Kerajaan Allah dan Transformasi Sosial: Dialetika Kedatangan Kerajaan Allah dan Implikasi Masa Kini
Full text linkAbstract. Discourses concerning the dialectical coming of the Kingdom of God in Christian theology are debatbale, including its time and relationship to the present. This study focuses to find a connection between the dialectic of the Kingdom of God and social transformation, and its implications to the present. In reaching that goal, the Indicative-Imperative method in bibilical ethics is applied. It means that the works and the will of God become the indicative, and the God’s commands or men’s responsibilities become the the imperative. Based on this research, Christian ethics is performed not only as hope and anticipation to the coming of the Kingdom but also as respond and participaton to the Kingdom’s mission. There is a close connection between the Kingdom of God and social transformation. Therefore, the church can perform the Kingdom’s mission in the world as an agent of social transformation.Abstrak. Wacana tentang dialektika kedatangan Kerajaan Allah dalam teologi Kristen mengandung perdebatan, baik terkait waktu kedatangan maupun kaitannya dengan kehidupan saat ini. Fokus tulisan ini adalah meneliti kaitan antara dialektika Kerajaan Allah dan transformasi sosial dan implikasinya bagi kehidupan masa kini. Dalam rangka itu penulis menggunakan pendekatan Indikatif-Imperatif dalam etika Alkitab. Pendekatan ini menjadikan tindakan dan kehendak Allah sebagai indikatif, dan perintah Allah atau tanggung jawab manusia sebagai imperatifnya. Kajian ini menunjukkan bahwa etika Kristen dilakukan bukan hanya sebagai harapan dan antisipasi terhadap datangnya Kerajaan Allah, melainkan juga sebagai respons dan partisipasi terhadap misi Kerajaan Allah. Ada kaitan erat antara Kerajaan Allah dan transformasi sosial. Oleh karena itu, gereja dapat menjalankan misi Kerajaan Allah di dunia sebagai agen transformasi sosial
Axiological Study of Christian Teachers As Role Model in Providing Motivation for Students
Full text linkExtrinsic motivation is an important factor in learning. However, many teachers have not been able to provide proper motivation by giving negative labeling to students. This happens because the teacher does not yet have the proper axiological foundation in viewing students as the image and likeness of God. Therefore, the aim of this study is to analyze the axiological study of the teacher's role as a role model in providing motivation for students. The method used is a literature study. The result of the study showed that the Christian teacher needs to live up to the values in the Bible so that the teacher has the basic values of correct behaviour, namely the Word of God. Teachers must also imitate Christ because He is the perfect role model for humans
Kejahatan dan Kejatuhan Manusia Menurut John Calvin: Sebuah Tanggapan Terhadap Ajaran Dualisme Manichaean

The concept of evil and the fall of man remains a fascinating topic as it illustrates moral complexity, freedom of choice, and its impact on civilization and man's relationship with transcendent values. This article aims to analysis the concept of Manichaean dualism and measure it against the concept of the fall of man, according to John Calvin. This research uses a literature study method. The analysis results show that Manichaean dualism is eclectic and syncretic in different contexts by combining elements from various religious traditions. In contrast, Calvin's thought is very focused on reinterpreting the Christian tradition and emphasizing the authority of the Bible. For Calvin, the concept of dualism is very erroneous and unbiblical; the fall of man and evil should be understood through the doctrine of Adam and Eve's original sin, which resulted in the fall of man into sin because of their disobedience to God.Abstrak. Konsep kejahatan dan kejatuhan manusia tetap menjadi topik yang menarik karena menggambarkan kompleksitas moral, kebebasan pilihan, dan dampaknya terhadap peradaban serta hubungan manusia dengan nilai-nilai transenden. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis konsep dualisme Manichaean dan mengukurnya dengan konsep kejatuhan manusia menurut John Calvin. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode studi literatur. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa dualisme Manichaean bersifat eklektik dan sinkretik dalam konteks yang berbeda dengan menggabungkan elemen-elemen dari berbagai tradisi agama. Sebaliknya, pemikiran Calvin sangat fokus pada penafsiran atas tradisi Kristen dan menekankan otoritas Alkitab. Bagi Calvin, konsep dualisme sangat keliru dan tidak alkitabiah. Kejatuhan manusia dan kejahatan harus dipahami melalui doktrin dosa asal Adam dan Hawa, yang mengakibatkan kejatuhan manusia ke dalam dosa karena ketidaktaatan mereka kepada Tuhan
Silaturahmi dan Gandong: Rekonstruksi Eklesiologi melalui Perspektif Teologi Rahim C.S. Song

