SHOW DON’T TELL: ANALISIS ESTETIKA VISUAL STORYTELLING DALAM FILM THE BATMAN
Get PDFPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji penggunaan teknik Show Don’t Tell dalam film The Batman. Sebuah teknik yang menekankan penyampaian cerita secara tersirat melalui imaji-imaji visual. Dan dalam film The Batman, teknik ini dimanfaatkan secara maksimal dimana kolaborasi antara Sutradara dengan Sinematografer menghadirkan visual storytelling, sebuah bentuk visual yang tak hanya indah untuk dilihat, tapi juga membawa banyak makna serta cerita. Pelaksanaan penelitian dilakukan dengan mengkaji adegan-adegan dalam film The Batman yang benar-benar merepresentasikan teknik Show Don’t Tell. Untuk membantu proses pengkajian imaji-imaji visual dalam film, peneliti menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif deskriptif yang dilandasi oleh teori semiotika Roland Barthes agar diketahui pemaknaan dibalik imaji-imaji visual tersebut. Dengan begitu, diharapkan jurnal ini dapat membantu pembaca dalam menganalisis, mengkaji, serta menginterpretasi suatu pesan atau cerita tersirat yang direpresentasikan melalui visual dalam sebuah film, dan membantu pembaca untuk melihat film sebagai suatu hal yang lebih dari sekedar media hiburan semata
Application mediated communication: Panoptic surveillance in online transportation
Get PDFThis study aims to reveal conditions that have been neglected so far regarding the development of communication technology in online transportation. With a large number of partners, the company provides features to service users to provide an assessment of online motorcycle taxi drivers. Companies are no longer present to discipline their workers with strict regulations, but by using a panopticon monitoring system that is delegated to service users. This study uses a qualitative approach by conducting surveys and interviews with online motorcycle taxi drivers and users. The results of the participant interviews were then analyzed and supported by documentation studies originating from books, journals, and some data obtained from online media, or also known as data triangulation. The results of the study show that the panopticon system implemented by the company provides certainty of supervision so that it forms the discipline of those who are supervised by forming homogeneous behavior. The power relations that occur between companies and their partners place online motorcycle taxi drivers in a vulnerable position to symbolic violence through supervision.
ANALYSIS OF JAKARTA CHINESE’ UNDERSTANDINGS OF THE CHINA “FOUR GENTLEMEN”
Get PDFThe Four Gentlemen is one of the traditional Chinese cultures. It refers to plum blossoms, orchids, chrysanthemums, and bamboo. It symbolizes personality and character, represents integrity, modesty, purity, and integrity. Therefore they are called "Four Gentlemen in Flowers" or "Four Gentlemen". Regarding the reservation of the Four Gentlemen of Chinese Plants, the author found that some Chinese in Jakarta still use the plants or ornaments of the Four Gentlemen in special festivals, for example: placing plum blossom ornaments at home during the Chinese New Year, hoping to get the wish of happiness, joy, and success. In order to obtain a more accurate survey analysis, the author conducted a survey of 150 Jakarta Chinese people. The survey results show that the Jakarta Chinese from three ages do not have a good understanding of the “Four Gentlemen”, especially the young people, but the older people are still relatively high in retention. ANALYSIS OF CHINESE-INDONESIAN TRANSLATION TECHNIQUE IN DAAI TV’S “MASTER ZHENGYAN TELLS STORIES” PROGRAM
Get PDFAs one of the main forms of film and television translation, the quality of subtitles has attracted people's attention. This study selects 15 stories from "Master Zheng Yan Tells Stories", and the research type of this study belongs to the mixed methods research. The use of qualitative analysis is to analyze, summarize, and count the frequency of translation skills and problems in "Master Zhengyan Tells Stories" applied in "Master Zhengyan Tells Stories". According to the statistical results, from the 15 stories in "Master Zhengyan Tells Stories", the frequency of literal translation is higher than other translation techniques, accounting for 34.1% in total, 14.1% for free translation, 26.3% for reduction, and 25.4% for augmentation translation, and the least is the substitution technique, accounting for only 0.06%. Secondly, there are also some errors in the subtitles that make it difficult for the audience to understand the content, and these translation errors are vocabulary errors and sentence errors. As a result, the frequency of lexical errors is relatively high, accounting for 1.08% in total, while sentence errors only account for 0.9%
FUNCTIONS OF SPEECH ACTS IN AUSTRALIAN MINISTER OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS SPEECH AT UNGA
Get PDFSometimes, politicians may use speech acts in their political speeches that the audience may interpret in a variety of ways. Speech acts are used when a speaker expresses words or phrases to achieve specified objectives and it relates to pragmatics in some way. This research aims to find the most dominant and the functions of illocutionary acts found in Australian Minister of Foreign Affairs speech at UNGA. The theory used was from Searle and it was found that there were four illocutionary acts in the speech, namely representative, commissive, directive, and expressive. It was found that representative was the most dominant type of act in the speech. It occurred 54 times to inform and state the current condition and issues of the world. The second was commissive with 23 occurences, followed by directive with 14 occurences, and expressive with 6 occurences. While declarative was not found because there was not any declaration that could change the current condition.
