The Influence of Visual Aesthetics on the Perception of Functionality in Graphic Designs
No full textIn the field of graphic design, the interaction between visual aesthetics and functionality plays a crucial role in how users experience and evaluate visual communication. This study explores the influence of aesthetic elements—such as color, typography, composition, harmony, and visual rhythm—on the perception of functionality in graphic design products. Grounded in theories of visual perception, user-centered design, and image semiotics, the research examines the relationship between form and function, analyzing how aesthetic features enhance or hinder communicative effectiveness. The methodology combines visual case analysis and perceptual surveys with users to measure the correlation between aesthetic appreciation and perceived functionality. The findings are expected to demonstrate that a wellstructured aesthetic enhances credibility, clarity, and emotional engagement, proving that aesthetics is not merely decorative but a functional component in itself. This study contributes to developing a new design paradigm in which beauty and functionality coexist harmoniously to improve visual experience and effective communication
Promoting Cultural Identity Through Interactive Design
No full textThe use of interactive systems to promote cultural identity encompasses both the digital and tangible engagement of audiences with their heritage in active ways. This grabs hold of the notion that people are only passive receivers of information and even assists them in moving beyond that to understanding, relating to, and participating in culture, not just as observers but as guardians, thanks to interaction. Active Experiences That Immerse Users: Virtual and Augmented Reality (VR/AR): With these technologies, users can be taken to historical places virtually, “handle” ancient artifacts, or have digital information displayed on real-world as well as cultural landmarks. These make experiences culturally memorable and heritage accessible. Other examples include the virtual tours of museums, AR applications for life-sized historical character animations, and interactive timelines on monuments. Interactive Displays and Kiosks: Museums and culture centers have screen-based exhibits that provide not only basic information but an elaborate exposition of diverse aspects related to the exhibited object, including user-generated content through simulation. Gamification: Adding game features (competition, prizes, narratives) to cultural experiences, VR/AR-based, et al enhances appeal especially for youth segments. Traditions, events, and cultures can be taught through educational games easily, with a great impact on learners, Accessibility and Reach, Multilingual Support, Digital Preservation, Revitalization and Sustainability, and Sustainable Tourism. Essentially, interactive design is a potent instrument for bridging the gap between audiences of today and cultural heritage, making it more durable, dynamic, and relevant in a world growing more interconnected by the day
The Echo of Tradition: A Study of Albanian Domestic Life in Kosova (Late 19th-Mid 20th Century) and Its Impact on Contemporary Interior Design
No full textThis research explores how traditional Albanian domestic spaces in Kosova functioned, how cultural values and symbolic motifs shaped them, and if they continue to influence modern interior design to this day and age. The study researches the interior elements and everyday lives of Albanian households in Kosova from the late 1800s to the mid-1900s. We focused on handcrafted textiles, woodwork, and guest rooms. Through qualitative analysis and interviews, field research, and visual documentation, this study identifies aesthetic and functional purposes and practices and how they are being reinterpreted in contemporary design contexts. A highlight of this project is how the memory of tradition persists in the modern home, not only as nostalgia but also as an evolving design language and pride that balances heritage, innovation, and evolution
The Hall That Inspires – How Colours Affect the Psychology of Students in University Environments
No full textThe goal of this study is to look at how colours affect people\u27s minds, with an emphasis on the student union complex on a university campus. We selected this site due to its rich and diverse interior color schemes, which offer a visually engaging and varied environment for observation. This research also considers how factors like natural light, colour of furniture, and wall textures contribute to the overall atmosphere. By observing how students interact with and respond to different colour environments, we aim to gain a deeper understanding of the powerful ways colours can affect them mentally. The study\u27s conclusions could help people better understand how colours affect their emotions and help them make better choices about which colours to employ when creating rooms for specific purposes such as relaxation, focus, and social interaction
The Integration of Colour and Light Standards in Education and Industry in Kosovo
No full textColour perception and lighting circumstances are frequently approached subjectively and instinctively, resulting in mistakes and inconsistencies in design practice. Globally recognised standards, like ISO 3664 for standard illumination in graphics, ISO 13655 for spectrophotometric measurements, and the CIE guidelines for colour spaces, provide more precise and internationally comparable evaluations. Although these standards are essential in education and industry in industrialised nations, they are deficient in Kosovo at both the academic level and within accredited colour and light laboratories. The practical uses are extensive: verifying print proofs under D50 illumination, assessing fashion textiles to prevent metamerism, planning interior lighting in accordance with EN 12464-1, and employing UV lights to detect counterfeit documents. The integration of accredited standards in education not only increases the competence of students but also creates bridges of cooperation between education, industry, to increasing quality and export, and scientific research
Bridging Academia and Industry through Information Technology Training and Coaching
