    No full text
Most of the flower beds in public spaces in Kosovo consist of one-year and two-year flowers with beautiful colors, but to be maintained and managed during the summer, they require a lot of commitment. Perennials are plants which live more than two years and are typically cold-hardy plants that will return each year in the spring. The aim of the study was to evaluate the blooming stage and vegetative growth parameters for five Perennial herbaceous plants plants (Rudbeckia fulgida L., Gaillardia aristata L., Astilbe japonica. L, Hosta spp.and Leucanthemumx superbum) in the agroecological conditions of Kosovo. During the 2021–2023 vegetative period, the object of research in our experimental field were five perennial herbaceous plants with 5 cultivars. The experiment was ′Randomized block′ with four replications and 150 plants for each cultivar. Plant seedlings were pro-duced in sun greenhouses and then planted in the ground in April. Perennial herbaceous plants cultivars have demonstrated high decorative value and long period with flowers, good growing, leaves and flowers of different colors (white, red, yellow, pink). Perennial herbaceous plants are more ecologically effective and less expensive to maintain, and are therefore more sustainable. For a good architecture and sustainability of the urban landscape, the studied cultivars should be included in the design and planting structure in Kosovo

Cow\u27s milk as a food product characterized by a complex chemical composi-tion. The human body is easily used mineral substances of milk, because they are easily digestible and usable. Milk as a food product is quite poor in iron, cobalt and other trace elements. Milk from three farms (A, B, C) obtained from the same breed of Holstein cattle and fed differently but with the same animal feed, alfalfa hay, concentrates and wheat straw, was examined. Total daily meal of the cattle was different (20kg farm A, 28kg Farm B and 31kg Farm C per day). The Gerber method used to determine the percentage of fat in milk, Kjeldahl method for determination of total nitrogen and calcu-lation of total proteins. Determination of milk sugar-lactose is by iodometric method. Determination of dry matter is by direct method, based on drying the milk at a temperature of 1050C to a constant weight. The obtained result represents a dry substance and is expressed in percent (%). Determination of the specific gravity and determination of the density of milk with Lactoscan. Analyzed 21 chemical elements (Al, As, B, Ba, Ca, Cd, Co, Cr, Cu, Fe, K, Mg, Mn, Na, Ni, P, Pb, Sr, V and Zn) using ICP - AES (Varian, 715-ES) and using CETAC ultrasonic nebulizer (ICP/U-5000AT+) for better sensitivity. The results of the analysis of the chemical composition of the milk from the three farms are similar. Dry matter (8.22 %), fat (3.65 %) and lactose (4.49 %) dominate milk from farm B, while milk from farm C is dominate protein (3.10 %) density (28.56 %). The lowest values for the chemical composition were measure in milk from farm A. From analysis elements, it can be con-cluded that the highest value is potassium with 1174 mg/L, calcium 1122mg/L and phosphorus 786 mg/L in the milk from farm A. The composi-tion of the food is variable and depends on the type and composition of the animal feed, and the amount of the daily meal. In general, all types of milk from the three farms have enough proteins and dry matter, which is a signal for the quality of the milk

The consumption of milk and dairy products has found significant applicability in our country and around the world, considering the high nutritional values of milk. However, the practice of milk adulteration has created a global concern. Milk adulteration is carried out with various chemicals that undoubtedly reduce the quality of milk and can negatively impact human health, leading to various diseases, including potentially fatal ones. Therefore, high care must be taken in selecting unadulterated milk. This study was conducted to gather detailed information on the adulteration of cow\u27s milk by performing physical analyses such as density, freezing point, and acidity, as well as chemical analyses like added water, vegetable and animal fats, foreign proteins, and chemical compounds (urea), mixed sugars, and microbiological analyses such as the total number of microorganisms. The results of the research are processed in the MS Excel program

The aim of the study is to compare the quality of work, as well as the symptoms of the emotional state of nurses working in the night shift with those who work in the day shift and to investigate the relationship between work quality and the symptoms of the emotional state of nurses. In addition, we will assess the prevalence and accompanying factors of depression, anxiety, and self-esteem among mental health nurses working at the MFMC in order to identify independent predictors of mental health disorders

The Impact of Artificial Intelligence on Tacit Knowledge in Modern Organizations: A Comprehensive Review

