Beyond the Visible: The Predictive Power of Parents’Perceptions of the Neighborhood’s Impact on Children’s Social-Emotional Development
The neighborhood is a fundamental context for the socialization and development of preschool-aged children. The perceptions of parents with young children about the neighborhood, may serve as important predictive mechanisms through which the effects of the neighborhood’s socioeconomic environment on children’s social-emotional development are captured.Within the framework of ecosystem theory (Bronfenbrenner, 1979), this study investigated the role of sociodemographic factors and parents’ perceived perceptions of their neighborhood on children’s social-emotional development in a sample of 736 parents with children aged 2-6 years. The research tool, entitled “Survey of perceptions of parents with preschool children about the role of the neighborhood and its relationship to children’s social-emotional development”, was composed of the PKBS-2 (Merrell, 2002), NCQ (Barnes, 1997) and PNSP (Weir et al., 2006).The analysis of the survey findings revealed that neighborhood participation and sense of belonging are positively related to children’s social skills, while perceived insecurity, local pathogenicity and personal experiences of conflict are associated with increased behavioral problems in children.Overall, the findings highlight the importance of perceived parental perceptions of the neighborhood as predictors and mediators of social-emotional development in preschool children, highlighting critical implications for prevention policies and interventions at the local community level
Financial Shared Service Center Construction in Retail Enterprises under Digital Transformation
Against the backdrop of the rapid development of the digital economy, retail enterprises are facing increasingly fierce market competition. To achieve high-quality development, retail enterprises must undergo digital transformation, and the construction of a financial shared service center (FSSC) has become a crucial initiative to drive this transformation. This paper analyzes the practical significance of constructing an FSSC in retail enterprises, explores the existing issues during the construction process, and proposes optimization strategies
Exploring the Impact of AI Enhanced Feedback on EFL Learners’ Motivation and Engagement
This study investigates how AI-enhanced feedback influences the motivation and engagement of English as a Foreign Language (EFL) learners in Guangzhou, China. Grounded in Self-Determination Theory (SDT) and the multidimensional framework of engagement, the study conceptualizes AI feedback as encompassing autonomy, competence, and relatedness, based on data collected from 286 undergraduates aged 17-23 across four academic levels with varying English proficiency. Data were analyzed using SPSS for descriptive statistics, reliability checks, exploratory factor analysis (EFA), and correlation testing, and AMOS for confirmatory factor analysis (CFA), structural equation modeling (SEM), and mediation analysis. The results showed that AI-enhanced feedback significantly strengthened both intrinsic and extrinsic motivation, with intrinsic motivation serving as a stronger predictor of behavioral, cognitive, and emotional engagement. Motivation, acting as a partial mediator between AI feedback and engagement, suggests that well-designed feedback systems can foster learner involvement by enhancing the motivational quality of feedback. Theoretically, these findings extend SDT’s explanatory power in technology-mediated learning. At the same time, in practice, they offer insights for educators, system designers, and policymakers seeking to promote sustainable engagement and personalized feedback in AI-supported EFL contexts
A Brief Analysis of the Dual Readings of Split-Syllable Verbs in the Linxian Dialect of Shanxi
A distinctive phenomenon in the Linxian dialect (Shanxi) involves certain monosyllabic verbs exhibiting dual readings: a split-syllable form and a monosyllabic form, each associated with distinct meanings. Focusing on verbs such as 滚 (gǔn, roll) and 摆 (bǎi, sway), this study employs traditional philology and textual exegesis to trace the historical emergence of these divergent meanings. The analysis reveals that meanings linked to the split-syllable forms—often characterized by iterativity, descriptiveness, or aspectual nuances—consistently emerged later in historical records than the basic meanings associated with the monosyllabic forms. Consequently, this paper argues that the split-syllable phenomenon in the Linxian dialect is not a retention of complex consonant clusters from Old Chinese. Instead, it likely arose from semantic differentiation driven by prosodic constraints and expressive modality. This case study offers a new perspective for re-examining the origins of split-syllable words and the debate surrounding Old Chinese phonology
An Analysis of the Mechanism and Optimization Strategies of the Impact of College Students’ Social Media Experience on Subjective Well-being
The current academic research on the correlation between social media and subjective well-being exhibits two notable features: On one hand, a large number of empirical studies focus on the impact of usage frequency and problematic usage behaviors on users’ psychology; on the other hand, there is still a significant lack of research on the association mechanism between different usage patterns of social media (such as active sharing and passive browsing) and subjective well-being, and the existing conclusions are highly divergent. Based on this research gap, our research team has constructed a multi-dimensional analysis framework to systematically examine the differentiated impacts of different social media usage behavior patterns on users’ subjective well-being and their internal mechanisms
Design Of Voice Control System For Smart Home
This paper introduces a smart home system utilizing the STM32 microcontroller as the core control board. The system integrates voice recognition and text-to-speech modules with photoelectric and temperature-humidity sensors to monitor environmental parameters. When specific conditions are detected, the system converts the user’s voice commands into corresponding actions, enabling peripheral device operations. This achieves precise temperature/humidity monitoring and light detection through voice recognition, allowing users to activate daily appliances like lighting, air conditioning, and curtains. With high recognition accuracy, stable performance, and accurate data collection, the system significantly enhances daily living quality. Its broad applicability makes it the ideal choice for realizing smart home solutions
An Analysis of English Translation Strategies for Internet Buzzwords Based on Skopos Theory
With the rise and widespread use of social media, Internet buzzwords have evolved into a linguistic phenomenon that strongly reflects the characteristics of the current era. Amid the deep integration of China’s mainstream social platforms into the global digital ecosystem, effectively translating Internet buzzwords has become increasingly important. This paper first identifies the problems and challenges associated with translating Internet buzzwords into English. Then, using Skopos Theory as the core theoretical framework, this study conducts an in-depth exploration of the applicability and effectiveness of various translation strategies—including literal translation, free translation, literal translation with annotations, and transliteration with annotations—based on an analysis of the characteristics of Internet buzzwords and specific case studies
Jean-Jacques Rousseau’s Natural Education Thought and Its Enlightenment to China’s Ideological and Political Education
Rousseau’s naturalistic educational thought takes cultivating natural persons as its educational goal, adheres to educational principles such as the law of nature, the principle of utility, and the law of freedom, and selects different educational contents and methods based on the laws of physical and mental development and phased characteristics of children at different age stages. This thought not only provides guidance for cultivating natural persons but also offers profound enlightenment for the practice of modern ideological and political education. When analyzing Rousseau's natural education thought, rational reference and critical inheritance will help promote the further development of the theory of ideological and political education in China
Research on the Integration of Traditional Music Culture into Ideological and Political Education in Universities under the "Internet+" Context
Modern higher education grapples with the dual role of inheriting traditional culture and building innovative talent. The introduction of the "Internet+" environment has created space for integrating traditional music culture into ideological and political education. Digital technology allows teaching content presentation to be reconstructed, and classic works in ethnic folk music can become effective carriers of national spirit. Ideological and political education in higher education must be liberated from the spatiotemporal constraints of traditional classrooms, constructing immersive scenarios for learning through new media channels. The aesthetic experience of traditional art form and the value guidance of ideological and political education share an inherent compatibility, as they provide both an opportunity to preserve cultural heritage as well as enrich methods of education. Educators need to be aware of trends surrounding technological transformation and finding innovative ways to reposition traditional cultural resources into educational materials for moral education
