Pison dominimenke, a new crabronid wasp in Dominican amber (Hymenoptera: Crabronidae).
Eine neue Crabronide, Pison menkei sp. n., wird anhand eines einzelnen Weibchens aus dem Dominikanischen Bernstein des frühen Miozän (Burdigalian) beschrieben. Das Fossil unterscheidet sich deutlich von rezenten und ausgestorbenen Vertretern der Gruppe und wird als isolierte Form betrachtet, die abseits von modernen neotropischen Artengruppen steht. A new species of Eufriesea from Jalisco, México, with a key to Mexican species of the genus (Hymenoptera: Apidae).
Es wird eine neue Art der Prachtbienengattung Eufriesea Cockerell (Apidae: Apinae: Euglossini) beschrieben. Eufriesea micheneri sp. n. ähnelt allgemein E. caerulescens (Lepeletier de Saint Fargeau) mit ihrem dunklen blauen, purpurn irisierendem Integument, unterscheidet sich aber durch die schwarze Behaarung, dunkle Flügel und beim Männchen durch das grüne Gesicht und die Terminalia. Die neue Art ist bisher von der Sierra del Tuito im Staat Jalisco, Mexiko, bekannt, einem westlichen Teil des Transverse Volcanic Belt. Houseflies of the Tristan da Cunha Islands: new records, including the first for Fannia albitarsis Stein, 1911 (Diptera: Fanniidae, Muscidae).
In der Arbeit werden historische und aktuelle Funde von Hausfliegen der Familien Fanniidae und Muscidae auf den Inseln der Tristan da Cunha-Gruppe im Südatlantik zusammengefaßt und diskutiert. Das aktuelle Material wurde 2005 auf den nördlichen Inseln, Tristan da Cunha und Nightingale, gesammelt. Insgesamt sind fünf Arten in vier Gattungen nachgewiesen, einschließlich der Erstnachweise von Fannia albitarsis Stein, 1911 innerhalb des Archipels und von Muscina stabulans (Fallén, 1817) auf der Insel Nightingale. Die korrekte taxonomische Einordnung von Coenosia trina Wiedemann, 1830 wird diskutiert. In total, five species belonging to four genera are recorded. This includes the finding for the first time of Fannia albitarsis Stein, 1911 in the archipelago and Muscina stabulans (Fallén, 1817) on Nightingale Island. Based on material collected in 2005 from the two northern islands, Tristan da Cunha and Nightingale, records and notes are given on four species. A discussion of the correct taxonomic rank of Coenosia trina Wiedemann, 1830 is given. A new species of Chiasmognathus from Iran, with a note on Chiasmognathus aegyptiacus in Israel (Hymenoptera: Apidae).
Für die seltene kleptoparasitische Bienengattung Chiasmognathus Engel (Ammobatini) wird eine neue Art anhand eines Weibchens beschrieben, das im nordwestlichen Iran gefangen wurde. Chiasmognathus rhagae sp. n. ähnelt allgemein C. orientanus (Warncke) (bekannt von Bulgarien, Türkei, Zypern, Kreta und Levante) und C. pashupati Engel aus dem südöstlichen Pakistan, kann aber durch die Färbung und Integumentskulptur leicht erkannt werden. Aulacidae of the southwestern United States, Mexico, and Central America (Hymenoptera).
Für das Gebiet der südwestlichen USA (südliches Texas, New Mexico, Arizona), Mexiko und Mittelamerika werden 42 Aulacidae-Arten festgestellt, von denen 11 zu Aulacus Jurine und 31 zu Pristaulacus Kieffer gehören. Aus den südwestlichen USA sind 8 Arten bekannt, 27 aus Mexiko, eine aus Guatemala, drei aus Honduras, eine aus Nicaragua, 11 aus Costa Rica und zwei aus Panama. Nuovi dati faunistici e tassonomici su Aleocharinae des Sudamerica delle tribu Deinopsini, Athetini e Thamiaraeini (Coleoptera, Staphylinidae).
Für 185 Exemplare der Deinopsini, Athetini und Thamiaraeini aus dem Zoologischen Museum der Humboldt Universität zu Berlin, aus dem Naturhistorischen Museum in Wien, aus dem Deutschen Entomologischen Institut in Müncheberg, aus dem Städtischen Museum der Naturgeschichte in Genua und aus der Sammlung Herbert Franz werden taxonomische und faunistische Angaben präsentiert. Das Material wird 7 Gattungen (Adinopsis, Amischa, Atheta, Leptonia, Dinusella, Heterostiba und Leptoglossula), einer neuen Untergattung und 56 Arten zugeordnet. Twenty-nine new species and the new monotypic subgenus Dysanomota with type species Atheta cinctella (Erichson) are described and illustrated. Das Nistverhalten von Hoplisoides vespoides (Smith, 1873) wird auf Grund von Beobachtungen in Südost-Brasilien beschrieben. Bemerkungen über die Mimikry-Beziehungen dieser Art zu Faltenwespen und einer Waffenfliege werden präsentiert. Ticks of the Tristan da Cunha Archipelago (Acarina: Ixodidae: Argasidae).
Die vorliegende Arbeit fasst alle bisher in der Literatur erwähnten Funde von Zecken-Arten der Tristan da Cunha Inseln zusammen. Ixodes (Multidentatus) zumpti Arthur, 1960 und dessen Wirt können aufgrund aktueller Untersuchungen erstmals für den Archipel gemeldet werden. Eine aktuelle Liste von 10 Zecken-Arten aus drei Gattungen und zwei Familien und deren Wirte, nämlich fünf Vogel-Arten und vermutlich ein Huftier, ist beigefügt. Das untersuchte Material stammt aus neuen Aufsammlungen. Sechs Tribus (Falagriini, Athetini, Thamiaraeini, Pygostenini, Lomechusini und Aleocharini), 20 Gattungen (Cordalia, Falagria, Nehemitropia, Atheta, Schistogenia, Typhloponemys, Pachorhopala, Madecazyras, Porus, Drusilla, Diplopleurus, Neosmectonia, Trichodonia, Myrmechusina, Zyras, Paramyrmoecia, Ocyplanus, Gryptaulacus, Botsa und Aleochara) und 61 Arten werden festgestellt. 29 Arten werden neu beschrieben. Alle verfügbaren Verbreitungsangaben werden mitgeteilt. Die Gattung Madecazyras ist neu für das kontinentale Afrika, sie war bisher aus Madagaskar bekannt. Einige neue Arten werden mit Typen verglichen, die der Autor früher beschrieben hat; andere Arten werden mit den verfügbaren Schlüsseln der Gattungen bestimmt.
