Understanding the Gender Gap in Iran's Industrial Workforce: Barriers to Women's Participation
This review investigates the persistent gender gap in Iran’s industrial workforce, analyzing how socio-cultural norms, legal frameworks, and economic policies collectively restrict women’s participation. Drawing on Iranian and international scholarship from the past decade, the study highlights three interconnected dimensions. First, patriarchal values and discriminatory laws—such as spousal consent requirements and occupational stereotypes—systematically exclude women from male-dominated industrial sectors like manufacturing and energy, despite their growing presence in STEM education (Zahedi et al., 2022). Second, economic policies, including privatization, sanctions, and subsidy programs, exacerbate gender disparities by prioritizing cost-cutting measures that displace women into informal, low-wage labor (Salehi-Isfahani, 2020) and reinforcing male-dominated industries (Moghadam, 2019). Third, these barriers undermine Iran’s economic development by stifling innovation and GDP growth (World Bank, 2020) while deepening social inequalities through income disparities and limited women’s agency (Rostami-Povey, 2021). The review underscores the urgency of legal reforms, inclusive economic strategies, and investments in women’s technical training to address systemic inequities. By aligning policies with global commitments like the UN SDGs (UNDP, 2021), Iran can harness women’s potential to drive sustainable development and social progress.
Research on the Path and Significance of the Normal University in Art Healing Fusion Courses
Art Healing is widely used in the setting and practice of mental health education in universities. It often expands the applicable fields, material resources and practical cases of Art Healing through the integration with aesthetic education courses and traditional cultural courses. The material that Art Heals relies on - Chinese traditional art not only contains rich cultural spirit, but also involves a wide range of fields, which can be integrated into all aspects of Art Healing. Normal University carries the important task of cultivating a team of quasi-teachers, attaches more importance to students' mental health education, is committed to improving the level of normal students' emotional management ability, psychological adjustment ability and humanistic literacy, and strives to cultivate a healthier team of teachers for the basic education field. Therefore, it is necessary to seriously consider the path and significance of the Art Healing integration course offered by Normal University, and thus explore how to further improve the theoretical system and practical model of Art Healing
An Exploration of Post-Reading Continuation Writing Strategies from the Perspective of Cognitive Linguistics
This study explores post-reading continuation writing from the perspective of cognitive linguistics, emphasizing the close interplay between language and cognition. Grounded in key concepts such as cognitive schemas, conceptual integration, and frame semantics, the research highlights how activating learners’ existing cognitive structures can enhance their ability to comprehend texts and creatively extend narratives. Given that continuation writing demands not only accurate understanding but also imaginative and coherent expression, traditional teaching methods often fall short by focusing on surface imitation without fostering deeper cognitive engagement. This paper addresses these challenges by proposing strategies that align with cognitive linguistic principles to stimulate students’ autonomous creativity and improve writing coherence. The findings offer valuable theoretical insights and practical guidance for language educators, contributing to more effective integration of reading and writing instruction and advancing the overall development of learners’ language proficiency
A Multimodal Stylistic Analysis of the English Poster: Dune
Movie poster is an integration of multimodal meaning containing verbal mode, image, font, layout and color. Compared with monomodal text, the interaction between multiple modes can more efficiently convey the information of a film to the audience, attracting the audience’s attention. In the paper, the English poster of the film Dune is selected as the object of study. Based on Halliday’s Systemic Functional Grammar (SFG) and Kress and Leeuwen’s Visual Grammar (VG), as well as with reference to the multimodal stylistic analysis path of Lei Qian and Zhang Delu, this paper explores foregrounding features’ significance of multiple modes in a poster and their intermodal relationships for the overall construction of multimodal text. The results show that there is a synergistic relationship between different modes, and that the foregrounding features of font, layout, image and color contribute to the poster’s meaning construction
English-Chinese Translation of Scientific and Technological Texts from the Perspective of Text Typology
Based on the linguistic function model proposed by linguist Karl Bühler, Katharina Reiss classified texts into three types, namely informative texts, expressive texts, and operative texts. Under the guidance of text typology, the linguistic features of English scientific and technological texts are analyzed and summarized in this paper. Then, the translation skills and methods suitable for English-Chinese translation of scientific and technological texts are explored with some specific examples. It is hoped that this paper can provide some references for the translation of scientific and technological texts, thereby effectively improving the quality of translations
China’s Green and Low-Carbon Development and the Sustainable Growth of the Oxygen Concentrator Market: Policy Evolution, Theoretical Framework, and Innovative Pathways
