    This study aims to analyze the social communication strategies implemented by the Lampung Province Women's Islamic Leadership (PWWI) in empowering women based on Islamic values. Amidst the challenges of modernization and shifting patterns of social interaction, religious-based women's organizations face demands to not only be a forum for religious study, but also a driving force for socio-economic independence. Using descriptive qualitative methods, this study collected data through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation of organizational activities. The results show that social communication in PWWI Lampung functions as a mechanism for social cohesion, which is operationalized through three main strategies: (1) Internalization of transformative Islamic values in da'wah activities, (2) Strengthening socioeconomic capital through MSME networks and halal certification, and (3) Adaptation of digital communication to expand the reach of public advocacy. This study concludes that the integration of spiritual values in social communication has proven effective in increasing member participation and shaping the collective identity of women who are empowered, independent, and responsive to contemporary social issues

    Ritual as Living Interpretation: A Phenomenological Study of Frederick M. Denny's Thought

    This study explores the thought of Frederick M. Denny on Islamic rituals through a phenomenological approach. Denny critiques the neglect of performative ritual aspects in Islamic studies, especially among Muslim scholars and Orientalists. He emphasizes that rituals are not merely symbolic actions but living interpretations rooted in sacred space, time, and theological significance. Drawing on theories such as Sacred Space and Time, Topocosm, and Rites of Passage, Denny provides a comprehensive framework to understand Islamic ritual practices more deeply. His criticism of previous scholars such as Nadel and his engagement with figures like Snouck Hurgronje and Clifford Geertz highlights the importance of integrating textual sources with contextual performance in ritual analysis. This study finds that Denny’s contributions offer significant potential to bridge the gap between normative doctrine and lived religious practices in Muslim societies. His emphasis on the Qur’anic recitation and zakat as sacramental and socio-economic rituals further underlines the richness and complexity of ritual life in Islam. The study advocates for a more appreciative, critical, and scientifically grounded approach to Islamic ritual studies

    Uqud al-Khidmah and the Protection of Domestic Workers: A Comparative Study between Fiqh and Indonesian Positive Law

    The issue of legal protection for domestic workers (PRT) in Indonesia remains a pressing concern, as this group has yet to receive comprehensive recognition in national legislation. This study aims to analyze the concept of uqud al-khidmah in Islamic jurisprudence (fiqh) and compare it with Indonesian positive law regarding the legal protection of domestic workers. A normative qualitative approach is employed, examining classical and contemporary Islamic legal sources alongside relevant Indonesian legal instruments, including Ministerial Regulation No. 2 of 2015 on the Protection of Domestic Workers. In Islamic law, ijarah or uqud al-khidmah contracts emphasize principles such as justice, mutual consent (an taradin), the avoidance of ambiguity (gharar), and respect for human dignity, all of which reflect a holistic framework for worker protection. In contrast, Indonesia’s positive law has yet to provide full protection, due to the absence of a specific law governing domestic work. The findings reveal that fiqh offers significant normative contributions to formulating just and humane regulations for domestic workers. Therefore, integrating Islamic legal values into national policymaking may serve as a constructive alternative to address the existing legal vacuum and enhance the protection of this vulnerable labor sector

    THE ROLE OF MEDIATION IN MUSLIM FAMILY DISPUTE RESOLUTION: QURANIC PERSPECTIVE AND CONTEMPORARY LEGAL PRACTICE

    Mediation is one of the dispute resolution methods recommended in Islam and implemented in the contemporary legal system, including in the resolution of Muslim family disputes. This study aims to analyze the role of mediation in resolving Muslim family conflicts based on the perspective of the Qur'an and the legal practices applicable in religious courts. This research is a literature study with a qualitative approach through juridical-normative and sociological methods. Primary data include the Qur'an, Hadith, and regulations related to mediation, such as Law No. 7 of 1989. Secondary data are in the form of books, journals, and scientific articles. Data collection is carried out through text review and analyzed descriptively analytically.This study shows that mediation (Ishlah) in Islam is considered the best solution to resolve disputes, as emphasized in the Qur'an. However, its effectiveness is still hampered by low success, lack of awareness, and limited regulations and facilities. Although it has a strong foundation in Islam and positive law, its implementation needs to be strengthened to reduce the divorce rate. The synergy between legal institutions, mediators, and the community is required to increase awareness and improve the mediation system to be more effective in resolving Muslim family disputes reasonably and harmoniously.Mediasi merupakan salah satu metode penyelesaian sengketa yang dianjurkan dalam Islam dan diimplementasikan dalam sistem hukum kontemporer, termasuk dalam penyelesaian sengketa keluarga Muslim. Studi ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peran mediasi dalam penyelesaian konflik keluarga Muslim berdasarkan perspektif Al-Qur’an dan praktik hukum yang berlaku di pengadilan agama. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kepustakaan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode yuridis-normatif dan sosiologis, Sumber data primer yang digunakan adalah Al-Qur’an, Hadis dan Undang-Undang dan regulasi terkait mediasi dalam penyelesaian sengketa keluarga di Indonesia, seperti UU No. 7 Tahun 1989 tentang Peradilan Agama dan peraturan terkait lainnya. Sedangkan data sekunder menggunakan buku, jurnal, dan artikel ilmiah terkait mediasi dalam hukum Islam dan hukum keluarga kontemporer. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan menelaah ayat-ayat Al-Qur’an, Hadis, kitab-kitab fiqh, serta regulasi hukum terkait mediasi. Selanjutnya data yang penulis dapatkan akan di analisa dengan menggunakan deskriptif analitis. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa dalam ajaran Islam, mediasi (ishlah) dipandang sebagai solusi terbaik dalam menyelesaikan perselisihan, sebagaimana ditegaskan dalam beberapa ayat Al-Qur’an yang menekankan pentingnya perdamaian. Namun, dalam praktiknya, efektivitas mediasi masih menghadapi berbagai kendala, seperti rendahnya tingkat keberhasilan, kurangnya kesadaran para pihak, serta keterbatasan regulasi dan fasilitas. Penelitian ini juga menemukan bahwa meskipun mediasi memiliki landasan yang kuat dalam Islam dan diakomodasi dalam hukum positif, implementasinya masih perlu diperkuat agar lebih efektif dalam menekan angka perceraian. Diperlukan sinergi antara lembaga hukum, mediator, dan masyarakat untuk meningkatkan kesadaran akan pentingnya mediasi serta memperbaiki sistem pelaksanaannya.     The Use of A Read Along Application to Improve Students’ Pronunciation