This article is an effort to reconstruct ecclesiology by discussing the value of silaturahmi from an Islamic perspective and the Gandong system in Maluku culture with the help of Choan Seng Song's womb theology as the theological lens. This effort was motivated by the 1999 conflict on Haruku Island which began with the conflict on Ambon Island which had damaged the fraternal relations between Christians and Muslims on Haruku Island. Meanwhile, traditional ecclesiology, because it emphasizes the superiority of the church, often makes conflicts even sharper. The results of this study show that both silaturahmi and Gandong emphasize fraternarly love which is addressed both internally and externally. These two elements are also conceived in Jesus' messianic movement, thus making it to be a relevant ecclesiology for the solution to the conflict that occurred.Abstrak. Artikel ini merupakan suatu upaya untuk merekonstruksi eklesiologi dengan mendialogkan nilai silaturahmi dari perspektif Islam dan sistem Gandong dalam kebudayaan Maluku dengan bantuan teologi rahim dari Choan Seng Song sebagai lensa teologisnya. Upaya ini dilatarbelakangi oleh adanya konflik tahun 1999 di Pulau Haruku yang berawal dari konflik di Pulau Ambon yang telah merusak relasi persaudaraan umat Kristen dan umat Islam di Pulau Haruku. Sementara itu, eklesiologi tradisional oleh karena lebih menekankan pada superioritas gereja seringkali justru menjadikan konflik semakin tajam. Hasil kajian ini menunjukkan bahwa baik silaturahmi maupun Gandong menekankan kasih persaudaraan yang ditujukan baik secara internal maupun eksternal. Kedua unsur ini juga terkandung dalam gerakan mesianik Yesus sehingga menjadikannya sebagai eklesiologi yang relevan bagi solusi atas konflik yang terjadi
Keramahtamahan Lot sebagai Orang Asing [גֵּר (gēr)]: Analisis Naratif Kejadian 19:1-14
Full text linkAbstract. The aim of this article is to carry out a narrative analysis of Genesis 19:1-14 using Robert Alter's theory of narrative analysis. The story of Lot, the two angels, and the inhabitants of Sodom, is traditionally interpreted as a narrative of punishment for the Sodomites' sin of homosexuality. However, through the narrative analysis carried out it was found that the main crime of the people of Sodom was their violation of the values of hospitality towards strangers. Thus, it can be concluded that the value of hospitality towards strangers, which is part of social morality, is the main value promoted by the Old Testament.Abstrak. Artikel ini berupaya melakukan analisis naratif terhadap teks Kejadian 19:1-14 dengan menggunakan teori analisis naratif Robert Alter. Kisah antara Lot, kedua malaikat, serta penduduk Sodom, secara tradisional ditafsirkan sebagai narasi hukuman atas dosa homoseksualitas masyarakat Sodom. Namun, melalui analisis naratif yang dilakukan ditemukan bahwa kejahatan utama masyarakat Sodom adalah pelanggaran mereka terhadap nilai-nilai keramahtamahan terhadap orang asing. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa nilai keramahtamahan terhadap orang asing, yang adalah bagian dari moralitas sosial, merupakan nilai utama yang dipromosikan oleh Perjanjian Lama
Efektivitas Bimbingan Pranikah untuk Mengantisipasi Stunting

Since 2019, a premarital counseling program, as a form of Christian religious education at the Evangelical Christian Church in Timor (GMIT), has been implemented, specifically to provide an understanding of reproduction health and the first thousand days of life regarding stunting. This research aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of premarital counseling in anticipating stunting at GMIT Sion Kuli, Rote Ndao Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). The research method used is a qualitative method. The research result showed that the premarital counseling program has not been effective in anticipating stunting because it has not focused on anticipating stunting. Thus, it can be concluded that the church has not paid serious attention to anticipate the danger of stunting.Abstrak. Sejak tahun 2019, program bimbingan pranikah, sebagai salah satu bentuk Pendidikan Agama Kristen di Gereja Masehi Injili di Timor (GMIT) telah dilaksanakan, khususnya untuk memberikan pemahaman tentang kesehatan reproduksi dan periode seribu hari pertama kehidupan yang menyangkut stunting. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi efektivitas bimbingan pranikah dalam mengantisipasi stunting di GMIT Sion Kuli Kabupaten Rote Ndao, Nusa Tenggara Timur (NTT). Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa program bimbingan pranikah belum efektif dalam mengantisipasi stunting karena belum berfokus pada antisipasi stunting. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa gereja belum memberikan perhatian serius dalam antisipasi bahaya stunting
