The Negligence of Conservation and Environmental Communication in the Nature Tourism and Adventure Programs on Television
Nature tourism and adventure program is one of the most popular programs on Indonesian television. However, these kinds of programs were often ignoring the environmental aspects. As a result, conservation issues were neglected because the main purpose of the program was only to show the audience the luxury of the trip. One of the cases could be seen on “The Beautiful Adventurers” program on Trans7, which was aired on Sunday, April 22nd, 2018. This particular episode showed the hosts were consuming a “Kima”, a kind of giant clams that is protected by the law. Harsh criticism from environmental activists spread on social media, even before the show ended. This study took this incident with an explanatory case study method to analyze it from the perspective of environmental communication. The results showed that the crew did not have awareness about the conservation issues and was more attracted by the tour guides’ persuasion rather than following the regulations that have been established both by the Government and the international conventions. This study suggests Indonesian Broadcasting Commission include conservation material in the Broadcasting Standard Guidelines to persuade more specific regulation for similar programs on Indonesian televisions that support environmental communication and natural resource preservation

The Place of Democratic Education in Selected Philippine Public Junior High Schools
The research looked into the beliefs and practices of social studies teachers in selected Philippine public junior high schools and the factors that hindered teachers from practicing democratic classroom approaches. The handling of social studies classroom is deemed crucial especially for a nation that has been divided by two opposing versions of history. The study found that the social studies teachers believed and practiced teacher-centered approach and managed their classes using behavioristic methods, utilizing punishment and reward system. The teachers preferred traditional paper-and-pencil tests. The lack of meaningfulness of classroom activity and democratic engagement in the classroom was brought about by the teachers limited conceptions of learner-centered approaches. The teachers needed more training and feedback on their implementation of the K-to-12 program’s emphasis on constructivist teaching approach. An important issue that needed to be addressed by the Philippine Department of Education is the one raised by the teachers regarding the social studies curriculum. They deem that the Philippine History is necessary to be tackled among the more mature junior high school students compared to the elementary students

Multiculturalism Practices Associated with the Production of Batik in Lasem - Indonesia
This article reports the research on the dynamic relations between Chinese and natives regarding cultural production in the field of batikart in Lasem – Rembang, Indonesia. The word “field” as used in this context is traced to Bourdieu (1993, 2005), who defined field as a "system of relationships" in which actors interact dynamically to produce nonmaterial cultural products (systems of ideas, value, symbolic system) and material products (art, architecture), in this case batik art. This research aims to unveil how multicultural practices take place in the process of batikart. Through the ethnographic method of batikproduction process at a batikindustrial centre known as Rumah Batik Sekar Kencana in Karangturi Village, Lasem, the researchers traced the dynamics of the native – non-native relation that took place in this process and followed it to understand how batikas a cultural product was born in Lasem. This research finds that batik can be seen as a relatively autonomous cultural production field that has its own logic, and the practice forms a delicate social fabric that leads to the achievement of certain goals. The achievement of goals involving Javanese batikmakers, Chinese owners, and Javanese religious leaders shows how multicultural practices have taken place in Lasem not only at the level of ideas but also at the level of material culture.

The Impact of International Agreements on Indigenous People In Indonesia
Inter-state relations and interdependence, whether economic, political, defence, etc., are essentialfor the welfare of the citizens of a state. The implementation of inter-state relations is done by using international agreements betweena country and othercountriesorinternational organisations andmust be subject tointernational law. Foreign investment has a great influence on the economic growth of a country and is a determinant factor for the growth and welfare of the society. However, with respect to foreign investment issues, indigenous and tribal peoples are marginalized when dealing with rulers as well as foreign businessmen (foreign investors). As a result, the opportunity forindigenous peoples to participate in public decisions on economic, socio-cultural and political issues that affect their existence is limited. Nonetheless, law enforcement and investment policies should be aimed at financing the development and welfare of the people, and foreign investments should only be viewedas a complement and should neither be allowed tocause disharmony nor harm the rights of citizens and the national interests.