    This study aims to enhance students' English pronunciation skills through the use of the Read Along application. The research focused on seventh-grade students at SMPN 2 Cilegon during the 2023/2024 academic year. The participants were 34 students from class VII B. The methodology employed was Classroom Action Research (CAR) as developed by Kemmis and McTaggart, conducted in two cycles each consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection. Data collection involved both qualitative and quantitative methods. Qualitative data was gathered using observation sheets, while quantitative data was obtained through tests. The application usefulness was hampered in cycle I initial test by problems like slow internet connectivity and low student participation. The first was for the students to open the application, which they did without any problems. However, only about 20% of students were able to grasp the second level's features. This was due to the students' inexperience with the technology of the application, which made it take longer for them to get used to.  With an average score of 62.41, only 6 students (17.65%) passed the Minimum Completion Criteria (KKM). After resolving these issues, demonstrated significant improvements in the second test of cycle II, there was significant improvement, with 29 students (85.30%) meeting the Mastery Minimum Criteria (KKM) and an average score of 82.05. The study concludes that the Read Along application is effective in improving the English pronunciation of seventh-grade students at SMPN 2 Cilegon. &nbsp

    KONSEP RUKYAH AL-HILAL PERSFEKTIF HADIS NABI SAW

    This paper aims to examine the concept of rukyah al hilal by using the approach of the hadiths of the Prophet saw. As a second source of law. This study is of a literary nature, namely by looking for several sources of hadith from the book of Jami' al hadith an-Nabawi with the analysis used is content analysis. The findings of this study reveal that the understanding of the scholars in understanding the Prophet's hadith about Rukyah al Hilal has differences. The diversity of pronunciations provides several meanings in understanding and using the hadith, thus triggering differences of opinion among the scholars. This difference interprets the word Rukyah axiologically as a method for obtaining new moon data at the beginning of the month so that in understanding it there are three methods, namely the Rukyah method, the reckoning method, and the Isti'mal method. Thus, it becomes an obligation that must be carried out by every Muslim to try to find out the new moon, either through direct observation (ru'yat al-hilal), or using the reckoning method for people who have the expertise and ability to perform calculations or use reckoning. if the hilal is not conclusively known, then the people fall into a doubt on that day, the Prophet forbade fasting on the day that is in doubt, it is considered committing disobedienceTulisan ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji tentang konsep rukyah al hilal dengan menggunakan pendekatan hadis-hadis Nabi saw. Sebagai sumber hukum kedua. Kajian ini bersifat kepustakaan yaitu dengan mencari beberapa sumber hadis dari kitab Jami’ al hadis an- Nabawi dengan analisis  yang digunakan adalah content analysis. Temuan dari penelitian ini mengungkapkan bahwa pemahaman para ulama dalam memahami hadis Nabi saw tentang Rukyah al Hilal memiliki perbedaan. Keragaman lafal memberikan beberapa pemaknaan dalam memahami dan menggunakan hadis tersebut, sehingga memicu perbedaan pendapat para ulama. Perbedaan tersebut memaknai kata Rukyah secara aksiologi adalah sebuah metode untuk mendapatkan data hilal awal bulan sehingga dalam memahaminya terdapat tiga metode yaitu metode Rukyah, metode hisab, dan metode Isti’mal. Dengan demikian, menjadi sebuah kewajiban yang harus dilakukan oleh setiap muslim agar berusaha untuk mengetahui hilal itu, baik melalui observasi langsung (ru’yat al-hilal), ataupun menggunakan metode hisab bagi orang yang memiliki keahlian dan kemampuan untuk melakukan perhitungan atau menggunakan hisab, kalau hilal tidak diketahui wujudnya secara meyakinkan, maka umat jatuh pada sebuah keraguan pada hari itu, Nabi saw melarang berpuasa pada hari yang diragukan, dianggap melakukan kedurhakaan

