    A Complete Arduino-Based Mathematical Pendulum Experiment Tool with Real-Time Data Acquisition Using an Excel Spreadsheet

    It is very important for students to understand the concept of simple harmonic motion, such as a mathematical pendulum. Students need an experiment tool on mathematical pendulums that is capable of providing measurement results of various physical quantities of mathematical pendulums accurately and precisely. This research aims to (1) describe the specifications of an Arduino-based mathematical pendulum experiment tool, (2) describe the results of measurements of acceleration due to gravity, and (3) describe the effect of changes in deviation on the period at small angles. This research used the experiment method. The research results showed that (1) the Arduino-based mathematical pendulum experiment device is equipped with an HC-SR04 ultrasonic sensor to measure the length of the string and an FC-51 infrared sensor to measure the period with a precision of 94.9% and accuracy of 99%, (2) the average result of acceleration due to gravity measurements at various string length was (9.72 ± 0.19) m/s2,and (3) the mathematical pendulum period between angles of 1-13 degrees did not show a significant difference, showing that at small angles, the oscillation period is not affected by deviation

    The Design and Validation of the Four Tier Test Instrument for Energy Literacy Using the Rasch Model Analysis

    The science education curriculum needs to contain content on environmental issues including energy and its use as an effort to equip prospective physics teacher students with knowledge about the importance of reducing the impact of energy use. For this reason, it is important to measure energy literacy knowledge in prospective physics teacher students. This study aims to design and validate a four-tier test instrument to measure the energy literacy knowledge of prospective physics teacher students. The test instrument format used is a four-tier test. This test model has the advantage of being able to capture more accurate information with various answer patterns. The stages of developing this test used the design-based research model which consisted of five stages, namely developing an assessment framework, designing items, developing rubrics, conducting tests, and applying the Racsh Model analysis. The application of the Racsh Model analysis aims to obtain a valid and reliable test instrument with the Item Response Theory (IRT) approach assisted by the Winsteps program. The research method used is a descriptive-exploratory method to describe the results of the development and validation of the Four Tier test to measure Energy Literacy for prospective physics teacher student. The validation of the test was carried out through an assessment by five experts to assess the construct and content of the test instrument. The results of the item validation showed that the questions were acceptable in all aspects. The conclusion is that the test with four-tier format is suitable for identifying the knowledge of prospective physics teacher students about Energy Literacy. The four tier test model in exploring the energy literacy abilities of prospective teacher students can basically also be applied to students at the elementary school, middle school and high school levels. However, the complexity of the content tested needs to be adjusted to the existing curriculum at each level

    The Use of Inquiry-Based Mobile Pocket Book on Students’ Knowledge Based on Critical Thinking Skills on Global Warming

    The purpose of this study was to analyze: (1) differences in the effect of using learning media mobile pocket book and electronic book on student knowledge learning outcomes on Global Warming material, (2) differences in the effect of critical thinking skills with high and low categories on student knowledge learning outcomes on Global Warming material, (3) interaction between learning media mobile pocket book and electronic book with critical thinking skills on student knowledge learning outcomes on Global Warming material. This study used a quasi-experimental method with a sample of grade XI students’ divided into two classes. The data analysis technique used was Kruskal-Wallis Test. The results showed: (1) there is a difference in the effect of using learning media mobile pocket book and electronic book on student knowledge learning outcomes, (2) there is no difference in the effect of critical thinking skills with high and low categories on student knowledge learning outcomes on Global Warming material, (3) there is an interaction between learning media mobile pocket book and electronic book with critical thinking skills on student knowledge learning outcomes on Global Warming material

    Development of Simple Boyle's Law Practicum Equipment to Train Science Process Skills

    This research aims to develop a simple Boyle's law practicum equipment that can be used to train science process skills in learning the concept of Boyle's law in schools. This research uses the Design and Development Research development model adapted from Richey and Klien with stages namely analyze, design, development, and evaluation.. The practicum equipment developed is declared feasible to use if it has passed the validity test and practicality assessment.. The validity test obtained a percentage of 88% with a very valid category.. Practicality assessment is represented through teacher perception, students response, and analysis of science process skills.. The results of teacher perception obtained a percentage of 83% with a very practical category. The results of students' responses obtained a percentage of 90% with a very practical category. The analysis of science process skills obtained a percentage of 87% with a very good category. Based on the validity test and practicality assessment that has been carried out, it can be concluded that the practicum equipment developed is suitable to be applied to train science process skills in learning the concept of Boyle's law in schools

    Analysis of Technological Pedagogical And Content Knowledge Teachers physics Overcoming Misconceptions Newton's Law

    Misconceptions in students must be corrected immediately so that there is no retention of misconceptions in subsequent knowledge. One way to prevent and reduce misconceptions that occur in students is with the ability of Technological Pedagogical and Content Knowledge (TPACK) of teachers. Teachers who integrate TPACK in learning can prevent misconceptions and find solutions to overcome the misconceptions that occur. This study aims to determine the TPACK ability of teachers in overcoming misconceptions,. The research method used in this study is a Mixed method with an unbalanced mixed research design (Concurrent Embedded design). The results showed that the teacher's TPACK ability can improve students' concept understanding. This is indicated by the N-Gain score= 0.72, which means that the teacher's TPACK ability is effective in improving concept understanding on newton's law material

    Global Warming E-Worksheet Integrated with PhET Interactive Simulations: It is Effective to Enhance Students’ Critical Thinking Skills?

