    Congenital Neck Cysts

    No full text
Congenital cystic masses of the neck are rare developmental anomalies that can present at any age group. The most common lesions of this group are thyroglossal duct cysts, branchial cleft cysts, and cystic hygromas, while thymic cysts and cervical bron- chogenic cysts are less frequent. This paper reviews and analyzes literature to evaluate developments in the classification, management, and treatment (surgi- cal, medicinal, or other) of congenital neck cysts. The study draws from current scientific literature in diagnostics and surgery, with a focus on diagnostic methods for identifying these cysts. Congenital neck cysts are congenital pathologies resulting from malformations during embryonic development (Limani, 2003). The most common lesions are thyroglossal duct cysts, branchial cleft cysts, & Hammoud, 2011). Al-Khateeb and Al Zoubi (2007) reported in a retrospective study of 252 Cases that 53% of cystic neck masses are thyroglossal duct cysts, followed by branchial cleft cysts. Additionally, Ayugi and Ogeng\u27o (2010) noted that cystic masses of the neck frequently occur along the midline (31.3%). Proper diagnosis of these lesions is crucial to ensure adequate treatment, as some lesions risk malignant trans- formation (Rosa&Hirsch, 2008). Erikci and Hoşgör (2014) emphasized that for the treatment of congenital neck cysts, the opti- mal treatment is surgical resection to minimize recurrence and malignancy risks. In conclusion, congenital neck cysts are rare malformations. Imaging techniques such as ultrasound, computerized tomogra- phy (CT scans), magnetic resonance (MRI) and needle biopsy are the most common for diagnosis. Treatment options range from conservative to surgical interventions, with surgical resection being the preferred method to prevent recurrence and reduce ma- lignancy risk

    No full text
The objective of the research was to perform a comparative evaluation of Linear Regression and Random Forest for predicting property prices in Prishtina. The analysis utilized a dataset comprising 1,512 property transactions, employing metrics such as Mean Squared Error (MSE), Coefficient of Determination (R²), Mean Absolute Error (MAE), and Root Mean Squared Error (RMSE) for evaluation. The study also included a variable importance assessment. After preprocessing and normalizing the data, both models were trained and evaluated. The findings indicated that the Random Forest model outperformed the Linear Regression model. The Variable Importance Test highlighted the distance from the central business district and the proximity to the main road leading to the central business district as key factors influencing housing prices in both models. This study emphasizes the importance of comparative analysis, meticulous data preparation, and the use of diverse evaluation metrics. It offers valuable insights for scientific research, practical application, and policy formulation, particularly in understanding efficient property price prediction mechanisms that could affect market equilibrium, real estate investment strategies, and housing policies. The uniqueness of this research lies in its methodological rigor and focus on the real estate market of Prishtina, a previously unexplored context, with potential implications for other emerging economies with dynamic real estate sectors such as Kosovo

Many buildings have been erected in Kosovo’s urban landscape since 2000, especially in the capital city Prishtina. These buildings differ in shape, materials, colors and many other aspects. Quite often the construction of individual buildings was not fully supported with appropriate infrastructure, e.g. roads, pavements, public space etc. Altogether there is concern about the quality of the architecture being delivered. In this regard one particular aspect is the placement of the building on site and site planning. Many problems have been observed in the placement of new buildings leading to fractured spaces around buildings, difficulties accessing buildings etc. There are a certain factors which lead to this deficiency in contemporary architecture in Prishtina. The problems of the building placement and site planning are amplified when there is a sloping terrain. Prishtina has a sloping terrain due to many hills and in this case poor building placement and site planning aggravate the urban landscape of the city

The purpose of the paper is to reflect the role and importance of the establishment and operation of the Stock Exchange in fulfilling the general landscape of the economic and financial system of the Republic of Kosovo. It is worth noting that organized securities exchange markets represent a very important segment of every developed economy, which until recently were an almost unknown or very little-known phenomenon in our country. Such markets represent places where securities are bought and sold, that is, places where financial resources are reallocated. This is precisely the reason why different interests and different financial institutions are intertwined here, and as is the case with all other markets, the securities market represents the highest level of market organization within a financial system. The establishment of the stock exchange would undoubtedly motivate the promotion of higher savings and the promotion of long-term investments, which would create opportunities to raise funds through Venture Capital, the facilitation of foreign portfolio investments in Kosovo, provided the necessary mechanism (the market) to invest in securities and shares that would enable greater economic growth which means higher incomes and a higher standard of living. The Republic of Kosovo today faces the challenge of establishing the Stock Exchange, which from a legal point of view, its establishment and operation is a complex process due to the necessary legal and institutional framework
