translated by American poet Kenneth Rexroth and Chinese scholar Chung Ling, another translated by Manfield Zhu’s translation, to explore how the translator's primary, secondary, and final identities influence translator's behavior and images of translated works, in order to provide new ideas for the research of translator's identity. It is found that the images portrayed by the in-coming translator, Rexroth, have more cultural characteristics of the target language, while the images portrayed by the out-going translator, Manfield Zhu, retain more Chinese cultural characteristics.

Design and Analysis of Non-Contact Power Supply System for Wireless Monitoring Node of Ship's Water Lubricated Bearing

    Get PDF
The wireless sensor monitoring node for the online monitoring of various parameters of the ship's water-lubricated bearing rotates with the shaft during its operation. Therefore, how to ensure a continuous power supply to the node under the rotating working condition is an urgent problem to be solved. In this paper, a non-contact power supply method is adopted to design a magnetically coupled inductive non-contact power supply system, and experimental verification is carried out. Firstly, the non-contact power supply method is described, a node energy consumption model is established for the existing wireless monitoring nodes, and the energy consumption test is conducted. Then, a magnetically coupled inductive non-contact power supply system is designed, and the output of the system circuit is simulated and analyzed. Finally, the experimental test of the power supply system is carried out to study various factors that affect the performance of the power supply system. The research results show that the rotational speed is not the key factor affecting the power supply effect of the system, and the air gap of the coupling mechanism is the key factor affecting the power of the power supply system. The output power of the power supply system increases with the increase of the air gap, and the output efficiency decreases with the increase of the air gap. Considering the influence of the efficiency factor of the power supply system, the 5mm air gap is the optimal working air gap of the power supply system, and the system output power can reach 15.9 W at this time