This study examines China's green low-carbon policies and their role in advancing the sustainable development of the oxygen concentrator market. By analyzing 17 policy documents from 2016 to 2024 through textual deconstruction and theoretical framework development, we investigate the evolutionary mechanisms of policy design and market transformation pathways. The results indicate that China's green low-carbon policies, through innovation incentives, industry standardization, and fiscal constraints, have effectively redirected the oxygen concentrator market toward energy-efficient technologies, substantially reducing energy consumption and carbon emissions. A synergistic technology-market-policy dynamic cycle has emerged from the interplay of market factor flows and multidimensional policy interventions, accelerating the integration of green design innovations and driving industrial modernization. From urban-rural integration and regional equilibrium perspectives, we advocate for strengthening green infrastructure systems, optimizing factor mobility mechanisms, and enhancing cross-sectoral policy coherence. These strategies address critical challenges such as regional development gaps and low technology diffusion efficiency, ultimately fostering deeper alignment between the oxygen concentrator market and national carbon neutrality goals. This research offers theoretical and practical contributions to implementing China's distinctive low-carbon strategies in specialized industrial sectors
Strengthening Local Governance in Bangladesh: A Critical Analysis of Challenges, Opportunities, and Policy Interventions
Local governance is central to democratic development, ensuring participatory, transparent, and accountable decision-making while fostering inclusive service delivery. This study critically examines the Union Parishad system in Bangladesh, focusing on its effectiveness in promoting equitable governance, particularly for marginalized groups and women. Using a mixed-methods approach—incorporating key informant interviews, focus group discussions, and desk reviews—the research explores policy frameworks, systemic challenges, and opportunities for strengthening local governance.Findings reveal that bureaucratic inefficiencies, financial dependency, political interference, and socio-cultural barriers significantly hinder governance effectiveness. While Union Parishads play a pivotal role in local service delivery and development planning, their impact remains constrained by weak institutional capacity, lack of financial autonomy, and limited public engagement. The study highlights the urgent need for governance reforms, emphasizing gender-responsive strategies, increased financial independence, community participation, and digital governance solutions. Policy recommendations include strengthening legal enforcement, enhancing financial decentralization, promoting participatory governance, and leveraging digital platforms to improve transparency and efficiency.By addressing these governance gaps, Union Parishads can evolve into more effective and inclusive institutions, contributing to equitable local development in Bangladesh. This study provides actionable insights for policymakers, development practitioners, and local government stakeholders, paving the way for a more resilient and participatory local governance system
Translation Strategies of Culture-Loaded Words from the Perspective of Functional Equivalence Theory—A Case Study on Zhang Peiji’s Selected Modern Chinese Essays (I)
Chinese culture is extensive and profound, and there are many excellent Chinese literary works which contain a large number of cultural elements. In order to transmit Chinese culture better, it is very important to translate the culture-loaded words appropriately. Based on Naida’s functional equivalence theory, the paper conducts a case study of the culture-loaded words in Selected Modern Chinese Essay (I), focusing on Zhang Peiji’s translation strategies in translating ecology culture-loaded words, material culture-loaded words, social culture-loaded words, religious culture-loaded words and language culture-loaded words. It is concluded that functional equivalence theory can guide the translation of culture-loaded words to a certain extent and is helpful to increase the comprehensibility of the translated text. In the process of translation, translators should flexibly choose appropriate translation strategies according to different situations, so as to help Chinese culture go abroad
Internet Era and Ideological-Political Education: Impacts on University Students and Policy Responses
The rapid development of the Internet has presented both unprecedented opportunities and challenges for ideological and political education among college students. While the Internet has diversified information sources, expanded students' access to knowledge, and enhanced cultural and ideological diversity and openness - enabling freer expression and sharing of ideas - its virtual and anonymous nature has simultaneously contributed to information complexity and moral value pluralism. These developments pose significant challenges to the stability and authority of traditional ideological and political education. This paper conducts a thorough analysis of both the positive and negative impacts of the Internet on college students' ideological and political education. Building upon this analysis, corresponding countermeasures and recommendations are proposed, offering valuable insights and references for innovating ideological and political education in the new era
Industrial Language Service Research: A Review
Industrial language service, an emerging field within language service studies, refers to linguistic support that integrates with and permeates various industries. A comprehensive review of existing literature reveals that current research primarily concentrates on four key sectors: medical care, tourism, governmental affairs, and transportation. These studies predominantly employ questionnaires and interviews as their main research instruments, with a particular focus on dominant languages and language usage patterns. To advance this field, future research should prioritize four strategic directions: first, addressing the linguistic needs of disadvantaged groups; second, expanding the scope of study to include minority languages, regional dialects, disability communication systems (e.g., sign languages and Braille), and non-verbal communication; third, developing dedicated corpora for industrial language services; and fourth, broadening research perspectives to encompass legal frameworks, community engagement, technological innovation, and digital inclusion. This multidimensional approach will significantly enhance our understanding and application of industrial language services across various sectors
