    This research aims to examine the implementation of the process-oriented writing instruction in higher education institutions in Kosovo. It explores how this teaching approach can develop students as writers and their overall academic performance. This study analyzes the process-oriented approach in terms of its advantages and obstacles, with an objective to foreground as well how the framework can best be used in university courses. Through this approach, the learners are believed to acquire an awareness of the skills necessary for writing and the role classroom activities play in promoting their own writing abilities. The research also considers the constraints educators encounter in exercising this pedagogy within higher education in Kosovo. Ultimately, the work is aimed at determining best practices for integrating process-oriented writing in institutions of higher education that could potentially maximize student outcomes

    Proper management of electrical energy and its efficient use have gained increasing importance in recent decades due to the growing demand for energy and the need for environmental sustainability. In this context, the development of modern technologies for building automation and energy management has become an essential part of the technological transformations within the energy and construction sectors. This approach not only aims to reduce energy consumption but also contributes to creating a greener and more sustainable environment, while simultaneously enhancing safety, comfort, and control for users. This paper addresses the design and implementation of an intelligent system for energy and home appliance management using KNX technology – an international standard for building automation. The proposed system includes advanced functions such as remote control, real-time monitoring, security management, and optimization of energy consumption in both indoor and outdoor environments. All devices are integrated into a centralized network and can be remotely controlled via mobile devices, offering ease of use, flexibility, and operational efficiency for the end user. The programming will be carried out using the professional ETS 5 software, a standard tool for configuring KNX systems, while the Z41 application will be used for graphical interface and control. The implementation foresees the use of devices from different manufacturers, thereby illustrating the flexible and open nature of the KNX system. Another important aspect addressed in this project is cybersecurity, which is essential due to the interconnection of all devices within digital networks. This paper aims to present a functional and practical model of an integrated energy management system that can be adapted for residential buildings or commercial facilities

    Phenolic Profiles of Rosa canina and Rosa pimpinellifolia Seeds

    The Rosaceae family is one of the most encouraging plants that grow wild in large areas of Asia, Europe, the Middle East and North America. The fruits of two species of this family (Rosa canina L. and Rosa pimpinellifolia L.) attract attention with their high phenolic content. In Türkiye, fresh rosehip fruits are consumed by processing into many products such as jam, herbal tea, jelly. The seeds, which make up about half of the fruit weight, are generally not used. The aim of this study was to investigate the phenolic compounds of two wild Rosa species (Rosa canina L. and Rosa pimpinellifolia L.) seeds. For this purpose, the fruits were harvested from Erzurum, Türkiye in 2024. Methanol extracts of the seeds were prepared and injected into a HPLC-DAD. At the end of the analysis, a total of eleven phenolic compounds were identified in Rosa canina and Rosa pimpinellifolia. These compounds were gallic acid, catechin, hydroxybenzoic acid, chlorogenic acid, caffeic acid, vanillic acid, epicatechin, syringic acid, quercetin-3-glucoside, salicylic acid and resveratrol. Each compound was quantified for both species, allowing for a direct comparative analysis. The results showed that the species Rosa pimpinellifolia L. contains higher levels of catechin (9.50 mg/kg) and quercetin-3-glucoside (3.72 mg/kg) compared to Rosa canina L. In contrast, the highest epicatechin content was found in Rosa canina at 5.41 mg/kg. Additionally, the dominant anthocyanin compound in Rosa pimpinellifolia L. was identified as cyanidin-3-glucoside (14.32 mg/kg). Statistical analyses (ANOVA and t-test depending on data distribution) revealed that the differences between the two species in terms of these compounds were statistically significant (p \u3c 0.05). These findings highlight the different phytochemical profiles of the two Rosa species and suggest that Rosa pimpinellifolia L. may be a potent source of certain antioxidants, particularly catechins and anthocyanins. The study results indicate that rosehip seeds are important wastes and might be potential resources for the development of functional foods and nutraceuticals

    Assessment of Milk Quality from a Physicochemical Perspective in Selected Case Farms in the Municipality of Rahovec

    This study aims to evaluate the physicochemical quality of milk from several farms in the Municipality of Rahovec. Milk is an essential nutritional source, and its composition is influenced by various factors such as cow breed, feeding, farming practices, and storage conditions. During August-September 2023, milk samples were collected from 8 different farms in the Rahovec region. The samples were analyzed in the laboratory for key physicochemical parameters including pH, fat content, protein, sugar (lactose), density, water percentage, temperature, freezing point, and salt percentage. Results showed that milk pH ranged within normal limits (6.58–6.99), fat and protein content varied depending on the farm, while sugar and salt levels remained stable. Variations in density and water content suggest changes in milk composition possibly due to farming conditions or adulteration. Statistical analysis indicated that differences between samples were mostly not significant, except for pH in some cases. This study provides valuable information for improving milk quality in local farms and can serve as a basis for developing better production practices

