What is the Reaper Singing? Spatial Writing of “The Solitary Reaper” and the Construction of Britain’s Identity

    Get PDF
This essay explores the song of the wheat-cutting woman in Wordsworth’s “The Solitary Reaper” through the lens of literary geography. Through the interpretation of the poem, it reveals the relationship between England and Scotland and historical reflection contained in it. Through the analysis of real space, imaginary space and dominant space, we explore how the song of the wheat-cutting girl in poetry can become the carrier of historical and cultural memory. Research shows that the geographical and cultural characteristics of Scotland are shown in delicate brushstrokes in the poem, and the complex historical relationship between England and Scotland is also conveyed secretly and deeply through the song of the wheat-cutting girl

Subtitle Translation from the Perspective of Eco-translatology——A Case Study of the Film Flipped

    Get PDF
In the context of increasing cross-cultural exchanges, films stand out as a prominent medium for cultural communication. Therefore, subtitle translation of films is a key link in breaking language barriers and realizing cultural transmission, whose importance is self-evident. Based on the innovative and systematic theoretical framework of eco-translatology, this paper conducts a specific analysis of the subtitle translation in the film Flipped. Combining the concept of “three-dimensional transformation” proposed by eco-translatology, it discusses the adaptive selection and transformation in the linguistic, cultural, and communicative dimensions respectively, reveals the application value and guiding significance of this theory in subtitle translation, provides useful references for film subtitle translation practice, and promotes the effective realization of cross-cultural film and television communication

A Strategic Study on the Integration of Chinese Culture into the Course of "College English Audiovisual and Speaking" under the Background of Cultural Self-confidence

    Get PDF
This paper discusses the importance and implementation strategies of integrating Chinese culture into College English Audiovisual and Speaking Course under the background of cultural confidence. By analyzing the role of traditional Chinese culture in English teaching, this paper emphasizes the importance of integrating Chinese culture into teaching to expand students' knowledge, improve comprehensive quality, cultivate cultural self-confidence, enhance cultural communication and improve teaching level. This paper diagnoses the problems existing in the current English audio-visual speaking course, including the lack of understanding of traditional Chinese culture, ignoring language and cultural differences, and the lack of confidence in traditional culture among college students. In response to these problems, this paper proposes a series of improvement strategies, including integrating more cultural factors into teaching, strengthening teachers' cultural sensitivity training, student-centered promotion of cultural self-confidence, active participation of families, and clarifying the goals and contents of cultural self-confidence in teaching. This study aims to provide theoretical basis and practical guidance for English education practice, promote the inheritance and development of traditional Chinese culture, enhance students' cultural self-confidence, and effectively improve the quality of English teachin

Intelligent Proportion Optimization of SFRC Using Ensemble Learning: A Multi-Objective Predictive Framework

    Get PDF
Steel fiber-reinforced concrete (SFRC) is formulated by incorporating short, slender steel fibers into standard concrete, thereby creating a composite material. This addition significantly mitigates the brittle nature of concrete, enhancing its strength, toughness, and durability. The application of SFRC not only improves structural safety and service life but also promotes the development of green building materials and efficient construction technologies. To optimize the mix proportion design of SFRC, key parameters such as steel fiber content, water, cement, sand, natural aggregates, and water reducer were collected. A neural network model was constructed to leverage its powerful nonlinear mapping capabilities, establishing an implicit relationship between the mix proportions and compressive strength. The trained model enables rapid prediction of SFRC compressive strength, while a genetic algorithm was employed to inversely search for the optimal mix proportions that meet target performance requirements, providing a novel approach and design strategy for the intelligent design of SFRC

Research Progress and Prospect of Well Leakage Intelligent Identification and Monitoring Technology

    Get PDF
Well leakage is a major factor affecting the safety of drilling operations, especially for fractured reservoirs. At present, scholars at home and abroad have carried out a lot of research on the causes of well leakage, leakage identification, leakage prevention process and other aspects, and have made great progress, but there are few systematic summaries on the intelligent monitoring of well leakage. Therefore, the research on the existing well leakage intelligent monitoring technology is of guiding significance to the subsequent development of well leakage monitoring technology by understanding the mechanism, technical method and effect achieved by each well leakage monitoring technology. Based on the systematic summary of the causes of well leakage and the factors affecting leakage loss, it focuses on the common methods of well leakage intelligent monitoring both at home and abroad, and summarises the evaluation effect of the methods and proposes the development trend and research focus of the well leakage intelligent monitoring technology. The development trend and research focus of intelligent monitoring technology are proposed

A Study on Meanings of English Polysemous Nouns from the Perspective of Cognitive Domain

    Get PDF
This study presents a systematic investigation of English polysemous nouns from the perspective of cognitive domains, exploring how different cognitive domains contribute to the construction and extension of noun meanings. The research identifies and analyzes two fundamental types of cognitive domains: the Cognitive Domain for Entity and the Cognitive Domain for Event. The former is further divided into macro-cognitive and micro-cognitive domains, while the latter manifests through verb-noun and preposition-noun structures.Through detailed analysis of authentic language examples, this study reveals that the Macro Cognitive Domain exhibits conventional characteristics of entities and establishes fixed noun meanings, while the Micro Cognitive Domain reveals entity-specific qualities that become salient in particular contexts. The research also demonstrates how nouns can extend their meanings from entity reference to event reference through qualia structure and prepositional constructions. The findings suggest that noun polysemy is systematically motivated by cognitive mechanisms and contextual factors, rather than being arbitrary. This study not only advances theoretical understanding of polysemy but also provides practical implications for language teaching and learning. The cognitive domain framework offers valuable insights into how words acquire and maintain multiple related meanings within systematic cognitive structures

Fractal Learning: A Minimum Viable Instruction Approach to Democratizing and Accelerating Education

    Get PDF
In an era of radical and accelerating change, traditional discipline-specific curricula and institutions are increasingly ill-suited to address the life goals of diverse learners. We suggest that equally radical approaches need to be taken in redesigning education. This paper describes a proof-of-concept workshop—termed “Fractal Learning”—that embodies a minimum viable instruction (MVI) approach. Fractal learning replaces rigid curricula with a flexible, repeatable, goal-oriented framework, leveraging technology, cloud-based resources, and metacognitive scaffolding to accelerate learning and problem-solving skills. The design elements, workshop framework, and iterative cycle are intended to be a provocative suggestion for a more democratized and personalized educational paradigm

Research on the Determination of Joint Debt of Husband and Wife

    Get PDF
The identification of joint debt is in a fundamental position in the settlement of marital debt disputes, but the existing research has exposed the defects of insufficient connection between procedures and entities. On the basis of systematically interpreting the rules for determining the joint debt of husband and wife, through the case situation, it can be found that there are problems such as value imbalance, vague standards and mechanical application of the rules of proof in Article 1064 of the Civil Code. Based on this, targeted suggestions for improvement can not only help the couple’s debt disputes to be properly handled, but also effectively respond to the legislative expectations of “summarizing practical experience”, promote the couple’s debt litigation rules to get rid of the “extreme” legislation, and gradually realize the balance of multiple values