No full textHigher education institutions are increasingly required to act as dual hubs, combining the academic mission of knowledge creation with the practical demands of industry. This paper examines how Intelligent Information Systems (IS) can bridge academia and industry to strengthen employability and foster innovation. Drawing on three cases from UBT, the study highlights effective practices and challenges. The ALLED II Project integrated VR/AR technologies into schools, providing immersive learning and aligning digital education with labor market needs. The Digital Bootcamp offered intensive training in web design, ecommerce, and digital marketing, achieving high satisfaction rates and direct employability outcomes. The Mentorship and Coaching program for creative startups, supported by UNDP, enabled tailored one-on-one guidance, prototyping, and the development of sustainable business models. Lessons learned emphasize the need for continuous training, reliable infrastructure, hybrid learning methods, active industry participation, and tailored mentorship. The findings demonstrate that academia, industry partnerships, supported by intelligent systems, can significantly increase impact, accelerate innovation, and improve graduate employability

We discuss trends such as the integration of optical, wireless, and satellite technologies, and highlight enabling roles for AI, SDN, and edge computing. The role of digitalization and artificial intelligence in media
No full textThe digital journalism and the artificial intelligence or the technology has begun to develop a noticeable speed in all fields, but especially in the media. According to researchers and experts to the journalism, the digital journalism began sometime around the 1990s, while is the necessary condition for the functioning in its early days, so it was the computer, the electronic mail, but also the network in general. In recent years, journalism and the electronic media in general it has offered real and the good opportunities to inform the public, therefore journalists, but also readers, find it easier to read and engage, or their work, but I think, challenging both in the past and for the future, is the objective and subjective quality of the writings and also their convincing role for the public, who as a \u27media-newspaper\u27, \u27journalistwriter-reader\u27 or reader-journalist-writer as the body are independent, but there are also those who are not independent writer-journalist-reader and in the fact it should be completely independent. So, they should also be at a high ethical and professional level and that the entire media, or social body is free, reliable and acceptable, but also simultaneous with artificial intelligence. Anything that serves to convey a message from the sender to the receiver, in the case of journalism or from the journalist to the audience, is called a medium. Today, it is not entirely easy to clearly separate journalism from other actions in the media field, because there are no defining standards for posting on social media, or for the dissemination of information by ordinary citizens, but the difference lies in the standards by which a journalist reports. In this research paper I’II describe three essential issues: a. The comparatives of the weaknesses of physical or printed newspapers; b. The written media (poor language, and their challenges in selecting news 24/7; c. Society and their preparation for informative readability and the role of artificial intelligence
The role of online media in the process of population emigration ëith a focus on Albanians in the Presheva Valley
No full textEmigration is the process of population movement abroad. Emigration is a global phenomenon and is very current today. Recently, emigration has been developing for various reasons. The departure occurs to seek better conditions, whether for oneself or for the family, for the present, but mostly for a better future. With the progress of telecommunications, transport and technology in general, people move much faster and easier than before. In the last three decades, the countries of the Western Balkans have experienced a phenomenon of mass emigration. According to EUROSTAT, over 200,000 Kosovo citizens have sought refuge in European Union countries over the last five years, which accounts for more than 12% of the total population, Eurostat reports. There is no data on the number of people who have emigrated from the Presevo Valley. However, it is noticeable in the movements in the city and in the decrease in the number of classes and students in schools. In this process, the role of the media is irreplaceable. Social media was also used to seek additional information, to raise awareness. The media are opportunities that provide ample space for experts, government resources and other important factors in this process. Of course, advanced technological development influenced the media to have a role in this process. The objective of this publication is to analyze the role of the media in a positive and negative sense in the migration process. Several local portals were analyzed, as was their approach to the process in question. In the positive sense, it is intended to examine how much the media has influenced the provision of valuable information about this process. How much has it influenced the inhibition of this process? In the negative sense, it will be taken into account how much this process has been politicized by the media. It should be noted that the paper has a theoretical approach to the issue under consideration
The Perspective of Journalists and Media Managers in Kosovo
No full textIn Kosovo, a country with a complex political and social history, the media faces numerous challenges that affect its daily functioning. Journalists and media managers are the key actors in this industry, and their perspectives are essential for understanding the internal dynamics and challenges of the media landscape in Kosovo. This study aims to shed light on the experiences and opinions of these professionals by exploring how they perceive their roles and the challenges they encounter within an evolving media context. This Master’s-level research project seeks to investigate and analyze the perspectives of journalists and media managers in Kosovo by examining the challenges, opportunities, and various factors that shape the country’s media environment. Employing a mixed-methods approach that combines qualitative and quantitative methods, the study includes in-depth interviews and surveys with journalists and managers from different media organizations in Kosovo. The findings reveal that journalists often face political and economic pressures, while media managers struggle to secure financial resources and maintain editorial independence. The results also indicate an urgent need for structural reforms in the media sector to improve working conditions and ensure press freedom. In this regard, the study is significant as it provides a detailed overview of the current state of the media in Kosovo and contributes to the existing body of literature by offering policy and practice recommendations aimed at fostering a more sustainable and independent media environment
