Implementing Project-Based Learning in English for Specific Purposes: Enhancing Language Proficiency and Field-Specific Vocabulary in Dentistry
This study explores the implementation of Project-Based Learning (PBL) in English for Specific Purposes (ESP) courses within the Dentistry Department. The primary objective was to enhance students\u27 language proficiency and field-specific vocabulary in dentistry through an engaging, real-world project. To achieve this, a journal titled The Art of Dentistry was created, serving as the central project for the course. Students were divided into teams, each responsible for researching and developing materials on various topics related to oral health. These topics included general oral hygiene, dental infections, oral checkups, cosmetic dentistry, oral anesthesia complications, and pediatric oral care. The students synthesized their research into informative pamphlets, which were then distributed to peers and the wider community to raise awareness about oral health. The project not only provided students with the opportunity to apply their English skills in a meaningful context but also allowed them to deepen their understanding of dentistry-related terminology and concepts. The collaborative nature of the project fostered teamwork and communication skills, essential for their future professional careers. Results from the study indicate that the PBL approach significantly enhanced students\u27 engagement and proficiency in both general and specialized English. Additionally, feedback from students highlighted the effectiveness of the project in making learning more relevant and motivating. This research demonstrates the potential of PBL in ESP courses to bridge the gap between language learning and professional practice, providing a model for other disciplines seeking to integrate language education with subject specific content
Interpersonal Authority in Miller’s The Death of A Salesman
The power dynamics among the different characters depicted in Miller’s drama play a crucial role in order to understand the implications of this theatrical piece. The interesting aspect of the various interpersonal authorities between the different members of the Loman family, and the other characters of their inner and outer circle, challenge the audiences and readers in understanding the consequences of action, inaction, and misperceiving of the reality, and the ultimate failure of the “American dream”. This paper intends to bring to light these misidentifications, and how they are created by authority present events that and ambition or lack of it, and how these elements create an intricate maze of circumstances and misinterpretations of past and ultimately lead to death, to desolation, and the definite defeat

AI applications in education often encounter additional challenges, including potential biases, the necessity for ongoing human oversight, and the risks of misuse. However, these challenges may present educational opportunities for students to become familiar with social biases, complexities, and risks associated with AI. The essay presents solutions for effectively addressing these challenges to ensure the responsible and ethical use of large language models in education
The relationship between childhood trauma and depression in ubt college students: mediating and moderating effects of psychological resilience
Introduction: Childhood trauma and depression are important aspects with a profound impact on the mental health of individuals. These two realities, when they collide in individuals or students, happen to bring challenges affecting academic performance, and among the many reasons is the experience of war related to the exposure to violence. However, there are cases where exposure to a traumatic event does not always cause depression at the person because psychological stability as a mediating factor changes the focus of the individual and emphasizes the strengths he has and help him cope with the trauma. Material and methods: A single-measure prospective correlational study was conducted through three questionnaires at UBT College. The study involved college students, and permission was obtained in advance from the faculty. Data analysis performed through SPSS statistical program. Results: We had a total of 136 participants in this research. Of them, 112 or (82.4%) were female, and 24 or (17.6%) were male. The average age of the participants was 20 years old, i.e., 60 or (44.1%) of them. Of the 136 participants, the students were mostly from the 3rd year, i.e., 39%. Regard the order of children in family more participants were the first child in the family (43.4%), and whether they live with both parents or not (58.1% of them live with both parents, and 41.9% do not live with both parents). And regarding the level of economic status, the largest number of participants were of medium economic status, with 55.9%. We found significant differences between gender, year of studies, number of children in the family, whether they live with both parents, and economic status with regard to the level of childhood trauma, depression, and psychological resilience
Respiratory Emergencies in Dental Practice: Pathophysiology and Management
Respiratory emergencies are among the most common issues encountered in dental practice and can be critical threats to patient safety. These emergencies can quickly escalate to cardiac emergencies; therefore, it is vital for dentists to possess comprehensive knowledge of each type of respiratory emergency and to manage them swiftly and effectively. This paper aims to present the pathophysiology and clinical symptomatology associated with respiratory emergencies, equipping health professionals with the necessary knowledge to identify at-risk patients. Additionally, it provides essential information on respiratory emergency management protocols. The methodology employed in this study involved a review of the literature regarding respiratory emergencies occurring during dental interventions. Data were sourced from articles and academic texts available in electronic databases, including MedLine Plus, Medscape, IntechOpen, and PubMed. Conclusion: Rapid assessment and efficient management of respiratory emergencies, guided by the basic life support algorithm (PABCD), are crucial for ensuring continuous oxygenated blood supply to the patient\u27s brain. This approach can effectively address life-threatening situations that may arise during dental interventions
