Developing Authentic Assessment Instrument on Short Story Appreciation and Production for Senior High School Students
Get PDFThis study was conducted as the follow-up action toward the result of a preliminary study which showed that Indonesian Language teachers in Senior High School (mentioned as “SMA”) YPI Tunas Bangsa Palembang had not yet implemented any standardized, objective, accurate nor appropriate assessment instruments as demanded by the 2013 curriculum. Based on this problem, the research question in this study was “How are teachers’ necessities of an authentic assessment instrument to assess understanding on the short stories production and appreciation in SMA YPI Tunas Bangsa Palembang?”. This study employed the research and development method adapted from the one proposed by Akker which consisted of several steps: (1) analysis, (2) design, (3) evaluation, and the one by Tessmer: (1) self-evaluation, (2) expert judgment, (3) one-to-one, (4) small group, (5) revision, and (6) field test. The implementation of the authentic assessment for short stories production and appreciation was analyzed by using the inter-rater agreement. The inter-rater reliability was measured using the Cronbach’s Alfa. The data were also analyzed using the SPSS 16 program which resulted to a level of significance at 0.5. Therefore, it is found that the evaluation given by the experts and the respondents reached a similar perception. Based on the result of the Cronbach’s Alpha test, a value of 0.99 was obtained above 0.70 which implies that the authentic assessment instruments developed in this study are highly reliable

The instrument have been developed to conduct the experiment to provide raw data sample to doing practical analyzing using Rasch model in this research. The first part of this research will explain definition of the quality assurance and Rasch model analysis. The second part of this research will show introduction analysis using Rasch model to analysis sample data. The third part of this research will show a brief summary of the result and important finding in evaluation of higher assurance. Analyzing data of evaluation quality assurance using Rasch model will help higher educational institutions to increase and develop their quality assurance to be better higher educational institution
THE EFFECT OF INSTRUCTIONAL APPROACH AND VERBAL REASONING ON STUDENTS’ SCIENTIFIC WRITING ABILITY
Get PDFThe objective of this research is to find out the difference between instructional approaches and verbal reasoning on students’ scientific writing ability. It was conducted at Indonesian Language Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, University of PGRI Palembang. This research employed the experimental method using 2x2 factorial Anova test, with 43 students chosen randomly through multi-stage sampling technique. The results of this research indicate that: (1) the group of students taught with the contextual teaching and learning (CTL) approach has better than taught with the conventional one; (2) the group of high-level verbal reasoning students taught with CTL approach has better than taught with the conventional one; (3) the group of low-level verbal reasoning students taught with the CTL approach has lower than taught with the conventional one; (4) there is an interaction effect between instructional approach and the level of verbal reasoning on students’ scientific writing ability
Wujud Peralihan Kode dalam Peristiwa Tutur Informal Masyarakat Multietnis di STKIP Singkawang Kalimantan Barat
Get PDFKeberagaman etnis pada masyarakat multilingual di STKIP Singkawang dapat mengakibatkan adanya kontak bahasa. Masing-masing etnis yang berada di lingkungan sekolah tinggi tersebut memiliki kode tutur yang berbeda-beda. Perbedaan kode tutur tersebut akan dapat memengaruhi jalannya proses pertuturan. Hal inilah yang terjadi pada masyarakat multilingual di STKIP Singkawang Kalimantan Barat. Masyarakat multilingual di STKIP Singkawang terdiri dari dua etnis besar, yaitu etnis Melayu Sambas dan etis Dayak Kanayatn dan dua etnis kecil, yaitu etnis Jawa dan Madura. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menemukan dan menjelaskan wujud alih kode dan menemukan dan menjelaskan faktor-faktor alih kode. Data dalam penelitian ini adalah penggalan tuturan pada tuturan informal masyarakat multilingual di STKIP Singkawang. Data dikumpulkan melalui dua metode yaitu, metode simak dan metode cakap. Metode simak menggunakan teknik dasar yaitu teknik sadap. Teknik lanjutan dari metode simak dalam penelitian ini adalah simak bebas libat cakap, teknik rekan dan teknik catat. Selanjutnya, untuk metode cakap menggunakan teknik dasar yaitu teknik pancing. Teknik lanjutan dari metode cakap yaitu, teknik cakap semuka, teknik rekam dan teknik catat. Untuk menganalisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode padan dengan alat penentu adalah bahasa lain. Simpulan dari penelitian mengenai alih kode dan campur kode pada tuturan informal masyarakat multilingual di STKIP Singkawang adalah sebagai berikut. Wujud alih kode yaitu alih kode internal. Alih kode internal yang terjadi adalah alih kode dari kode tutur Melayu Sambas ke kode tutur Indonesia, alih kode dari kode tutur Dayak Kanayatn ke kode tutur Indonesia, dari kode tutur Indonesia ke kode tutur Melayu Sambas, dan dari kode tutur Indonesia ke kode tutur Dayak Kanayatn. Kemudian untuk faktor-faktor penyebab alih kode terdiri dari lima faktor yang menjadi penyebab timbulya alih kode. Adapun kelima faktor tersebut meliputi (1) penutur, (2) mitra tutur, (3) hadirnya orang ketiga dalam pertuturan, (4) pokok pembicaraan, dan (5) untuk membangkitkan rasa humor