    This study aims to examine the practices of reading and writing the Qur'an in reducing negative behaviors among students in Vocational High Schools (SMK). The study seeks to analyze how the practices of reading and writing the Qur'an contribute to reducing negative behaviors of SMK students. Negative behaviors in SMK students, such as violations of rules, attendance issues, tardiness, bullying among students, school fights, and other tendencies toward aggressive behavior, remain serious challenges in the educational field. One approach used by value-based religious schools is the implementation of reading and writing the Qur'an as part of student character development. This study uses a qualitative approach with data collection techniques, including observation, document study, and audiovisual information. The results of the study indicate that the practice of reading and writing the Qur’an regularly and in a structured manner can reduce negative behavior in students. In general, some students still repeat negative behaviors after being given interventions in reading and writing the Qur’an, along with additional interventions such as written statements, cleaning school corridors, and performing the five daily prayers with photo evidence including the date, time, and location, but with significantly reduced intensity. This becomes an important note for guidance and counseling in schools, that completely stopping students' negative behavior is very difficult, but counselors can reduce or diminish the intensity of students' negative actions to a lower level. This study emphasizes that religious activities can be used as a fairly effective character education strategy in vocational schools

    This article addresses the primary issue of environmental degradation caused by excessive human consumption and unsustainable development models. The study employs a critical analysis of the New Environmental Paradigm (NEP) by Catton and Dunlap to explore the complex interactions between humans and the natural environment. Methodologically, the research utilizes qualitative data from various sources, including historical texts and contemporary studies, to illustrate how socio-cultural values and practices contribute to environmental crises. Key findings indicate that the overexploitation of natural resources, coupled with inadequate awareness of the intrinsic relationship between humans and nature, exacerbates environmental damage. The research highlights the potential of Generation Z to lead behavioral changes towards more sustainable lifestyles through social media and technological engagement. By integrating Tasawuf (Sufi) ethical values, which emphasize simplicity, ecological balance, and empathy towards all creation, Generation Z can foster a movement towards environmental preservation. The study underscores the importance of re-educating society on ethical environmental practices to mitigate ongoing environmental issues and promote sustainability.Artikel ini membahas masalah utama degradasi lingkungan yang disebabkan oleh konsumsi manusia yang berlebihan dan model pembangunan yang tidak berkelanjutan. Penelitian ini menggunakan analisis kritis terhadap Paradigma Lingkungan Baru (NEP) oleh Catton dan Dunlap untuk mengeksplorasi interaksi kompleks antara manusia dan lingkungan alam. Secara metodologis, penelitian ini memanfaatkan data kualitatif dari berbagai sumber, termasuk teks sejarah dan studi kontemporer, untuk menggambarkan bagaimana nilai dan praktik sosial-budaya berkontribusi pada krisis lingkungan. Temuan utama menunjukkan bahwa eksploitasi berlebihan sumber daya alam, ditambah dengan kurangnya kesadaran akan hubungan intrinsik antara manusia dan alam, memperburuk kerusakan lingkungan. Penelitian ini menyoroti potensi Generasi Z untuk memimpin perubahan perilaku menuju gaya hidup yang lebih berkelanjutan melalui media sosial dan keterlibatan teknologi. Dengan mengintegrasikan nilai-nilai etika Tasawuf, yang menekankan kesederhanaan, keseimbangan ekologi, dan empati terhadap semua ciptaan, Generasi Z dapat mendorong gerakan menuju pelestarian lingkungan.     Communication events that occur in an organization can be studied, such as whether subordinates carry out the leader's instructions correctly or not, or how they convey complaints to the leader, through communication. This information can be used to determine whether the organizational goals that have been set can be achieved in accordance with the expected results. Establishing a good relationship between the chairman and members of each organization is very important, considering that humans are a very important component in the organization.Starting from political and community groups, Indonesia witnessed the growth of several organizations. Muhammadiyah is one of the largest Islamic social organizations in the country. The name Muhammadiyah is no longer foreign to Indonesian culture as a whole. The Indonesian nation has benefited greatly from the work of Islamic organizations operating in the fields of religion, society and education.     Amid global crises threatening Indonesian agrarian sustainability, this study asks How can Sundanese eclipse interpretations as ayat kauniyah be revitalized via ecotheology for sustainable Islam Nusantara identity? Ecotheology sees eclipses as divine signs urging khalifah fil ardhi reflection, per Nasr: “In the eye of a spiritual person, every organism of nature reflects the divine reality…”1 Background Sundanese reliance on natural cycles in 19th-century naskah patakonan, endangered by deforestation and climate change.