Peranan E-Service Quality dan E-Marketing Mix sebagai Penentu Kepuasan dan Loyalitas Pelanggan di Industri E-Commerce Indonesia
Get PDFThe role of E-S-Qual scale on e-service quality variables can be used to measure the quality of services provided by Tokopedia toward customer and the e-marketing mix variabel can be used by organizational management so that they can win the competition in digital sales through e-commerce. Therefore, this research was conducted to analyze the role of e-service quality and e-marketing mix that can create customer satisfied and loyal. The sample was selected based on non-probability sampling technique and 373 people were selected as respondents. Data from filling out the questionnaire was processed using the structural model equation method with AMOS 26 software.The results of the study stated that the direct effect of e-service quality was positive and significant on e-satisfaction and e-loyalty. The direct influence of the e-marketing mix variable which is positive and significant is only obtained on its relationship with the e-satisfaction variable. Pengaruh Dukungan Sosial Orang Tua Terhadap Student Well-Being Pada Siswa SMA di Kota Padang
Get PDFTujuan dari penelitian ini ialah untuk melihat apakah terdapat pengaruh dukungan sosial orang tua terhadap student well-being pada siswa SMA di Kota Padang. Metode penelitian pada penelitian ini adalah metode kuantitatif dengan desain korelasi sebab-akibat. Jumlah sampel sebanyak 415 orang siswa SMA di Kota Padang dengan teknik pengambilan sampel yaitu two-stage cluster random sampling. Pengumpulan data menggunakan modifikasi skala dukungan sosial orang tua yang dibuat oleh Selindia (2021) (α = .955) dan modifikasi skala student well-being yang dibuat oleh Fadhilah (2019) (α = .915). Hasil pada penelitian ini membuktikan bahwa adanya pengaruh dukungan sosial orang tua terhadap student well-being pada siswa SMA di Kota Padang (p < .05), semakin tinggi dukungan sosial maka semakin tinggi student well-being, begitu juga sebaliknya. Adapun nilai sumbangan efektif (R2) sebesar 0.322. Sehingga dukungan sosial orang tua memberikan pengaruh sebesar 32% terhadap student well-being pada siswa SMA di Kota Padang

Tentunya industri perhotelan tidak dapat dipisahkan dari perkembangan restoran yang berkaitan di dalamnya. Restoran menjadi salah satu tempat untuk memenuhi kebutuhan pelayanan akan makan dan minum bagi konsumen ketika menginap di hotel. Pada dasarnya persediaan dapat digunakan untuk memperlancar operasional produksi perusahaan tersebut. Dalam berjalannya operasional produksi perusahaan persediaan menjadi salah satu unsur penting di dalamnya yang diperoleh secara berkala, diolah dan kemudian akan dijual kembali. Dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kuantitatif deskriptif dengan pengumpulan data berupa kuesioner, wawancara dan observasi, kemudian pengolahan datanya menggunakan analisis regresi linier sederhana, uji koefisien determinasi, uji T dan uji F. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dan olah data, maka diperoleh hasil antara persediaan bahan baku makanan terhadap persiapan proses produksi di Harris Vertu Hotel Harmoni Jakarta terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan baik secara parsial maupun simultan dengan pengaruh sebesar 58,6%. Get PDFKesehatan merupakan salah satu aset yang berharga pada kehidupan seseorang, karena kesehatan berhubungan dengan semua segi sisi kehidupan manusia baik.Di Indonesia banyak penyakit yang bisa menjadikan kematian bagi yang mengidapnya, seperti TBC, dan Penyakit Diabetes. Salah satu contoh penyakit yang diambil penulis ialah dari Penyakit Diabetes Melitus. Diabetes Melitus ialah suatu penyakit kronis yang ditandai dengan kadar glukosa darah yang melebihi normal. Kurangnya media informasi menjadi kendala atau masalah yang dihadapi bagi mereka yang menderita penderita diabetes atau yang bahkan beberapa pasien tidak mengetahui bahwa mereka terkena penyakit diabetes saat usia dini. Maka, tujuan dibuatnya perancangan ini untuk menghasilkan rancangan berupa buku informasi dalam bentuk media utamanya. Metode penelitian yang dipakai dalam penelitian ini menggunakan deskriptif kualitatif. Penelitian deskriptif kualitatif bertujuan untuk menggambarkan, melukiskan, menerangkan, menjelaskan dan menjawab secara lebih rinci permasalahan yang akan diteliti dengan mempelajari semaksimal mungkin seorang individu. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode pengumpulan kepustakaan dan penyebaran angket serta observasi yang dilakukan di toko buku untuk meneliti buku infromasi mengenai diabetes melitus. Metode perancangan pada penelitian ini menggunakan metode design thinking yang digunakan untuk mencari solusi dengan berpikir kreatif dan proses yang dilakukan berulang pada kegagalan yang dihadapi sehingga menciptakan karya yang inovasi. Konsep visual buku informasi ini sederhana namun tetap terlihat elegan dan modern serta didukung dengan ilustrasi yang dapat menjual buku ini. Perancangan buku informasi ini diharapkan dapat memberikan informasi serta pengetahuan kepada masyarakat mengenai penyakit diabetes melitus di Indonesia
