Full text linkDer Beitrag setzt an bei der multiplen Vertrauenskrise gegenüber der verfassten römisch-katholischen Kirche. Studien aus Empirie und synodaler Ekklesiologie verweisen auf ein bestimmtes Kriterium für die Rückgewinnung von öffentlichem Vertrauen: die Gemeinwohlwirksamkeit der Kirche. Dieses Kriterium wird ausführlich systematisch-theologisch und kurz sozialwissenschaftlich geprüft. Das Ergebnis: Die bekannte Lehre der notae ecclesiae kann sozialontologisch neu entdeckt und pastoralplanerisch operationalisiert werden, indem man die notae als Vektoren für Gemeinwohlwirksamkeit modelliert.
The article begins with the multiple crisis of confidence in the Roman Catholic Church. Empirical studies and synodal ecclesiology point to a specific criterion for regaining public trust: the Church\u27s effectiveness in promoting the common good. This criterion is examined in detail from a systematic theological perspective and briefly from a social science perspective. The result: the well-known doctrine of notae ecclesiae can be rediscovered in terms of social ontology and operationalised in pastoral planning by modelling the notae as vectors for effectiveness in the common good

Form follows function: morphology as a map of mechanisms in neurodegenerative disease pathology
Full text linkAcross neurodegenerative diseases, the shape and spatial organization of pathology carry rich mechanistic information. Vacuoles, spongiosis, oligodendroglial coiled bodies, dendritic dystrophic neurites, amyloid plaque compactness, and phase-separated droplets each reflect distinct cellular identities, subcellular compartments, trafficking pathways, and biophysical material states. Here, I synthesize morphological signatures across neurodegenerative diseases to propose a framework that links morphology to mechanism. Morphology is neither incidental nor merely descriptive. Rather, it is a readout of the basic mechanisms that govern self-assembly of proteins into aggregates, the cell’s attempts at proteostasis (clearance, sequestration, and transport), and the failure that ensues
Eve Kosofsky Sedgwick\u27s Breast Cancer: Narrating the Ill Self in Relation, Loss, and Grief
No full textAt the age of 42, the literary scholar, poet, and artist Eve Kosofsky Sedgwick was diagnosed with breast cancer which instigated a recurrence of her depression and, consequently, her return to psychotherapy. Her 1999 memoir A Dialogue on Love[1] emerged from the background of Sedgwick’s breast cancer experience in the course of which she underwent chemotherapy, double mastectomy, and metastasis. In the form of prose and poetry, A Dialogue contains Sedgwick’s intimate reflections on her life story, an intellectual account of her experience of breast cancer as well as the ongoing dialogue with her therapist Shannon.
