Globalization and Language Education Reforms: Enlightenment from the Comparison between Developed and Developing Countries Introduction
Globalization has significantly reshaped national language education policies, with countries increasingly viewing multilingual competence as a critical component of economic competitiveness and cultural diplomacy. This paper presents a comparative analysis of language education reforms in selected developed countries (Australia, the United States, and Finland) and developing countries (China, Thailand, and Nigeria) within the context of globalization. Drawing on Spolsky’s (2004) language policy framework, this study examines how language ideologies, practices, and management strategies are reflected in national policy reforms. Findings reveal that developed countries tend to adopt pluralistic and strategically oriented language policies aligned with economic and geopolitical interests, while developing countries often exhibit centralized, exam-driven, and English-dominant approaches, sometimes at the expense of linguistic diversity and equity. The paper concludes by proposing context-sensitive, inclusive, and sustainable language education policies for developing countries, emphasizing multilingualism, teacher capacity, and long-term strategic planning

A Study on the Influencing Factors of Football Learning Interest in Teaching Public Physical Education in Colleges and Universities
Influenced by the general background of campus football, the development of campus football in China is also gradually entering into a rapid development stage. According to the national monitoring data of college students’ physical health, the physical health of college students in China shows a declining trend. Based on the background of China’s vigorous development of school football, the improvement of college students’ physical health problems has encountered an unprecedented opportunity for development. The improvement of college students’ physical fitness cannot be separated from daily physical exercise, and the promotion of learning interest is the basic motivation for students to carry out physical exercise. This paper analyses the influencing factors of football learning interest in teaching public physical education in colleges and puts forward several suggestions in order to enhance the enthusiasm of college students in physical exercise
GAI-Enabled Primary School Ideological and Political Education: Prospects, Risks, and Pathways
Generative Artificial Intelligence (GAI) is reshaping ideological and political education in primary schools by enabling dialogic inquiry, multimodal interaction, immersive simulation, and narrative assessment. While these capabilities support the construction of technology-enhanced moral learning models, they also introduce risks such as algorithmic bias, teacher role marginalization, experiential simplification, and emotional reductionism in evaluation. Grounded in theories of cognitive development and moral education, this study proposes a four-dimensional framework to mitigate these risks: (1) developing value-aligned adaptive models, (2) fostering human-machine teaching symbiosis, (3) designing integrated virtual-real learning contexts, and (4) implementing evidence-based growth narratives. The research offers both theoretical and practical pathways for leveraging GAI to enhance the quality and integrity of moral education in the digital age
How Artificial Intelligence Empowers Regional Low-Carbon Transformation—From the Dual Perspectives of “Carbon Reduction” and “Efficiency Enhancement”
Artificial intelligence is a strategic technology driving the new round of technological revolution and industrial transformation, providing significant impetus for China's high-quality development. This paper employs a two-way fixed effects model and a mediation effect model to empirically analyze AI's impact on regional low-carbon transformation using provincial-level data from China between 2013 and 2022. The findings reveal that AI effectively curbs total carbon emissions while simultaneously boosting green total factor productivity. This conclusion remains robust across a series of stability tests. AI facilitates regional low-carbon transformation by enhancing energy efficiency, accelerating green technological innovation, and accelerating industrial upgrading. The study's conclusions offer significant policy implications for further advancing AI development, leveraging its role in regional emission reduction and efficiency gains, and accelerating high-quality economic development
Comparing the Impact of Center-based and Home-based Cardiac Rehabilitation on Outcomes in Patients with Coronary Heart Disease: A Meta-analysis of Randomized Controlled Trials
