Outstanding Beauty: Study of Publicity Translation and Cultural Diplomatic Value in the Internationalization of Domestic Cosmetic Brands

    Get PDF
This study delves into the translation strategies employed in the export process of Chinese-style cosmetics, with a primary focus on how these strategies facilitate cultural communication. Emphasis is placed on ensuring accurate and culturally adaptive translation of product packaging, which plays a pivotal role in establishing and maintaining brand cultural identity in international markets. In particular, the proposal of naming lipstick shades after literary works—linking both Chinese and Western literary traditions—demonstrates a novel approach to fostering cross-cultural exchange through product exports. Additionally, marketing strategies are explored, showcasing how this differentiation not only enhances cultural relevance but also strengthens consumer emotional connections. Case studies of TIMAGE and Proya serve to evaluate brand performance in cross-cultural communication, offering valuable insights for the international promotion of Chinese-style cosmetics. The findings of this study suggest innovative directions for combining translation and marketing strategies to further cultural exchange and brand growth globally

The Influence of Harsh Parenting on Adolescent Anxiety: The Sequential Mediating Roles of Interpersonal Sensitivity and Ego-Depletion

    Get PDF
Harsh parenting, characterized by punitive and controlling behaviors, has been increasingly linked to the development of anxiety disorders in adolescents. This study explores the mechanisms through which harsh parenting contributes to adolescent anxiety, focusing on the sequential mediation of Interpersonal Sensitivity (IS) and ego depletion. Drawing on the Emotion Dysregulation Model of Anxiety (EDMA), we propose that harsh parenting disrupts emotional regulation by fostering heightened IS, which, in turn, depletes self-control resources, exacerbating anxiety. Using a chain mediation model, we hypothesize that (1) harsh parenting positively correlates with adolescent IS, (2) ego depletion mediates the relationship between harsh parenting and anxiety, and (3) IS and ego depletion sequentially mediate this relationship. By examining these interconnected pathways, the study aims to provide insights into the underlying processes contributing to adolescent anxiety and offer valuable directions for early interventions aimed at improving mental health outcomes in adolescents

The Perceived Impact of University Sport Engagement on Staff and First-year Undergraduate Students: An Exploratory Study

    Get PDF
This research investigated the perceived impacts of university sports engagement on first-year undergraduate students from both student and staff perspectives, employing a mixed-methods approach of qualitative interviews and quantitative surveys. It examined how sports participation affects academic performance, time management, social interactions, and emotional development. Findings revealed conflicting views on time management; students in general saw sports as motivational, while staff identified potential distractions for scholarship athletes. Staff expressed concerns about recreational athletes, but students reported increased confidence and academic engagement from sports. Notably, sports positively influenced social interactions and emotional well-being, fostering a sense of belonging. The study underscores the need for enhanced support systems, including tailored advising and flexible scheduling, to help students balance commitments. It highlights the importance of community in first-year adjustments and calls for ongoing improvements in support structures and academic policies. A recommendation made was that future research should focus on the long-term impacts of sports on academic and career outcomes to inform higher education policy development

Research on the Current Situation and Countermeasures of Chinese Traditional Culture Aphasia in College English Teaching

    Get PDF
Cultural education has long been a focal topic in foreign language teaching. While it is widely acknowledged that foreign language teaching should encompass both linguistic and cultural instruction, current practices in Chinese college English education reveal a significant imbalance. This study examines the phenomenon of “Chinese traditional culture aphasia”—the inability of students to articulate Chinese cultural elements in English—within college English programs at local universities in Shandong Province. By analyzing curriculum design, teaching materials, and pedagogical approaches, the paper highlights the overemphasis on Western cultural content and the neglect of Chinese cultural integration. It further proposes actionable strategies to address this imbalance, aiming to enhance students’ cross-cultural communication competence and promote the global dissemination of Chinese culture

The Triad of “Othering”: A Postcolonial Analysis of To Kill a Mockingbird

    Get PDF
To Kill a Mockingbird exposes the operational logic of systemic oppression within 1930s Southern US society through the judicial injustice suffered by the Black man, Tom Robinson. Utilizing the “Othering” theory from postcolonial studies as its core framework, this paper systematically analyzes the mechanisms of exclusion and their interactions across the triple dimensions of gender, class, and race depicted in the novel. Gender “Othering” manifests in Mayella Ewell’s patriarchal discipline and Scout’s identity anxiety, revealing the marginalization of women within the courtroom space. Class “Othering” is demonstrated through the “white trash” stigma attached to the Ewell family and the economic exclusion faced by the Cunninghams, showcasing the symbolic expulsion of impoverished groups. Racial “Othering” is embodied in the judicial system’s presumption of Tom Robinson’s guilt, exposing the structural violence of white supremacy. The analysis demonstrates how these three dimensions reinforce the social hierarchy through intersecting oppressions, confirming the fundamental nature of power: maintaining hegemony by constructing a “Self-Other” binary. This examination not only deepens the deconstruction of the novel’s power mechanisms but also provides historical reference points for contemporary struggles within identity politics

How does China’s Belt and Road Initiative outperform EU’s Global Gateway Strategy

    Get PDF
The paper compares the European Union’s Global Gateway strategy with China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), analyzing their strategic goals, implementation models, and outcomes. It highlights the EU’s focus on geopolitical balance, competitiveness, and value-driven diplomacy, aiming to counter China’s growing global influence while promoting democratic values. However, the paper argues that the EU’s approach is hindered by internal divisions, insufficient resources, and mismatched priorities with developing countries. In contrast, China’s BRI demonstrates greater stability, inclusivity, and sustainability. The BRI’s cooperative framework, centered on mutual benefits, has led to more significant infrastructural and economic development in partner nations. By prioritizing local needs and fostering long-term collaboration, the BRI surpasses the EU’s Global Gateway in terms of tangible impact, highlighting the limitations of a values-driven, top-down approach. This paper concludes that while both initiatives seek to reshape global infrastructure, China’s BRI is more effective in addressing the challenges of the Global South

Qualitative Research on Double Fraud of Guaranteed Loans

    Get PDF
This article focuses on the dispute over the nature of double fraud in criminal law in cases of obtaining loans by defrauding true guarantees, systematically combs the differences between the theoretical and practical circles on the form of the number of crimes and the determination of charges, and reveals that the core of legal interest infringement in such cases is the damage to the property rights and interests of the guarantor rather than the loan losses of financial institutions. By demonstrating the key points that the establishment of the security right causes the property risk of the guarantor immediately and the bank does not suffer losses in the sense of criminal law due to the validity of the guarantee, the analysis path of combining subjective and objective analysis is put forward: When the actor has the purpose of illegal possession, although double fraud between the bank and the guarantor is involved in form, the credit risk of the bank is dispersed in advance due to the guarantee system, and the property rights and interests of the guarantor are actually infringed upon, the crime of contract fraud shall be dealt with separately; For acts lacking the purpose of illegal possession, as financial institutions are not substantially damaged and the risks fall within the normal commercial scope, criminal law regulations should be excluded. The study emphasizes that the evaluation of criminal law should be based on the nature of infringement of legal interests at the time of act, so as to avoid confusion between the determination of charges and the results of civil liquidation