TINGKAT PENGETAHUAN SISWA KELAS X SMK MUHAMMADIYAH 02 WEDI KABUPATEN KLATEN DALAM MITIGASI BENCANA GEMPA BUMI

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui tingkat pengetahuan siswa kelas X SMK Muhammadiyah 02 Wedi dalam mitigasi bencana gempa bumi yang dilakukan oleh siswa kelas X di SMK Muhammadiyah 02 Wedi Kabupaten Klaten. Populasi kelas X di SMK Muhammadiyah 02 Wedi adalah 105 siswa dan jumlah sampel yang diambil dalam penelitian ini adalah 78 siswa dengan taraf kesalahan 10% (Sugiyono, 2010. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif dengan menggunakan perhitungan presentase. Pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah Simple Random Sampling, yaitu teknik pengambilan sampel secara undian (acak). Teknik pengambilan sampel untuk mengetahui mitigasi non struktural dalam menghadapi bencana gempa bumi yang dilakukan oleh siswa kelas X SMK Muhammadiyah 02 Wedi adalah Snowball Sampling. Jumlah sampel untuk mengetahui mitigasi non struktural dalam menghadapi bencana gempa bumi yang dilakukan oleh siswa kelas X SMK Muhammadiyah 02 Wedi adalah 9 siswa. Pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan angket dan wawancara.Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa tingkat pengetahuan siswa kelas X baik kelas X.A, X.B maupun kelas X.C menunjukan tingkat pengetahuan cukup dalam mitigasi bencana gempa bumi sedangkan hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa mitigasi non struktural yang dilakukan di sekolah SMK Muhammadiyah 02 Wedi dilakukan oleh orang lain bukan siswa akan tetapi siswa sudah mengetahui tujuan dilakukannya mitigasi non struktural di sekolah
Pengembangan Buku Petunjuk Praktikum Fisika: Pengujian Jenis Kawat Konduktor Komersial
Get PDFPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan buku petunjuk praktikum fisika pengujian jenis kawat konduktor komersial serta mengetahui kelayakan dan respon mahasiswa terhadap buku petunjuk praktikum fisika pengujian jenis kawat konduktor komersial. Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian pengembangan atau R & D (Research and Development) yang dimodifikasi dari Sugiyono. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Fisika STKIP Singkawang dengan mahasiswa program studi Pendidikan Fisika dan dosen pengampu mata kuliah listrik magnet sebagai subyek penelitian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan buku petunjuk praktikum fisika pengujian jenis kawat konduktor komersial yang dihasilkan memiliki kriteria “Sangat Layak” berdasarkan penilaian dari ahli materi dengan persentase mencapai 90,00%, penilaian dari ahli media dengan persentase mencapai 95,00%, dan penilaian akhir dosen pengampu mata kuliah listrik magnet dengan persentase mencapai 86,76%. Buku petunjuk praktikum fisika mendapat respon “Sangat baik” dari mahasiswa dengan persentase mencapai 76% pada uji coba terbatas I dan mencapai 80% pada uji coba terbatas II
The Development of Multicultural Education Model in West Kalimantan
Get PDFThis study background is from the history of West Kalimantan as an area that has the potential for violent conflict in the name of ethnicity. This potential is supported by the shift of the demographic map, from homogeneous to heterogeneous society. Segregation population continues to occur when the autonomous regions were accompanied by a local election. At the beginning of this year, for example, we were struck increased intolerance. The potential of violent conflict continues to arise in every operation of the democratic party at the local level. To determine the potential of multi-cultural knowledge in students, the authors conducted research on the two schools with different types of contrast. The research was carried out for two months with ethnographic methods. The author conducted in-depth interviews as well in addition to observation and review of the literature. These results indicate that teens from both schools studied generally have a multicultural knowledge is still relatively low, but they want to learn the culture of the ethnic other. Multicultural education in adolescents (students) is influenced by two factors: internal factors (instrumental) and external factors (environmental). The instrumental factors, among others: the teens themselves, teachers, family, and peers, whereas environmental factors, among others, media, and government (policy). Another important finding is that regional autonomy could be access for schools in encouraging alternative education models as a result of their creative efforts into spaces of democracy and pluralism in schools. Relations between the school through the activities of the organization-Students' Union (OSIS) can be a bridge multicultural adolescent relationships in these two schools.
