    [Missing information from the original subseries inventory abstract note] the collection will also allow one to realize the growth of the RMS from 1972 to 1982. There is a separate area for the letters and memos and another area for the Joint Review Board meetings 1976 - 1982. The weakest point of the RMS documents is the year 1973 which few documents are found. The collection's strong point is the various reports from SPAR, the Canadian designers of the RMS, and the Joint Review Board meetings. The RMS (Remote Manipulator System) is an "arm" that has 6 joints, 3 in the wrist, 2 in the shoulder, and 1 in the elbow, each being controlled by a small motor. The length of the RMS is about 15 meters long and is covered with insulation blankets to guard against the severe cold of space. Consisting of 300 electrical wires, the RMS has the power to lift objects weighing 30,000 kg on Earth. Besides acting as a payload deployment and retrieval system, the RMS has proven itself worthy of other projects in many emergency situation ( See STS 2 , November 12, 1981 ) as a necessary device for the Shuttle flights and future space station missions

    Chrysler Corporation, under contract NAS9-13247, was given the task of collecting and disseminating Shuttle wind tunnel test data. The system selected as the database for this task was named SADSAC (System for Automated Design for Static Aerothermodynamic Criteria), later renamed DATAMAN. This subseries consists of material used to create the published documentation on the SADSAC data. The documents consist of original photographs, drawings, and summaries of Shuttle Phase B wind tunnel tests of various orbiter and booster configurations. The inclusive dates run from 1970 to 1983, the bulk of which are 1970-72. The largest portion of documentation consists of material culled from the original SADSAC files and is organized by SADSAC report number. These documents are immediately preceded by a 1973 data file contents report which lists all of the document numbers included in these files and pertinent information about each test. Also included are several documents that explain the SADSAC / DATAMAN system and its history. Originally housed at the Chrysler Corporation's Michoud Engineering Office, the records found their way to the JSC History Office through the efforts of Mr. N. D. Kemp of Chrysler and Dr. John Mauer, contract historian for the Shuttle Chronology. Termination of the Chrysler operations at Michoud necessitated the removal of the documents from the archive maintained there. Dr. Mauer culled the historically significant photographs and other original pictorial data, and the rest was destroyed. However, the published reports are available through the JSC technical library. After processing these records more information on aerothermodynamics, not directly related to the Chrysler documents, was added as addenda to box 0026B

    Real-time Analysis of the Elliott Wave Principle Utilizing Historical Market Data

    The Elliott wave Principle is a theory developed by Ralph Nelson Elliott which describes a pattern of movement in financial markets. When drawn correctly, Elliott waves provide an opportunity to make profitable buy and sell decisions. An Elliott wave consists of 5 waves or lines. There are many varieties of formations depending upon various rules (e.g., line length). Creating an Elliott wave with historical data can be relatively easy for several reasons. Since all data is known, it is possible to construct a complete wave and assess the wave in terms of profitability. Constructing Elliott waves in real-time is a considerable challenge compared to finding Elliott waves within historical data. The primary problem is that once a complete wave (all 5 lines) is identified, an investor cannot go back retroactively and enter a trade. Furthermore, the dynamics of real-time data can impact the identification of respective waves. This research first identifies Elliott waves using historical financial data. Various Elliott wave formations are characterized. After grouping similar waves, their respective formations are statistically analyzed and described in terms of probabilities. This information will provide insight into the assessment of Elliott waves using real-time data. Waiting to identify a complete Elliott wave in real-time is not very fruitful. Thus, this research examines the partial formation of Elliott waves
