The evolution of web development
The evolution of web development has been marked by significant technological advancements, transforming the way users interact with digital content. This topic will analyze the key milestones and breakthroughs that have shaped the development of the web from its early days to the modern era. Initially, web development focused on static HTML pages, offering limited interactivity and user engagement. The introduction of CSS and JavaScript brought dynamic content and responsive designs, greatly enhancing the user experience. The emergence of Web 2.0 introduced a new era of web development characterized by user-generated content, social networks, and the rise of interactive web applications. Technologies like AJAX enabled asynchronous data exchange, allowing for more dynamic and sophisticated web experiences. The growth of open-source frameworks like React.js, Angular, and Vue.js further streamlined the development process, making it easier to build complex, feature-rich applications. Recently, the focus has shifted towards Progressive Web Applications (PWAs), serverless architecture, and the integration of artificial intelligence and machine learning, all of which have contributed to improving the performance and personalization of web applications. The topic will also explore future trends, including the impact of Web 3.0 and the decentralization of the web through blockchain technology

These changes not only open up substantial opportunities for financial institutions to maintain their market share but also to meet the ever-evolving needs of consumers. The potential impact of these advancements on the financial services sector in Kosovo, particularly the promising microfinance industry, is a topic of great interest. An analysis of the e-commerce landscape and growth potential in the Western Balkans
This paper investigates the e-commerce landscape in the Western Balkans, analyzing key factors such as market size, consumer behavior, and the role of digital infrastructure in shaping the sector\u27s development. Despite increasing internet penetration and smartphone adoption, it is suggested that the region faces significant challenges, including low digital literacy, limited payment options, and underdeveloped logistics and courier services. The study covers both demand and supply sides of e-commerce and highlights the barriers faced by SMEs, regulatory inconsistencies, and fragmented courier services that hinder market expansion and cross-border e-commerce. The COVID-19 pandemic accelerated online shopping trends but exposed pre-existing logistical and infrastructure gaps. Policy recommendations include streamlining customs procedures, harmonizing regulations, and investing in digital infrastructure to foster a conducive environment for e-commerce growth, innovation, and economic development
Social Entrepreneurship for Sustainable Development
The role of social entrepreneurship has become increasingly important, particularly following economic downturns. In developing countries, limited government resources impede the ability to address diverse social needs while fostering inclusivity and environmental sustainability. Despite existing legislation for social enterprises, the formal registration process remains underdeveloped, leading social entrepreneurship to often take shape through entities such as non-governmental organizations (NGOs). This study combines a literature review with qualitative research, using semi-structured interviews with NGOs in Kosovo to explore their objectives, challenges, and contributions to sustainable development. The findings reveal that NGOs largely function as social enterprises, advancing economic, social, and environmental goals, positioning them as key drivers of sustainable development. However, achieving these goals requires strong coordination and commitment from government, NGOs, and the private sector
Principles of International Humanitarian Law and their compliance-Kosovo context
Since the end of World War II, there have been numerous conflicts, both on a global scale and within specific countries, which have increased human suffering and resulted in extensive damage to property. Over the course of time, international humanitarian law (IHL), which seeks to mitigate the hardships of individuals affected by armed conflicts, has evolved and entrenched with a worthy objective. States parties to international humanitarian law treaties have a specific obligation to ensure universal understanding and implementation of its rules. The political elites in Belgrade orchestrated and directed Serbian forces, which posed a significant challenge to the implementation of IHL during the recent conflict in Kosovo (1998-1999). Yugoslavia has signed and ratified the Geneva Conventions and their Additional Protocols. These agreements, comprising 600 distinct articles, clearly outlined the protection of civilians and non-combatants during times of conflict. This paper analyzes the foundational principles of IHL and the instances of their infringement in the recent conflict in Kosovo. Our research revealed findings that establish a connection between the adherence to principles of IHL during armed conflicts and the subsequent efforts to foster peace and trust in the post-conflict phase. We achieved this by utilizing analytical, historical, legal-dogmatic, and qualitative research method
Pedagogical Transition in Alternative Delivery Mode (Adm) for Open High School (Ohs)
In the pursuit of Education for All, equitable access to quality education has been the mission of the Department of Education. In specific, the Alternative Delivery Mode (ADM) of instruction became an option to Filipino learners not only in the pre-pandemic period like in the case of Open High School (OHS) but also in the new normal scenario through the Modular Distance Education. However, as the COVID-19 pandemic affected our schools, there is no existing literature that features the pedagogical transition in ADM for OHS program from the old to new normal instruction. It is on this premise that this research aimed to determine the extent of ADM program delivery as perceived by the 40 Students and 24 Teachers from Grades 8-10 of Bayawan National High School, DepEd-Bayawan City Division. An embedded design or a mixed method design was utilized for the data collection procedure while weighted mean and Braun and Clarke’s thematic analysis were used as statistical tools for tabulating and explaining the results. The findings indicated that there were “high” extent of ADM program delivery in both the old instruction and new normal period. Furthermore, it disclosed that attending school and completing secondary education were the highest learning indicators while handling student behaviors and establishing learning expectations in ADM class as pedagogical transition took place has emerged as main challenges in the current context of education. In view thereof, creation of modified modules and constant consultation for monitoring students’ progress were part of the recommendation
Brain Usage and Nature Vs Nurture in Children’s Language Acquisition: An Argumentative Approach
Acquisition has no end especially when it comes to children, which is why the aim of this paper is to take a turn and approach brain usage and nature vs nurture to see how much they have an impact on children\u27s language acquisition. In order to achieve this aim, two research questions were raised: 1) How does brain usage and nature vs nurture impact children\u27s language acquisition? and 2) Does brain usage and nature vs nurture help children acquire a language faster and more swiftly than adults? This study was conducted through the use of qualitative and Classical Argumentative Method. The results show that brain usage does in fact impact children’s language acquisition and help children learn languages faster and more swiftly than adults, due to rapid brain development since birth and the fact that they use both sides of the brain (left/right). Nature vs nurture, on the other hand, despite still not being solved by scientists/researchers as to which is superior than the other, have both been claimed to impact children in acquiring languages as they come together hand in hand
The Impact of Structured Debates on Developing Speaking Proficiency in English Language Learners: A Case Study with 2nd Year Students in the Course of English Language Skills 4
This paper provides a comprehensive analysis of debates as a pedagogical tool in English language education. This study investigates the impact of structured debates on developing speaking proficiency in English language learners, specifically focusing on second-year students enrolled in the course English Language Skills 4. Utilizing the Lincoln-Douglas format, the research examines how debates enhance fluency, accuracy, and linguistic complexity in speaking and not only. Data collection methods included direct observation during the debates and analysis of reflection letters written by the students post-debate. These reflection letters provided insights into the students\u27 perceptions of how participating in the debate affected their speaking skills and overall language proficiency. According to the results, this also encouraged 21st century skills like: critical thinking, team spirit, research skills, creativity and so on. To add up, a comparison has been made between students’ overall performance in this course pre-debate and post-debate, and the results show that their overall interest for the course as well as their self-confidence increased after the debate