    The aims of this research is to determine the effectiveness of the global warming e-worksheet using Liveworksheet integrated with PhET interactive simulations to improve students’ critical thinking skills. The independent variable is the use of a global warming e-worksheet integrated with PhET interactive simulations, while the dependent variable is the critical thinking skill (analyze the facts, formulate the main problem, interpreting, and summarizing). This research used a pre-experimental type, with a one-group pretest-posttest research design. At SMAN 4 Yogyakarta, 70 students in the 10th grade participated in the cluster random sampling technique. Criteria for measuring critical thinking skills were objective questions. Then, using SPSS, descriptive statistics, n-gain tests, and one-way ANOVA were used to examine the results. Results showed that the students' critical thinking skills were significantly enhanced by the global warming e-worksheet integrated with PhET interactive simulations. This points out that using electronic physics learning materials and integrating technology has a positive effect on improving cognitive skills. Students learn content during the learning process, but they also gain a deeper understanding of the material by using simulations that are based on real-world problems and scientific principles to complete e-worksheets

    The Open-Ended Approach For Optimizing Students’ Mathematical Abilities: Does It Work? (A Meta-Analysis Study)

    This study aims to analyze the potential of applying an open-ended approach to students' math skills which contains five skills namely problem-solving, reasoning and proof, representation, communication, and connection. To really know the potential for this application to be effective, statistical analysis is needed so that more objective conclusions can be obtained. Therefore, this study used quantitative as research approach using the Meta-Analysis method. The primary studies obtained were quasi-experimental studies that examined the effect of the open-ended implementation on mathematical skills with a total of 32 articles. The articles were published from 2012 to 2023 on Google Scholar database, Semantic Scholar, and direct URL. This study provides results that the treatment effect of the open-ended approach to mathematical skill has a high effect size of 1.356 and the moderator variable that affects the heterogeneity of the study is the type of mathematical skill, which is most effective on mathematical representation skill. While the level of education and learning combination did not significantly influence the heterogeneity of the effect size.

    Developing Engaging Audio-Visual Learning Media for Basic Locomotor Patterns through Play-Based Activities for Early Learners

    This research aims to develop interactive learning media for physical education, sports and health, based on audio-visual, basic pattern motion materials based on games in elementary schools in Phase A. Based on the researcher's observation, there has been no development of audio-visual learning media at the Phase A level on locomotor motion materials, so the researcher tries to present learning media that is adapted to the Independent curriculum as a solution students who still have shortcomings, such as students' understanding of basic movement materials that are not optimal.  This type of research is Research and Development (R&D) using the ADDIE development model, which consists of 5 development steps, namely Analyze,  Design, Development, Implementation  and Evaluation. This research was assisted by 3 validators. The instrument used in this study is a validation sheet. The data analysis technique uses a scoring scale and a percentage range.From the research that has been carried out, it is found that the validity of the media developed has a percentage of 92.5% with a very feasible classification. Then for the student response, which is 97.92%, with that the audio-visual learning media in PE learning is a game-based basic locomotor movement pattern material at the phase A elementary school level

    Mathematics Problem Solving Ability In Pontianak Private High School Level Quiziz Game

    The ability to solve mathematical problems on Quizzizz illustrates that the data obtained from this research is used as a reference in writing reports. Learning through quizizz can also make students' motivation higher because the games played can be varied using game techniques. To keep up with existing developments, the ability to solve mathematical problems on Quizizz is seen from how high, medium and low ability is. This research describes abilities of Pontianak Private High School students in the context of using the Quizizz application as a learning medium. With a descriptive qualitative approach, this research involved students from a private high school in Pontianak who were given Quizizz as an assessment in mathematics learning. Data was obtained through direct observation, interviews, and giving Quizizz to students. The results of the data obtained were that high problem solving ability was 14.28%, medium ability was 48.57%, and low ability was 37.14%. The research results show that using Quizizz can improve students. Data analysis revealed three categories of problem solving ability, namely high, medium and low, based on the results of working on Quizizz. Likewise, planning problem solving plays a vital role in improving problem solving abilities. Students with high abilities are able to motivate themselves, while students with moderate abilities need a planning and motivation process to achieve high abilities.Applying design in problem solving is also a determining factor. Students with high abilities can implement designs well, requiring collaboration of understanding and ideas. Meanwhile, students with moderate abilities need designs that are strong in ideas. This category is described through the stages of problem solving, including understanding the problem, planning a solution, implementing the design, and checking again. So Quizizz is here to get rid of the threat of students solving mathematical problems

    Optimising Fraction Operation Skills with Shaded Level Board for Elementary School Students (Project Based Learning, Course Review Horay and Teams Games Tournament)

    One of the problems in this study is the low active participation of students in learning activities, low student creativity, and low student understanding of mathematics concepts, which results in poor learning outcomes. As a result of these problems, students experienced a decline in activity, creativity, and overall learning outcomes. This study aims to evaluate students' activity, creativity and learning achievement in grade V of SDN Pelambuan 1 Banjarmasin. The study also shows how the teacher handles the multiplication and division of fractions material. This study used the classroom action research or PTK method with qualitative and quantitative approaches for data collection and data analysis. In the 2023/2024 academic year, 28 Class V students. Quantitative data came from written exams conducted by students and teacher activities during class. The results showed that the project-based learning model, Horay Course Review, and Teams Games Tournament were acceptable. Teacher activity at the last meeting reached the "Very Good" criteria, student activity at the last meeting reached 93% in the "Very Active" criteria, and student creativity reached 89% in the "Very Creative" criteria
