A Simple Photovoltaic Experiment for Measuring Planck’s Constant Using Colour Lasers

    Get PDF
The photovoltaic experiment provided a simple, affordable method to determine Planck’s constant through empirical learning. This experiment allowed students to present concrete data using easily available, low-cost materials. The experiment utilised a photovoltaic method, employing a simple, self-designed setup that used three laser pointers with wavelengths of 650nm (red), 535nm (green), and 405nm (blue) as independent variables. A 6V, 1W mini solar cell was used as the target, while the speed of light and electron charge were treated as control variables. The laser pointers were powered by a 3V battery. The data were analysed by plotting the relationship between 1/λ (inverse wavelength) and the measured voltage as the dependent variable. A linear regression analysis was performed to obtain the gradient, which was used to calculate Planck’s constant. The experiment yielded a calculated Planck’s constant of 7.09×10-35Js, with a deviation of 5.69 x 10-34Js, resulting in a relative error of 8.89%. This relative error could be attributed to several factors, including refraction effects caused by the glass layer and adhesive used to protect the semiconductor plate of the solar cell, as well as discrepancies between the actual wavelengths of the laser beams and the labelled wavelengths on the laser pointers

Lexical Density: Comparative Analysis of "Amboyo" and "Dayakng Janjola" in Dayak Kanayatn Language

    Get PDF
This study analyzes linguistic and cultural transformations in the Dayak Kanayatn community by a quantitative assessment of lexical density. This research posits that an analysis of lexical density can indicate quantifiable changes between traditional and current songs, mirroring broader cultural evolution. The research contrasts two significant musical artifacts: the traditional religious song "Amboyo," integral to the Naik Dango harvest ceremony, and the contemporary popular song "Dayakng Janjola," which embodies modern expression. This study utilizes the methodology proposed by Ure (1971) to calculate lexical density, thereby evaluating the proportion of meaningful (lexical) words relative to the total word count in the lyrics of the two songs. The results demonstrate that "Amboyo" comprises a substantially greater number of words than "Dayakng Janjola." The results indicate a linguistic transformation in Dayak Kanayatn music, shifting from a medium for conveying profound narratives, mythological, and cosmological information to a vehicle for immediate emotional expression, entertainment, and social connectivity. The study indicates that variations in lexical density represent not only a linguistic phenomena but also a quantitative reflection of language evolution, cultural transmission, and identity formation within the contemporary Dayak Kanayatn group.

    Get PDF
This article presents a systematic literature review (SLR) on concept understanding in physics learning. The method used in reviewing the literature is the SLR and PRISMA protocol with the stages of identification, screening, eligibility, inclusion, abstraction, and data analysis assisted using the Mendeley and VOSviewer applications. The findings of this study explain that there are still many difficulties, such as calculating in unsymmetrical field source distributions, such as two opposing point charges or currents, and misconceptions such as electricity and magnetism experienced by students and college students that affect students' understanding of concepts in physics learning. The challenges and misconceptions can be overcome by using various treatments, such as providing test instruments that can measure student understanding, developing conceptual models, and using virtual practicum activities. Future research needs to explore students' conceptual understanding of physics learning by using other topics that previous research has not studied