    No full text
This comprehensive review explores the transformative impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on tacit knowledge man- agement in modern organizations. Tacit knowledge, which is deeply embedded in individual experiences and often difficult to ar- ticulate, is a critical asset for innovation, problem-solving, and decision-making. However, its elusive nature presents significant challenges in terms of capture, sharing, and utilization within organizational contexts. AI technologies, including natural lan- guage processing (NLP) and machine learning, are emerging as powerful tools to address these challenges by enabling the identi- fication, codification, and dissemination of tacit knowledge. The review systematically examines the role of AI in enhancing knowledge management processes by analyzing vast amounts of unstructured data, such as emails, meeting transcripts, and col- laborative workspaces. These AI-driven tools can uncover hidden patterns and insights that were previously inaccessible, thereby transforming tacit knowledge into more explicit forms that can be easily shared across organizational boundaries. This democra- tization of knowledge not only fosters a culture of continuous learning but also breaks down knowledge silos, allowing for more effective collaboration and innovation. The review identifies potential risks, such as the oversimplification of complex knowledge and the ethical concerns related to data privacy and employee trust. There is a danger that AI may reduce nuanced, context- specific knowledge to algorithmic outputs that lack the depth necessary for effective application. The review concludes by em- phasizing the need for a balanced approach to AI integration in knowledge management. Organizations must leverage AI\u27s strengths while safeguarding the essential human elements of knowledge creation and sharing. Future research should focus on developing ethical frameworks and best practices to ensure that AI enhances rather than diminishes the value of human knowledge in organizational settings

Knowledge, Attitudes, and Practices Regarding Hemorrhagic Fever with Renal Syndrome Among Temporary Mountain Dwellers

    No full text
Introduction: Hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome (HFRS) is a group of acute infectious diseases caused by hantaviruses, which are transmitted by certain rodents that serve as their natural reservoir. Humans are accidental hosts of the virus, and infec- tion typically occurs after exposure to the excretions and secretions of infected rodents. Natural reservoirs of the disease are found in the mountains of Peja, Deçan, Istog, Junik, Gjakova, and Ferizaj, where people who frequent these mountains for vari- ous reasons are at risk. Objective: This study aims to assess the knowledge of temporary mountain dwellers who own cabins and are exposed to con- tact with rodents about the symptoms of the disease, transmission routes, and to evaluate the attitudes and practices that contrib- ute to the transmission of hantaviruses from the reservoir to humans. Materials and Methods: A quantitative method with a cross-sectional study model was used for this research. 204 partici- pants from the municipalities of Deçan, Istog, and Junik who own cabins in the mountains were interviewed face-to-face using a standardized questionnaire. Descriptive and analytical statistics with a 95% confidence level and a p-value of 0.05 were used to explain the participants\u27 responses. Results: 192 (94.1%) of the respondents have heard of HFRS, and 164 (90.4%) know that the disease is very serious, but only 49 (24.0%) consider it very serious in the area where they live. The most recognized symptoms are fever and flu-like symptoms (113 or 55.4% and 82 or 40.0%, respectively). The primary mode of transmission recognized is contact with rodents (100 or 49.0%), and the main preventive measure identified is rodent control (89 or 43.6%). 115 (56.4%) learned about the disease from relatives and friends, and 119 (58.8%) had contact with rodents during the previous season. Conclusions: This study highlights the gap in knowledge and attitudes of residents regarding HFRS, which subsequently leads to shortcomings in practices related to disease prevention

Women in our country face a lack of information about infections known in the world such as HPV. Lack of information and unprotected sexual relations with different partners lead to sexually transmitted infections such as HPV and many other diseases. Therefore, more extensive and accurate information of women in Kosovo can contribute to their well-being. Purpose: The purpose of this study is to determine the level of knowledge and awareness of women in Kosovo about HPV infection and its relationship with cervical cancer. Material and method: This study was carried out from September to October 2023 at the Clinic of Obstetric Gynecology in the Hospital and University Clinical Service of Kosovo as well as abroad. The data was collected from a questionnaire for women, which contains 10 questions and was anonymous. Results: The study included the analysis of a certain group of patients in order to identify their demographic and educationa l characteristics. From this study, we found that in general the respondents are informed about cervical cancer. The participants also had knowledge about HPV and the way it is transmitted, as well as the possibility of being the cause of uterine cancer. Conclusions: The study has highlighted some important aspects related to patients\u27 knowledge and practices regarding sexually transmitted diseases, including HPV, and the importance of routine gynecological check-ups. The results show a satisfactory level of information about HPV, but also a clear lack of awareness and practice for regular checks, such as the pap test. These findings emphasize the need for more focused educational campaigns and increased involvement in regular check-ups to prevent diseases and improve sexual health
