Emojis in Online Travel Reviews and Their Impact on Tourists’ Perceived Usefulness: The Case of Douyin (the Chinese version of TikTok)
Online travel reviews have become important information for tourists to choose their travel destinations, and the use of emojis as online expressions has also become a popular phenomenon. Based on the path of perceived usefulness to emojis in online travel reviews, this study explored the difference of impact on the perceived usefulness of reviews through questionnaires on the Douyin platform (the Chinese version of TikTok) and tested the mediating effect of perceived authenticity on them. The results indicate that visual attraction, content presentation, and information interpretation emoticons in comments can affect tourists’ perceived authenticity and usefulness of comments. This study enriches the research on emojis in online travel reviews, providing a reference for tourism companies to manage its reviews, choosing the useful comments, and enabling tourists to reduce information overload and obtain effective reviews faster when reading reviews
Research on the Teaching Model of College English Listening, Speaking, and Reading in the Online Environment Based on Second Language Acquisition Theory
The deep integration of network technology has put forward innovative requirements for college English audio-visual and oral teaching. This study aims to explore a new teaching model guided by second language acquisition theory, in response to the limitations of traditional classrooms in terms of language input quality and interactive opportunities. The study combines classic theories such as Krashen's Input Hypothesis and Sven's Output Hypothesis with the characteristics of the network environment to construct a dynamic teaching framework that integrates "input interaction output". This model ultimately manifests as a series of specific measures, including building a multimodal resource library, designing online tasks centered on meaning negotiation, reforming the evaluation system, and reshaping the role of teachers, in order to effectively promote the overall generation of learners' language abilities in cyberspace
The Effectiveness and Optimization Pathways of Fragmented Learning in University English Vocabulary Acquisition
Against the backdrop of flourishing digital education, fragmented learning has emerged as a significant approach for university students to build English vocabulary. This paper analyzes the characteristics, theoretical foundations, and effectiveness of fragmented learning in university English vocabulary acquisition. Drawing on empirical cases and cognitive science principles, it reveals both the advantages in enhancing vocabulary memorization efficiency and the challenges posed by systemic shortcomings. Further optimization pathways are proposed, including goal-oriented planning, integration of multimodal resources, and gamified incentive mechanisms. These aim to provide college students with scientific and efficient fragmented vocabulary learning solutions, promoting systematic knowledge construction and the formation of long-term memory
Research on the Inheritance and Innovation of Zhanjiang Folk Music under the Background of Cultural and Tourism Integration
Against the backdrop of China's accelerating integration of culture and tourism, the preservation, dissemination, and social embeddedness of Zhanjiang folk music have undergone significant transformations. As a distinctive embodiment of Lingnan culture and maritime traditions, this musical heritage has gained renewed visibility through tourism-driven initiatives. However, challenges such as the erosion of traditional transmission mechanisms, homogenization of musical content, and the loss of cultural depth have become increasingly prominent. Drawing on theories of cultural ecology and culture–tourism integration, this study employs methods including literature review, field investigation, interviews, and case analysis to examine the historical and artistic dimensions of Zhanjiang folk music. It explores the role of folk music in tourism development and investigates pathways for revitalizing traditional music within the dynamics of cultural tourism. The findings indicate that while the expanding cultural tourism sector offers broader platforms for dissemination, the lack of robust preservation and creative renewal mechanisms may lead to the over-theatricalization, symbolic simplification, and commercial dilution of musical traditions. In response, this study proposes strategies such as establishing a multi-stakeholder system for music heritage preservation, promoting digital and cross-sectoral innovation, and strengthening cultural branding to support the sustainable development of Zhanjiang folk music within integrated cultural-tourism contexts. Overall, this research contributes to the academic understanding of regional musical culture and offers a practical reference for the contemporary transformation of intangible cultural heritage
Exploration of the Washback Effect of the CET-4 on English Teaching
The College English Test Band 4 (CET-4), as a widely participated standardized English proficiency test in Chinese universities, exerts a profound and multidimensional influence on college English teaching. This study systematically explores the washback effect of CET-4 on teaching objectives, content, methods, resources, and students' learning strategies. The research finds that CET-4 produces a significant bidirectional washback effect. This study aims to provide theoretical reference and practical pathways for promoting a positive interaction between college English teaching and CET-4, and for deepening the reform of English teaching
Research on Optimization Strategy of Home and School Co-Education Model under the Background of Knowledge Fragmentation