    Comparison of Physico-Chemical Parameters of Packaged Milk in the Kosovo Market

    Milk is a fundamental food commodity and an important source of proteins, fats, carbohydrates, vitamins, and minerals. Its nutritional value and technological properties largely depend on its physico-chemical composition, which directly influences both quality and consumer perception. The aim of this study was to evaluate and compare the physico-chemical parameters of different packaged milk brands available in the Kosovo market. Samples from several commercial brands were analyzed using the Lactoscan SL60 device. The tested parameters included fat, protein, lactose, density, solids-not-fat (SNF), salts, added water, and freezing point. Results showed noticeable variations among brands, especially in fat, protein, and added water content. Some products demonstrated values close to the minimal standards, while others indicated dilution or higher variability, potentially affecting both nutritional value and technological performance. Overall, most tested samples complied with the basic quality requirements; however, the brand-to-brand differences highlight the need for systematic monitoring and stricter quality control to ensure consistency and consumer confidence in the domestic dairy market

    Unique Phytochemical Fingerprint: Comparative Phytochemical Extraction of Leaf and Flower Parts of a Kosovo Endemic Plant Using Soxhlet Apparatus with Different Solvents

    Kosovo represents one of the most botanically diverse regions in the Balkans, characterized by a complex geological structure and favorable climatic conditions that support a wide range of endemic plant species. The Šar Mountains, Prokletije, and Koritnik regions are particularly recognized as key centers of endemism. Forsythia europaea, a member of the Oleaceae family, is a notable endemic species native to Kosovo. In this study, F. europaea samples were collected from the Gınçar region. The leaves and flowers were separated and airdried at room temperature in a cool, shaded environment. Soxhlet extraction was performed using ethanol and hexane as solvents to obtain concentrated extracts for future bioactivity evaluation. The resulting extracts will be utilized in upcoming anticancer studies, aiming to explore the pharmacological potential of F. europaea and contribute to the scientific understanding and conservation of Kosovo’s endemic flora

    Innovative Design of High-Pressure Vertical Pumps: Tribological Analysis and the Effects of Lubricant Injection

    This study addresses the innovative design of high-pressure vertical pumps, with a special focus on tribological analysis and the impact of lubricant injection on their performance. The use of advanced technologies in the design of pump components aims to enhance mechanical efficiency, reduce wear of moving parts, and extend the operational lifespan of the equipment, improving work quality, temperature control, and overall operational output. Through tribological analysis, friction, wear, and interfacial load under high-pressure conditions are evaluated. A key component of the research is the investigation of the effects of lubricant injection, which helps create a protective layer and minimizes energy losses. Experimental results and theoretical modeling show that controlled lubricant injection significantly improves system performance and reduces the need for frequent maintenance, through the integration and synchronization of lubricant injection software with the mechanical eccentric. This paper contributes to the development of more efficient and sustainable pumps, suitable for high-demand industrial applications in the motor industry

The method aims to understand and explain how natural lighting qualitatively affects spatial perception, psychological well-being, and the overall aesthetics of the environment. The approach used is descriptive-analytical, which allows for the analysis of existing literature as well as the description of design practices in real environments. In conclusion, natural lighting is not just a source of light but a living element that interacts with minimalist style to create harmonious, functional, and healthy spaces

    Reimagining News: Constructive Journalism as a Theoretical Framework for Transitional Media

    This paper explores constructive journalism as a theoretical framework for transitional media, addressing the challenges of reporting in contexts marked by political polarization, post-conflict dynamics, and fragile institutional trust. Drawing on peace journalism and solutions journalism, it conceptualizes constructive journalism as an approach aimed at fostering engagement, dialogue, and socially responsible reporting. The study employs conceptual analysis to clarify the core principles and definitions of constructive journalism, and a literature-based theoretical synthesis to integrate interdisciplinary scholarship on media ethics, audience engagement, and normative communication practices. Applying constructive journalism is particularly important in transitional societies where negative news is often treated as “good news” perpetuating conflict-oriented narratives. The paper further discusses how this framework can inform newsroom practices and media policies, highlighting both opportunities and structural constraints. By articulating its theoretical foundations and practical relevance, the study provides a roadmap for future research and reimagining news toward inclusive, constructive, and future-oriented public discourse

Student Hyrije Mehmeti1 Abstract Images generated with Artificial Intelligence (AI) are emerging as a powerful tool for disinformation, particularly on Facebook, where content spreads rapidly and reaches wide audiences. This paper examines how such images are used as engagement bait in Albanianlanguage Facebook posts to spread emotional disinformation. The study draws on fact-checkerverified cases where fabricated visuals were paired with captions designed to provoke user interaction and amplify reach. Using a qualitative case study approach, the analysis was guided by three criteria: the post included an AI-generated image, the text was in Albanian, and the caption contained explicit engagement prompts. Findings show that these posts spread widely not because of their credibility, but because they strategically exploited emotions such as anger, fear, pride, and even empathy, which drive rapid user reactions. This combination of synthetic visuals and emotionally charged captions enables disinformation to achieve viral circulation
