Infektionen durch Rickettsiella melolonthae (Krieg) Philip bei Larven von Amphimallon solstitiale (Linnaeus), Anomala dubia aenea (De Geer), A. (Phyllopertha) horticola (Linnaeus), Maladera (Serica) brunnea (Linnaeus) und Onthophagus spec. (Coleoptera: Lamellicornia).
Forestal and agricultural areas of South-West Germany, infested with larvae of Melolontha melolontha (L.) and M. hippocastani F., showed generally low and occasionally higher numbers of the following accompanying Lamellicornia species: Amphimallon solstitiale (L.), Anomala dubia aenea (Deg.), A. (Phyllopertha) horticola (L.), Maladera (Serica) brunnea (L.) and Onthophagus sp. They all were reared in the laboratory and specially investigated for natural infection by Rickettsiella melolonthae (Krieg) Philip, an important mortality factor among Melolonthae-larvae in the forest of Lorsch. This infection occured naturally in A. solstitiale, A.(P.) horticola and M. (S.) brunnea. Laboratory experiments confirmed the infectivity of R. melolonthae for the mentioned species and included also A. dubia aenea and Onthophagus sp., species of which no natural infestation was known before. The larvae were only naturally infested in areas where the disease occured among the Melolontha-larvae. It probably spread from dead animals of the main species in the soil to larvae of the accompanying lamellicorns

The Trichoptera Types of Species described by J. Curtis.
Die 84 von Curtis aufgestellten Artnamen der Trichopteren sind alphabetisch geordnet. Zu jedem Artnamen ist die jetzige taxonomische Auslegung angegeben, wie auch die ursprüngliche Beschreibung, allgemeine Besprechung und Information über die Lokalität der Typen.Nomenklatorische Handlungenfuscipes Curtis, 1834 (Agapetus), Lectotypeochripes Curtis, 1834 (Agapetus), Lectotypemultipunctata Curtis, 1834 (Agraylea), Lectotypepallidula McLachlan, 1875 (Agraylea), syn. n. of Agraylea sexmaculata Curtis, 1834sexmaculata Curtis, 1834 (Agraylea), Lectotypebrevipennis (Curtis, 1834) (Anabolia), Lectotype described as Limnephilus brevipennisnervosa (Curtis, 1834) (Anabolia), Lectotype described as Limnephilus nervosusgracilipes Curtis, 1834 (Anticyra), Lectotype now a synonym of Psychomyia pusilla (Fabricius, 1798)latipes Curtis, 1834 (Anticyra), Lectotype new a synonym of Psychomyia pusilla (Fabricius, 1798)cinerea (Curtis, 1834) (Athripsodes), Lectotype described as Leptocerus cinereus Curtis, 1834pullata (Curtis, 1834) (Beraea), Lectotype described as Thya pullatasubnubilus Curtis, 1834 (Brachycentrus), Lectotypeirrorata (Curtis, 1834) (Crunoecia), Lectotype described as Goera irroratatrimaculatus (Curtis, 1834) (Cyrnus), Lectotype described as Philopotamus trimaculatusboltoni Curtis, 1834 (Glossosoma), Lectotypeconformis Neboiss, 1963 (Glossosoma), nom. n. pro Glossosoma boltoni McLachlan, 1879, nec Curtis, 1834radiatus (Curtis, 1834) (Halesus), Lectotype described as Limnephilus radiatusfulvipes (Curtis, 1834) (Hydropsyche), Lectotype described as Philopotamus fulvipeshibernica Curtis, 1836 (Hydropsyche), Lectotype now a synonym of Hydropsyche pellucidula Curtis, 1834instabilis (Curtis, 1834) (Hydropsyche), Lectotype described as Philopotamus instabilispellucidula (Curtis, 1834) (Hydropsyche), Lectotype described as Philopotamus pellucidulusventralis Curtis, 1836 (Hydropsyche), Lectotype now a synonym of Cheimatopsyche lepida (Pictet, 1834)maclachlani Klapalek, 1890 (Hydroptila), syn. n. of Hydroptila vectis Curtis, 1834sparsa Curtis, 1834 (Hydroptila), Lectotypevectis Curtis, 1834 (Hydroptila), Lectotypeauricula Curtis, 1834 (Limnephilus), Lectotypebinotatus Curtis, 1834 (Limnephilus), Lectotypebipartitus Curtis, 1834 (Limnephilus), syn. n. of Limnephilus centralis Curtis, 1834centralis Curtis, 1834 (Limnephilus), Lectotypecoenosus Curtis, 1834 (Limnephilus), Lectotypeconsobrinus Curtis, 1834 (Limnephilus), Lectotype now a synonym of Limnephilus vittatus (Fabricius, 1798)discoidalis Curtis, 1834 (Limnephilus), Lectotypeelegans Curtis, 1834 (Limnephilus), Lectotypeemarginatus Curtis, 1834 (Limnephilus), Lectotype now a synonym of Glyphotaelius pellucidus (Retzius, 1783)fenestralis Curtis, 1834 (Limnephilus), Lectotype now a synonym of Limnephilus griseus Linnaeus,1758hieroglyphicus Curtis, 1834 (Limnephilus), Lectotype now a synonym of Halesus digitatus Schrank, 1781incisus Curtis, 1834 (Limnephilus), Lectotypelunatus Curtis, 1834 (Limnephilus), Lectotypeluridus Curtis, 1834 (Limnephilus), Lectotypemarmoratus Curtis, 1834 (Limnephilus), Lectotypenebulosus Curtis, 1834 (Limnephilus), Lectotype now a synonym of Limnephilus lunatus Curtis, 1834obscurus Curtis, 1834 (Limnephilus), Lectotypeochraceus Curtis, 1834 (Limnephilus), Lectotypesparsus Curtis, 1834 (Limnephilus), Lectotypestellatus Curtis, 1834 (Limnephilus), Lectotype;
