Digital Transformation: From Analog to AI
AI/Machine learning and the ICT world are the daughters of the family of zeros and ones. When we hear the word “digital”, it brings to mind many things: digital cameras, digital video, even digital signal processing. How far are we to realize that nowadays being illiterate can not only refer to its literal meaning of not being able to read or write, but on not knowing how to use a computer, a smartphone, or even perhaps a tablet, all of which go under the so-called family of zeros and ones belonging to the digital world. In the past, analogue signals played a major role in all electronic devices. But times have changed. The so-called analog-to-digital converter was a key turning point. It allowed signals to convert from analog to digital mode. This not only helped in improving signal processing but also made life easier and gave birth to digital electronics. Compared to analog systems, digital systems are faster, more reliable, and easier to develop, which makes them ideal for the demands of modern tech. The future promises even more: smarter machines, deeper automation, and digital systems that can think, learn, and take action. That so-called new era of digital transformation has already begun, but it has not yet reached the peak of Hi-Tech
Leadership in the Era of Remote Work: Challenges and Strategies for Effective Management
The rapid shift to remote work has transformed leadership practices across organizations. While remote work offers flexibility and global collaboration, it also introduces a range of management challenges. This paper examines the key challenges faced by leaders in remote settings, including communication barriers, employee isolation, accountability, and technological readiness. It synthesizes strategies recommended in the literature on remote leadership. Drawing on recent academic and practitioner sources, the paper emphasizes the importance of cultivating a robust digital communication culture, establishing clear expectations, promoting employee well-being, and maintaining a secure technological infrastructure. As organizations continue to navigate hybrid and fully remote work models, understanding these practical and human-centered challenges is essential for effective and resilient leadership
The Impact of Circular Economy on the Development of Firms in Kosovo
In recent years, consumer behaviour has changed significantly as a result of the rapid development of industries. Alongside these changes in consumer behaviour, the need has also emerged to transform the way material goods are produced. At a time when environmental and economic challenges require sustainable approaches, the circular economy (CE) is increasingly recognized as a promising model for the long-term development of both manufacturing and service-oriented businesses. Kosovo being a new developing country, with a growing number of newly established manufacturing businesses, and also having problems with the waste management, it has to take actions toward implementing the principles of the Circular Economy. In today’s linear economy, we extract materials from the earth, process them into products, and eventually discard them as waste. In contrast, the circular economy seeks to eliminate waste generation at the source. What, then, is required to transform our current waste-based economy into one where waste is eliminated, resources circulate, and nature regenerates? The purpose of this study is to demonstrate how the circular economy provides the tools to simultaneously address climate change and biodiversity loss while also meeting critical social and financial needs. Within this pressing context, the study analyses the impact of CE on firm development, with a particular focus on Kosovo, where air pollution has been a persistent issue for years

Noise pollution in urban environment – comparison between Czechia and Kosova and lessons learned
In November 2024 a seminar was held addressing noise pollution and urban planning with the students of Czech Technical University in Prague (CTUP), Masaryk Institute of Advanced Studies (MIAS). During the course Urban Management the students are informed about sound, acoustics as the study of sound, environmental noise and measures and strategies for mitigation and control of noise pollution in urban environments. In particular the seminar addressed noise pollution in Czechia and Kosovo as separate case studies, compare the situation of noise pollution in both countries and derive lessons learned. With the students of, a small research study was initiated. The students were asked to prepare short surveys and interview certain officials to obtain data on the research topics: (I) Noise pollution sources in Czechia (II) Noise annoyance in Czechia and (III) How are noise pollution problems addressed in CZ. “Raising Awareness Today and Building Markets Tomorrow” The Role of Visual Arts in Kosovo
This paper provides a critical analysis of the dual role of visual arts in Kosovo, focusing on their function as instruments for raising societal awareness and as emerging assets within the national and regional cultural economy. Adopting an interdisciplinary approach that combines cultural studies, economics, and visual art theory, the study examines how visual arts contribute to public consciousness, identity construction, and post-conflict cultural recovery. Simultaneously, it evaluates the structural and economic dimensions of the visual arts sector, analyzing the current state of the Kosovar art market through qualitative interviews, policy review, and comparative market data from the Western Balkans. Findings indicate that while Kosovo’s visual arts community demonstrates strong creative output and growing public interest, systemic barriers—such as limited state funding, inadequate institutional infrastructure, and weak integration into international art circuits—continue to inhibit market development. However, evidence also suggests increasing opportunities for expansion through digital platforms, art education, diaspora engagement, and cultural policy reform. The paper concludes by proposing a set of strategic interventions aimed at fostering a sustainable art ecosystem that balances the cultural mission of visual arts with the imperatives of market growth. These include policy recommendations, investment in creative infrastructure, and mechanisms for international mobility and exchange. Ultimately, this research underscores the potential of visual arts to act as both a mirror of Kosovo’s evolving identity and a driver of socio-economic development