ObjectiveHome-based cardiac rehabilitation and hospital-based cardiac rehabilitation have had different results in improving quality of life, negative psychology, and blood lipids. The objective of this study was to systematically compare the effectiveness of home-based and hospital-based cardiac rehabilitation in patients with coronary artery disease.MethodsRCTs related to application of home-based and center-based cardiac rehabilitation in patients with coronary heart disease were searched in multiple e-databases in English and Chinese from January 2000 to March 2025. Two researchers independently screened the articles and extracted the data. Cochrane5.1.0 manual was used to evaluate the quality of the included articles, and RevMan5.4 software was used for Meta analysis.ResultsA total of 1808 patients were included in 14 articles. Meta-analysis showed that cardiac rehabilitation at home and in hospital improved peak oxygen uptake [MD = 0.30, 95% CI (-0.37, 0.97), P=0.38] and systolic blood pressure [MD=1.10, 95% CI (-1.01, 3.21), P=0.31], diastolic blood pressure [MD=0.94, 95% CI(-1.74, 3.62), P=0.49], triglyceride [MD=-0.03,95%CI(-0.15,0.10), P=0.65],fasting glucose [MD=0.15, 95%CI (-0.17,0.47), P=0.35], quality of life and psychological status(P>0.05), BMI (P>0.05). Total cholesterol in the hospital-based rehabilitation group was better than that in the home-based rehabilitation group [MD=0.11, 95% CI (0.01,0.21), P=0.03], however the results were not stable.ConclusionsCompared to hospital-based cardiac rehabilitation, home-based cardiac rehabilitation also improves the risk factors in patients with coronary artery disease. However, whether hospital-based cardiac rehabilitation is better than home-based cardiac rehabilitation for total cholesterol needs further validation. No Patient or Public Contribution
Identifying Major Influencing Factors of CO2 Emissions in Chengdu: Date Analysis Based on Extended STIRPAT Model from 2005 to 2022
With the global economy's continuous development, the issue of carbon emissions has become the focus of international attention. As one of the most important cities in western China, it is of positive significance to study the factors influencing carbon emission in Chengdu to realize the construction of a low-carbon city. Most studies believe that population size, urbanization level, energy structure, industrial structure, and other factors impact carbon emissions. But in reality, more factors affect carbon emissions. Taking Chengdu as an example, based on traditional factors such as population and economy, this paper puts forward new influencing factors such as building construction area, number of buses, length of subway lines, green area of parks, and green coverage rate of built-up areas, and verifies their correlation with carbon emission intensity in Chengdu. It is found that these factors also have a certain correlation with carbon emissions in Chengdu. Then, the paper constructs the STIRPAT model of carbon emission. Through the multicollinearity test and ridge regression analysis, the contribution of each influencing factor to the carbon emission intensity in Chengdu was obtained. Finally, this paper puts forward the strategy of low-carbon construction in Chengdu. Hope to provide a reference for relevant departments
An Existentialist Enactment of Revenge in The Cask of Amontillado
Edgar Allan Poe’s renowned short story The Cask of Amontillado centers on the cold and calculated revenge enacted by Montresor, revealing profound existential motivations underlying his actions. This paper employs Jean-Paul Sartre’s existentialist philosophy as a theoretical lens, focusing on Montresor’s active construction of his existential essence, his resistance against the gaze of the Other, and his assumption of absolute responsibility throughout the process of vengeance. On the one hand, within the existential arena of the underground catacomb, Montresor autonomously forges and confirms his identity as an avenger through meticulously rational actions. On the other hand, the enclosed, antagonistic binary relationship between Montresor and his victim, Fortunato, vividly embodies Sartre’s dictum that “hell is other people”. Ultimately, while Montresor evades legal retribution, he cannot escape the “absolute responsibility” articulated by Sartre, becoming eternally imprisoned by the weight of his avenger identity and perpetual anxiety. Poe’s narrative ambiguity deliberately strips away traditional attributions, rendering Montresor’s revenge an existential practice in the Sartrean sense: an individual’s free choice within an absurd world, demanding the full bearing of its consequences
A Study on Topic Selection and Actualization in English Majors’ BA Thesis Based on Self-efficacy Theory
By employing the self-efficacy theory, this study examines the relationship between the degree of self-efficacy in BA thesis composition and English majors’ reasons for and problems in topic selection and actualization. The results suggest that students with different degree of self-efficacy in BA thesis composition tend to have different reasons to select certain topic for a BA thesis as well as different problems during the topic selection and actualization process. Students with higher self-efficacy tend to be more active and positive during the process of topic selection and actualization. Pedagogical implications are given to improve the efficiency of academic writing courses and to help teachers and supervisors to better understand students so as to enhance English majors self-efficacy in BA thesis composition as well as better help the students to choose and actualize the topics for their BA theses with more ease