Increasing the reliability and safety of the power system in the integration of wind turbines and solar panels by exploiting the selectivity and accuracy of relay protection
Renewable energy sources play an important role in supplying consumers with clean energy, one of these sources that are included in energy diversity is also wind turbines and solar panels. However, their integration is a multidimensional challenge, considering their fluctuations in production that depend on climatic conditions, as well as the situations created in different work regimes. One of the conditions for their reliable operation remains stability and safety during operation. One of the factors for the stability and continuous and safer operation of wind turbines remains the coordination and selectivity of the action of the relay protections, through which, during different regimes and events, the continuity of their operation is preserved. The paper takes into consideration the analysis of some fault cases and the action and the role of the selectivity of the protections in maintaining the electrical parameters and their operating range in the electrical system, especially in the power balance. The paper relies on the methodology of building models and simulations of different cases, the impact of selectivity on the work of wind turbines and solar panels. The cases of design and selectivity of protections during short circuits, outages, or other occurrences of various elements such as; lines, transformers and busbars in the respective substations. The study has been elaborated in substations of the power system of Kosovo, where through comparisons and simulation models it has been achieved in finding comparative results with an impact on the safety of the operation of wind turbines in the substations of the power system. The paper provides an overview of the results that show the challenges of integrating renewable resources into the power system
Voltage stability Analyses in Kosovo Power System
In recent years, there has been an increase in the frequency of blackouts in the system. On 21 June 2024 at 12:24 CET, due to a major incident in the Continental Europe power system region, a large part of the transmission systems of Albania, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina as well as Croatia suffered a voltage collapse followed by a total blackout. Research into preventing blackouts in power systems is crucial. Voltage stability analysis using the modal method is the focus of this paper, which is applied to the case study of the Kosovo power system. The voltage stability margin in Kosovo\u27s network has been determined through system simulations. Energy Performance Contracting and ESCO - Strategic Vector for Large Scale Energy Renovation – Belgium case
The Belgian Energy Performance Contracting is the perfect example helping Belgium as a Member State of EU to achieve its energy efficiency targets. It can inspire the authorities in Kosovo, whose ultimate goal is to join the EU, to prepare the legislation that would incorporate the entire EPC in the procedures for new construction or renovation of buildings. This would be one much appreciated way to prepare at best to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and improve the energy performance of the residential, tertiary and public buildings in Kosovo
Kosovar women and their contribution to the development of artistic music in Kosovo in the period 1972-1990
In this scientific-analytical study, it will be about the contribution of women in the cultivation and development of cultured, artistic music in Kosovo, starting from their first appearance in this sphere of art - very little known until that time - until the appearance on the stage of a multitude of enthusiastic women who, already, did not consider the mentality of the time, on the contrary, they fought it through their education, their appearances on concert and operatic stages. The reflection will begin from 1972 when the High Pedagogical School of Music was founded in Kosovo for the first time, which, a few years later, was transformed into the Academy of Music and from 1987, returned to the Faculty of Arts, where they were part of and other arts, such as: Painting, Graphic Design, Sculpture and a few years later, Acting and Directing. Of course, we will limit ourselves to the field of Music, which included the Instrumental courses (Piano, Violin, Flute, Cello, Double Bass, Horn, etc.), then the Conducting course, the Composition course, as well as the course with the most students, Pedagogical - Artistic (as it was called then) or General Pedagogy. On this occasion, we will note the great effort to the point of exhaustion of the first teachers educated in other centers of the former Yugoslavia who formed the core of the first cadres of Musical Art in Kosovo. Of course, although initially, the number of students was minimal, later this number will gradually increase more and more with their contribution to have (today) a solid base of instrumentalists, singers, conductors and composers who , without fear, they will compete with anyone in Europe and the world, and we will be proud of them today. This, in fact, has only been achieved with colossal, unstoppable work and with many sacrifices
Challenges in Implementing Music Education in Primary and Lower Secondary Schools of General Education in Kosovo
“Certain spiritual aspects can only be illuminated by music is a well-liked and appropriate quote by Kodály, which always finds its place in every society at any time. The closeness of music to human beings/children should be utilized from the earliest stages of a child\u27s development. Thus, schools have the most suitable opportunity to influence the overall education of a child\u27s personality through music education. However, like other educational subjects, music education has its requirements, strategies, methodologies, formats, materials, etc., which modern teaching must adhere to achieve planned goals and outcomes. As a young state, Kosovo is making significant efforts to develop education, and alongside other educational fields, it prioritizes artistic music education. However, considering the various problems encountered in the process, the results are slow and difficult to achieve. For this reason, this paper will present some of the challenges we face on our journey in the music education of children in general education school
