Teacher Questions in EFL Classroom: A Study between More and Less Developed Regions
Teacher questions are important indicators to reflect English teachers’ teaching ability. This study took 28 English teachers as corpora to explore the characteristics of teacher questions in EFL classroom between more and less developed regions. Combining the models of interactive choices of EFL (English as a foreign language) teacher questions (Yang, 2021) and the revision of Bloom’s taxonomy (Anderson et al., 2001), this study investigated the interactivity degrees and cognitive levels of teacher questions. Firstly, it was found that there was no significant difference in the interactivity degrees of teacher questions in EFL classroom between more and less developed regions. Secondly, teachers in less developed regions asked remembering questions more frequently than those in more developed regions while the latter asked applying questions more frequently than the former. From the perspective of sociocultural theory, it was found that teachers in more developed regions focused more on students’ intra-mental interaction, while teachers in less developed regions focused more on students’ inter-mental interaction
Research on the Cross-land Zhongwan River Bridge Plan of Haicang Road, Hangzhou Bay New District, Ningbo
Through the analysis of the current status of the bridge around the proposed project, it can be seen that there are many forms of surrounding bridges, which also forms a certain sense of rhythm, enriching the architectural form of the water network system. Therefore, in this plan design, the bridge plan should continue the rhythm of the bridge combination, forming a combination layout with high and low, sparse and dense; finally avoid similarity with the built bridge and has landscape characteristics; Plan 1 takes the "shell" of marine culture as the design element, which looks like an open shell, with a unique shape, the bridge sidewalk is widened, the arc shape is perfectly coordinated with the open shell outline and pattern, and the high and low arch ribs give people a visual spatial effect of moderate opening and closing, highlighting the opening and closing of open space, The spirit of relaxation and progress, while listening to the wind and watching the scenery on the bridge, feel the unique charm of the bridge shape; Plan 2 takes the "fishing net" of marine culture as the design element, and the layout of the arch bridge boom adopts a grid-shaped Nelson system, which is perfectly combined with the "fishing net" of marine culture, like the scene of a harvest in the countryside of fish and rice, symbolizing the spirit of rich construction and pioneering, and the precipitation of local feelings. A plan comparison and research is conducted on the cross-land Zhongwan River Bridge of Haicang Road, Hangzhou Bay New District, Ningbo, and selects a suitable bridge shape
"Iceberg Theory" Perspective on the Study of Construction of the Discipline Inspection and Supervision Team in Higher Education Institutions
"The construction of a powerful educational nation takes higher education institutions as its important front, with higher education as the leader." In the new era, China is steadily advancing towards the strategic goal of building a powerful educational nation, with higher education entering a period of widespread global recognition. On this new journey, discipline inspection and supervision must earnestly shoulder the important responsibility of maintaining the Party's discipline within the education system, ensuring the construction of a powerful educational nation through high-quality supervision work in higher education institutions. This article, from the perspective of the "Iceberg Theory," analyzes what is visible on the "iceberg" - the work of supervision in higher education institutions - to clarify the construction strategy of the less known "what the team of discipline inspection and supervision cadres in higher education institutions should be" beneath the "iceberg." It looks at education from a broader perspective, integrates supervision into education, and proposes targeted countermeasures and suggestions. Finally, by presenting "what the team of discipline inspection and supervision cadres in higher education institutions should be" beneath the "iceberg," it continuously promotes the high-level development of discipline inspection and supervision work in higher education institutions in the new journey and the new era, resolutely safeguarding the position of cultivating successors
A Multimodal Study on Language Impairments in Chinese-Speaking Alzheimer’s Disease Patients from the Perspective of Relevance Theory
With the intensification of global population aging, Alzheimer’s disease (AD) has emerged as a significant public health issue among the elderly populations, with language impairment being one of its primary manifestations. This study, grounded in Relevance Theory, selects situated discourse from five elderly individuals in the early stages of AD featured in the reality show “Forget Me Not Cafe” as corpus material. Utilizing a multimodal corpus research method, it analyzes the manifestations of language impairment in these patients, aiming to comprehensively unveil their specific characteristics at both verbal and non-verbal levels. The findings reveal that affected elderly individuals exhibit five verbal manifestations, including redundant repetition, the use of filler words, naming difficulty, aborted phrases, and vague references. Meanwhile, they also employ non-verbal means such as gestures and laughter to make multimodal compensatory adjustments in communication. Furthermore, this study highlights the differences in the manifestations of language impairment between Chinese and English-speaking AD patients. English-speaking patients are more prone to issues like pronoun misuse, tense and voice errors, whereas Chinese-speaking patients predominantly exhibit tone confusion. This research not only holds significant importance for the academic development of gerontolinguistics but also possesses practical clinical application value and notable social benefits
Visualization Analysis of Research Hotspots and Trends of Teacher Emotional Intelligence by Citespace—Based on the Web of Science Core Collection (2014–2024)
This research employs CiteSpace 6.4 to analyze teacher emotional intelligence (TEI) trends in SSCI journals from 2014-2024. Bibliometric analysis reveals TEI publications experienced slow initial growth followed by fluctuating increases. Three dominant themes emerged: (1) validation of emotional intelligence measurement scales, (2) examination of TEI’s relationship with teacher burnout and instructional effectiveness, and (3) development of theoretical models. Comparative analysis shows international studies emphasize TEI’s role in technology integration and emotional regulation’s impact on teaching outcomes, while domestic research primarily focuses on professional development and classroom management. The field has evolved from broad conceptual explorations to context-specific investigations, particularly regarding workplace factors and teaching environments. However, domestic research exhibits slower progress in adopting technological perspectives compared to international scholarship. The findings suggest future studies should: (1) strengthen interdisciplinary approaches combining psychology and education technology, (2) investigate individual differences in TEI development, and (3) explore TEI’s applications in digital learning environments. This systematic review provides valuable insights for researchers and policymakers seeking to enhance teacher development programs through emotional intelligence frameworks