Against the backdrop of digitalization and media convergence, knowledge is becoming increasingly fragmented, structurally impacting collaborative home-school education models and knowledge transfer mechanisms. This study examines how knowledge fragmentation affects communication effectiveness and the scientific systematization of parenting knowledge in home-school collaboration. From a systemic integration perspective, it proposes a multi-tiered optimization strategy: 1) Systematically organizing fragmented knowledge through goal-oriented approaches; 2) Establishing a tripartite screening mechanism comprising theoretical frameworks, knowledge integration platforms, and serialized micro-courses; 3) Achieving deep knowledge integration via thematic video resource development, scientific cognitive guidance, and contextualized discussions. The paper emphasizes that while leveraging fragmented knowledge, systematic learning guidance should be strengthened to advance home-school collaboration from information coordination to intelligent symbiosis
Research on Innovative Pathways for Zhanjiang’s Intangible Cultural Heritage “Short Video + Cultural Tourism” Discourse System in the Context of Rural Revitalization
Revitalizing rural culture creates a chance for revitalizing intangible cultural heritage. Zhanjiang has many intangible cultural heritage resources, but the way they are disseminated has been affected by outdated models that are disconnected from today's audience. This study aims to explore the ways in which new discourse systems for Zhanjiang's intangible cultural heritage can be developed in light of the integration of short videos and cultural tourism. It has been found that overcoming the challenges presented by the current limitations of single narrative and superficial content will require systematic innovation related to subject cultivation, narrative development, and the communication loop. This innovation will enable the conversion of intangible cultural heritage's cultural value into an engine for rural development, resulting in a sustainable "see experience identify" development model
Exploration of Ideological and Political Construction in the Course "Musculoskeletal Disease Rehabilitation" for Vocational Rehabilitation Therapy Technology Majors Under the "New Double High-Level" Background
Ideological and political education within the curriculum (Curriculum Ideology and Politics) is a vital approach to fulfilling the fundamental task of "fostering virtue through education" and remains a focal point in current vocational education reforms. Under the background of the "New Double High-Level Plan" construction, there is an urgent need to promote the deep integration of professional courses with ideological and political education for Rehabilitation Therapy Technology majors. As a core course in this major, Musculoskeletal Disease Rehabilitation possesses strong professional and humanistic characteristics, making it an effective carrier for such integration. Based on this course, this paper aims to shape students' "medical benevolence," temper their "craftsmanship spirit," and enhance their comprehensive literacy. It explores a teaching path that unifies professional instruction with value guidance, aiming to cultivate high-quality rehabilitation therapy professionals who possess both moral integrity and technical skills
The Reconstruction of Social Order in Drug-stricken Communities
Society is like a large, fast-spinning wheel. When the center rotates rapidly, it spreads social sediments to the edges and leads residents in outlying areas to become victims of social transformation. Originally an urban phenomenon, drug problems emerged in and struck some vulnerable rural regions after that. To research how these communities reconstructed the social order, I did my field work in the City of M for 13 years. Analyzing the complicated social ecology of this area, this paper applies the theory of community proposed by Christie W. Kiefer to discuss the contribution of grassroots organizations and elites to the reconstruction of the social order. Taking C village as a successful example, I argue that the communities I studied also encounter some challenges: community fragmentation, the erosion of traditional authority, and the fragility of rural livelihoods. These difficulties show that the communities must coordinate and cooperate on a large scale with the broader society. With support from society as a whole and from every level of the social hierarchy, these communities can be extricated from their drug-afflicted situation and achieve order reconstruction
Climate Change Policy Agenda Setting in the Five Central Asian Countries: A Multiple Streams Framework Analysis
Applying the Multiple Streams Framework to climate policy agenda-setting in the five Central Asian countries has strong explanatory power. The study finds that, under their political systems, the problem, policy, and politics streams do not operate independently; rather, the politics stream is dominant. Accordingly, this study offers an appropriate refinement of MSF and proposes a politics-stream-dominant coupling model. In this model, the politics stream comprises the ruling party’s executive will and governing philosophy, the catalytic influence of public sentiment, and the actions of interest groups. The problem stream encompasses climate-change-induced natural disasters and feedback from international climate conferences. The policy stream includes national climate-change plans, policy recommendations from experts and scholars, and lessons from relevant international organizations and other countries’ climate policies. However, within this model, the problem and policy streams must first be recognized, vetted, and absorbed by the politics stream before the policy window for climate-change agenda-setting opens, which gives the process a distinctly top-down character. Moreover, differences in political institutions, economic structures, and resource endowments yield unique interaction patterns among the three streams across country contexts. Looking ahead, agenda-setting for climate policy in these five countries will continue to face the challenge of uneven development among the streams; sustained deepening of their coupling is required to keep the policy window open. This study provides a theoretical touchstone and a practical reference for China and other developing countries as they pursue climate diplomacy
