Shifting gears on active transport transition: Prishtina Case
.Aim: Prishtina Bike is a public bicycle-sharing system designed to promote sustainable transportation in Prishtina. Since its launch, the system has garnered considerable public interest. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the usage patterns of Prishtina Bike, highlighting gender distribution, frequency of use, and common travel routes. Methods: Data were collected from the Prishtina Bike application, including the number of registered users, gender distribution, daily usage rates, and the most frequently traveled routes. The analysis focused on key metrics such as average trip duration and distance. Descriptive statistics were employed to summarize user demographics and behavioral patterns. Results: As of today, 5,373 individuals have registered for Prishtina Bike. Among them, 75% are male and 25% are female. The application does not track users\u27 ages. Approximately 1,085 users have used the bicycles at least once. On average, 180 people use the bikes daily, and the most frequented route is from Mother Theresa square to other locations across the city. Users typically ride for \u3c 30 minutes, as the system allows free use for up to 30 minutes. The data indicate an average distance traveled per trip of 1,378 meters. Conclusions: The data suggest that Prishtina Bike is predominantly used by men, with a moderate daily ridership. The short distances and frequent use of bicycles for \u3c 30 minutes suggest that many users are utilizing the bikes for short commutes or leisure activities. Finally, it can be concluded that Prishtina Bike has successfully attracted thousands of users, and its usage patterns indicate a promising shift towards sustainable urban mobility in Prishtina

The Importance of Food in Children Until 12 Years
Food plays an important role in human especially physical and mental development. In children it plays an important role because their bodies develop very quickly. The aim of this study was to identify and improve school feeding choices through an educational and awareness approach. Such a thing was realized through the survey procedure as the primary stage of obtaining information on the current eating habits of children during their stay at school. Then, to get closer to these children, we have given a lecture, including children, teachers, and parents in discussions about the importance of healthy eating and ways to make more informed choices. During these sessions, children in primary school were encouraged to compile lists of recommended foods and beverages for consumption during school hours. Our results show a small knowledge of children about importance of food, but the desire to cooperate on the part of parents and teachers was very high. Raising awareness and raising awareness of the healthiest food among children is most necessary
The Impact of Public Transport on Air Quality in the Municipality of Mitrovica
The city of Mitrovica faces significant challenges related to air pollution, which is influenced by various factors, including the use of private vehicles and heavy industry. This study examines the impact of public transport development on air quality in this area. While the public transport infrastructure in Mitrovica remains underdeveloped, its absence pushes a large portion of the population to rely on private vehicles, contributing to high levels of pollution. Additionally, industrial pollution from heavy enterprises, such as Trepça, significantly increases air contamination, elevating the concentration of toxic substances like lead and cadmium in the atmosphere. The study concludes by suggesting improvements in the public transport system to reduce air pollution, including investments in electric buses and green infrastructure. Such improvements could yield noticeable benefits for public health and the urban environment

ntroduction: Diabetes mellitus is a chronic metabolic disorder that causes hyperglycemia and various life-threatening health problems. Hematological parameters play an important role in the progression and pathogenesis of diabetes. Purpose: The purpose of this research is to determine possible changes in hemogram parameters in patients with type 2 diabetes. Materials and methods: To determine the possible relationship between hemogram parameters and the disease of diabetes 2, the patients were divided into two groups; with HbA1c up to 7.8% and with HbA1c values\u3e7.8%. To determine the concentrations of HbA1c and glucose, blood was collected in 2 mL tubes containing K3-EDTA from 95 patients, in the Medical Laborato- ry,,Biolab Zafi,,-F in Peja and the Polyclinic Laboratory,,,Biolab -Zafi,, in the clinic from 01.02.2024 to 15.07.2024. Results: Mean and standard deviation of monocyte count, basophil count, monocyte %, basophil %, RBC count, hematocrit, MCV, MCH, RDW-SD, MPV, PDW, PLC-R and platelets showed a significant difference between patients with type 2 diabetes divided according to HbA1c values. The Pearson correlation coefficient showed that the total number of Leukocytes, the number of neutrophils, the number of monocytes, the number of basophils, RDW-CV, PDW, MPV, PLC-R and platelets were statistical- ly positively related to the concentration of glucose while the number of Erythrocytes, Hgb, hematocrit, MCV, , and RDW-SD were statistically negatively associated with glucose concentration in patients with type 2 diabetes. Conclusion: Based on the results of our study, it can be concluded that patients with type 2 diabetes may have abnormalities in various hematological parameters. It is recommended to regularly test hematological parameters for early diagnosis and appro- priate management of diabetes-related complications
EVALUATION OF VITAMIN D STATUS IN SEASONAL SERUM SAMPLES
Introduction: Today, the measurement of vitamin D is usually performed for the diagnosis of osteoporosis and the establishment of an appropriate concentration that would effectively prevent the occurrence of other human diseases. The purpose of this study was to determine if the season, namely the time of the year in which the sample is taken for analysis, can affect the concentration of total vitamin D in the population of the Dugagjin Plain in the Republic of Kosovo. Material and Method: In two laboratories; The Biolab-Zafi-F Medical Laboratory in the city of Peja and the Biolab-Zafi Pol- yclinic laboratory in Klina have conducted a retrospective study to determine the values of total vitamin D (25-hydroxyvitamin D) in serum analyzed in patients with without hospitalization aged \u3e58 years in the time period from 01.01.2022 to 31.08.2024. Vitamin D concentration assays were performed with the cobas e 411 analyzer, a fully automated analyzer using an Electro- ChemiLuminescence (ECL) technology. Results: The number of serum samples that we had determined vitamin D for the mentioned period was 863 outpatients, men and women. Vitamin D concentration was consistently lower in serum samples during winter than during the other three seasons dur- ing a calendar year. Multivariate analysis showed that the concentration of total vitamin D was independent of the gender and the season of blood analysis, but not of the age of the patients. Conclusion: According to the results, the season of blood sampling for vitamin D determination should be considered as an im- portant preanalytical factor in the estimation of vitamin D concentration. The amount of vitamin D synthesized during the sum- mer season should be sufficient for maintain the concentration \u3e 45 -55 nmol/L during the rest of the year
